Re: Guide: Everything We Now Know About the Nintendo Switch

kendorage

I'm in. Just need more details as to whether it's day one or down the line. But tax return season is around that time so maybe day one.

As for the "NS", it looks slick and I like the multiple control options and games line up so far. More details and previews and I should be sold.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Top Gear Rally

kendorage

i liked top gear overdrive more cause it was a fun arcade style racer, but top gear rally was pretty good too. unless i missed it, hope world driver championship makes the "64" list. that was probably my favorite sim racer along with the f1 game on the n64.

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th October (North America)

kendorage

this is actually a good week: lots of discounts, new indie games, dlc content, and a gba classic...and people are still "nothing this week" and complaining about the eshop?

i can understand waiting for reviews or disapointment in not getting your favorite retro game, but i can also see 3rd party developers reading comments and thinking..." nintendo owners dont buy 3rd party games".

of course, if people are mainly saying the VC needs to have more games than i would totally agree. still, maybe pick up one of the new or discounted eshop indie games instead.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: F-Zero X

kendorage

so smooth and fast with all those vehicles on screen, i was amazed at the time. didnt care that the backgrounds were sparse, had too much fun on the actual tracks. great game, 9/10.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Cruis'n USA

kendorage

beetle adventure racing, san francisco rush, top gear rally, world driver championship, mrc racing(?), gt64, automobili lamborghini(sp), top gear overdrive were all racing games i found more enjoyable than crusin usa.

Re: Feature: Ahead Of Hyrule Warriors, We Take A Look Back At Koei Tecmo's Famous Musou Series

kendorage

i have a dynasty warriors & samurai warriors game on my now red-ringed 360. i like the games cause of the japanese and chinese history & characters, and the fact that i consider them the action-game equivalent of the old koei strategy games i love so much(nobunagas ambition, romance of the three kingdoms 2, etc).

might buy koei's warriors orochi for wii u still, but will probably just get hyrule warriors first. looking forward to see the zelda world adapted to this series.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Hybrid Heaven

kendorage

winback64, isnt that a koei game? anyway, winback and hybrid heaven were two games i never got a chance to try out on the n64. heard good things about both though.

Re: Nintendo 64x64: Buck Bumble

kendorage

im in the states, but i used to buy total64 magazine cause for some reason my local grocery store carried it. then they stopped. really loved that magazine, still have half a dozen in a box. not sure why they gave buck bumble a 92 though lol.

havent been keeping up with this series of articles on the 64, but apparently its random games and not 64 best on the console? looking forward to seeing the final 64 games chosen. big fan of the n64 with a still working one in a box in a closet(not gathering dust, but to prevent it from collecting dust)

Re: New Project CARS Screenshots Race Into View

kendorage

oh...lots of cool screenshots worthy of being avatar or wallpaper pics:)

if this eventually gets cancelled on wii u, it will be one of those rare times that i will be disappointed in saving $60 as opposed to spending it.

lets hope it all turns out ok.

Re: Miiverse Tells the Tale of a Broken Mario Kart 8 Street Date

kendorage

I pre-ordered mine from target. got a free Mario key chain with the card, will get a free $5 gift card when I show up to get the game, and apparently will get a free wii wheel with the game according to this weeks ad. I guess those 3 things might be worth a couple of extra days of waiting if I stick with my preorder.

Re: Nintendo's Expensive New Development Building Isn't Very Exciting

kendorage

i want to know what their break room looks like. perhaps a wii u for employees to play with and be inspired by....or just a couple of vending machines with over priced chips?

also, i get what everybody is saying with ...its the inside that counts, structural sturdiness, functional simplicity, etc... but you would think the nintendo letters would be in color at least to stand out a bit.

Re: Nintendo to Step Up Character IP Licensing, Including "Win-Win" Options in "Digital Fields"

kendorage

I hope they contact sega and go half with them on a football(USA-style) game featuring nintendo mascots. This would allow both companies to share the cost/risk of the game, allow for wii u to fill in a sports genre gap(madden 13 not withstanding), and allow sega to bring back their football franchise back as an exclusive to the wii u(since they can't have the nfl license thanks to ea).

Gameplay wise they could have a sim mode with heavy customizable features, and an arcade mode with power ups and gameplay similar to an nfl blitz or mutant league-style hockey game on the genesis.

Also, a 1st or 3rd person shooter with nintendo characters......but in a much more colorful game, with creative world/arenas , fun weapons and online emphasis. Team zelda vs team mario, etc.

Crazy ideas, I know. But these would be fun to me and fill in some game genre gaps and help alleviate costs if nintendo goes half on the project. Plus, because they get to use licensed nintendo characters, the game might sell better or have immediate brand recognition for 3rd parties who are worried their game might not sell.

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U Without The GamePad?

kendorage

@platypus101

Yes I wrote that. But I'm afraid you inferred to much from that comment. I merely meant that wii u owners want the new controller that came with the wii u, not have to use the remotes from the wii. When the gamepad is the new selling point of a new console for new game experiences, obviously most people want to use the new gamepad. Right? And you have to admit, the gamepad is kinda different from a wii remote.

So i wasn't upset you said crazy, I was upset you insinuated that I said new controller = more fun as that was not the point I was making at all. But if it was a misunderstanding, fair enough:)

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U Without The GamePad?

kendorage

@platypus101

And I don't like it when people talk off topic or change the subject. Are you even replying to the correct post? All i said was that the gamepad was a great controller and unique and that wii u owners want/should have more than one per console since local multiplayer is stressed so much. Why should only one person get to enjoy their own gamepad while others have to settle for old wii remotes?

I didn't mention ps or xbox controllers at all.

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U Without The GamePad?

kendorage

I love the gamepad, and think its a great idea. Here's the problem... there's only one allowed per console. Because nintendo stresses local multiplayer, and not a lot of other titles have online play, only one person gets to use this unique gamepad.

Its like inviting friends over and saying "check out my new wii u and this great new controller. Let's play some multiplayer. I will use the cool gamepad...everyone else use the half-decade old remotes".

Not fun watching one person enjoy the new controller( and casual consumers will think its just an accessory or new controller option when they see everyone else with an old remote in the ad). And passing the gamepad around gets old. Gamers want their own.

Either make wii u compatible with more gamepads and sell gamepads individually, or at the very least package a pro controller or wii mote plus with wii u's. But don't give up on the gamepad(more games that utilize its features would help too of course). If you are going to stress local mp, people want their own unique gamepad.

Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd January (North America)

kendorage

I don't understand. If you are losing money in your last earnings report, and you have a slow retail release month...why would you not load up on VC releases to help with both problems(make profit and fill in game gaps)?

I haven't given up on my wii u, has nintendo? I know jan is considered a slow month in general for games, but nintendo needs to be agressive and change their gameplan. It makes no sense to me. Mighty bomb jack is the major/only "new" option this wk? Really?

If only nintendo diehard fans are supporting nintendo now, then they need to support and cater to us. We have money and are willing to spend it. ' Grandpa casual' and 'non-informed grandma' ain't gonna pay your bills nintendo. We are.

Sorry, end rant.

Re: Kirby: Triple Deluxe Makes Japanese Chart Début at Number One

kendorage

Those thinking the wii u will be number one again.....plz stop.

Those wishing nintendo would end the wii u just because it isn't number one.....plz stop.

Those hoping to play upcoming 1st/2nd party wii u games, eshop games, and wii back catalogue games on their wii u in the next few years.....plz continue.

I'm heartbroken as much as the next person that I won't get to play madden and
1st person shooter #203 on wii u, but that's why I will eventually add a ps4/xbox1 to my wii u. I just hope they don't fight next to each other on my console stand. Oh wait, they are inanimate objects, nm.

(My opinion only, sorry to offend)
