Humble Bundle is bringing Contingent99's Wizard of Legend to the Switch eShop, it has been revealed.
The 2D action title mixes intense combos with more than 100 customisable spells in a roguelike setting, and also offers both single and co-op modes. It's the work of high school chums Bundy Kim and Dahoon Lee, and will be coming to Switch alongside the PS4, Xbox One and Steam versions in the first quarter of 2018.
Here's some PR:
Wizard of Legend is a fast paced dungeon crawler with an emphasis on dynamic magical combat. Quick movement and even quicker use of spells will allow you to chain spells together to unleash devastating combinations against your enemies! Unlock and master over a hundred elemental spells which will allow you to create a hand best suited to your playstyle. Dive head first into the fray or stand back and let your minions do the work for you, the choice is yours!
As this game is our debut project, the basis for the game first came to form after many months of prototyping different ideas in the format of a 2D action adventure game. We knew we wanted create a game similar to the beloved action adventure games of the classic SNES era, that emphasized item discovery and exploration. But we also wanted to create a game with an engaging combat system with a pacing similar to modern hack and slash games with a hint of inspiration from fighting games. What we ended up with is a fast paced spell slinging dungeon crawler called Wizard of Legend.
+ Fast paced spell slinging combat!
+ Over 100 unique elemental spells to discover and unlock!
+ Procedurally generated levels with both random and precrafted rooms mean a new challenge every time!
+ Dynamic bosses and enemies that gain new abilities as you play
+ Endless customization with hundreds of relics and outfits to unlock!
+ Two player local co-op
It certainly looks like good stuff to us and reminds us a little of Hyper Light Drifter. What about you? Let us know if you're excited about playing this title on your Switch by casting a spell in the comments section below.

Wow. Looks neat. I love the art style on these 'pixel explosion' games, as I like to call them.
...And the indies list on the eShop keeps growing bigger and bigger!
It’s so amazing how much support the Switch is getting, who cares about 4K when you can play anytime anywhere, this is the best console ever!!!
Oh boy! Magical Roguelite action game. Looks like this is made specifically for me.
The combination of this as a brawler like game and Enter the Gungeon as a shooter like Roguelite will eat up so much of my time!
Looks amazing
IGN owning Humble Bundle doesn't sit right with me. I'm not sure why, but it just doesn't.
It looks really cool. If the price is right, not $40, then I will probably grab it.
Looks pretty neat Love me some magic action
Reminds me of a more fun version of 9 Parchments. That demo was just okay for me.
Looks pretty good.
Now THAT looks incredible. So fast and fluid.
What's Specter Knight doing there
As said at the end of the article, its clearly like Hyper light drifter. Its not a bad thing. I just want the two games coming in 2018. Totally day one for me or simply minute one for me. Its clearly my type of game.
@JHDK It's probably the word Humble.
Oh Hyper Light Drifter, we'll never see you on the Switch unless the GameMaker engine gets some sort of compatibility. Same for Undertale too! We need this stuff to actually work on Switch!
Wow this looks amazing... can't wait to hear more next year!
The Captain likes.
This game looks so good I could cry. I'm going to enjoy playing this with my bestie!!!
Looks great , I hope it is as fun as that looks.
Looks good!
Oh look, more pixel art - if $1.99 I'll think about it.
Yes!!! This is appealing to me and I'm buying it.
What happen to Hollow Knight? Why hasn't release yet? 😢
Please make this online multiplayer and not just couch co op please
I immediately saw that it was roguelike. I recognize them from a mile away. Pass!
Everything about this was pressing all the right buttons, then I saw that it was another roguelike, constantly made by devs who are too lazy to actually learn level design and rely on randomness to fill out their video game's content. I'm not 100% against the genre, but this game needs to be more like Rogue Legacy with a real sense of progression despite the procedural generation before I'll even consider it. That being said, the 2 player co-op might give me some interest if the game costs less than $15 since it's something my son might enjoy.
