Hyrule Warriors was a great game, and that, mixed with Breath of the Wild's music, graphics, story and world, is going to be one hell of a masterpiece.
Real shame they just remastered Super Mario 64... most N64 games considered ground-breaking at the time have aged pretty poorly, especially Super Mario 64, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Maybe just adding high-res textures and making new models for characters like in DS would have been fine. Bowser looked better on DS than on N64.
@nessisonett Thank you for sharing, that's really insightful. But wouldn't it be personally rewarding if, say, you worked on the next Zelda game, even if it was a slightly mundane job like shadows? But don't get me wrong, I completely get why it would be boring...
I usually play a game, go off it for a few weeks, and then play it again. I'm replaying Xenoblade DE, and completed the entire Colony 6 sidequest, Collectopaedia, and have nearly maxed out affinity!
@Transcendent I ain't a movie critic. I grew up watching these movies. I liked them then and rewatched them to realise that even if there's little effort put in (for an animated movie) children will still go out and see it.
@bobzbulder That's a small turn off in Final Fantasy X, which I just got. The lack of a proper EXP system confused me but I learnt the ropes pretty quickly. Ultimately I might end up getting TOK, because I've never played a PM game before, only Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam.
@Steven_the_2nd Sorry about that, I didn't actually know about that caveat! But it still doesn't feel like it has the same value as a $60 Nintendo video game.
This LEGO Mario idea is a one-trick pony. If I were at a LEGO store and they had this one as a demo, I'd try it, but certainly wouldn't spend $100 on it. The suits literally do nothing beyond add new pixel art and sound effects.
@Heavyarms55 I cannot say I'm their biggest fan either. I enjoy watching their films NOW to determine how dumb they really are. I hope they make a good movie but knowing these guys, they don't care about that, only making a tidy profit from at heart a mediocre movie, and a cheap one at that. (Think SING, where the same crocodile guy appears in every scene because of the laziness of the Mac Guff animators)
This song, and how well done the first 30 seconds were, only makes me want to know how songs like Mechanical Rhythm, Mechonis Field, Tephra Cave, Satorl Marsh, and Eryth Sea would be done!
@DinnerAndWine I'm sorry if I came off that way. Sports events, concerts, should always allow fans. I suppose gamescom can allow their authentic gaming experience to happen online, maybe game devs can put demos of their games onto their respective storefronts.
This pandemic will open people's eyes, and make us question whether or not we really need physical conventions when Nintendo is giving us pre-recorded Directs.
This man's work ethic is unbelievable. He could just stick up his nose and delay the ARMS fighter! I'm not the first one to say this nor will I be the last. We aren't worthy of Mr Sakurai!
As a fan I cannot want this enough. But realistically are they really going to remaster all of them, let alone bundle them together? This is the same company that remade a 1993 Zelda Game Boy game and priced it at $50.
@Li_N_K Reyn is the only underleveled character. And they got to Makna Forest in 27 hours, which depending on your point of view is pretty long to get to that point, or very short.
My thoughts: That UI is to die for. It's so simplistic, and with that 2D feel, cartoony radar and icons for Arts. Character designs, especially Melia, are brilliant. Gaur Plains sounds fantastic. Engage the Enemy is okay, but the opera singers don't have as much emotion as the singer in the original.
I know it might not be true but this makes sense from a gameplay perspective. The world is the same so the devs can pack more into it, add more detail. If they want to expand Hyrule they make sure everyone is familiar with the original world first.
@EVIL-C The Switch was clearly built to last, it's selling faster each year, made from cheap and accessible hardware. I think that the next gen hardware will cause sales to slow down, but I feel like it's a question of when it'll pass 100m, not if.
@Heavyarms55 To be honest Xenoblade X wouldn't be the hardest game to port to Switch. They could just transfer FrontierNav to the - button, which I don't remember having any function. The menu could just open like the Breath of the Wild map, and if they decide to keep squad missions those can be in another menu.

Re: Video: Atlus Gives Us Another Look At The Shin Megami Tensei III Remaster
Played Persona 5 and heard that SMT was a much darker game than it. Might just give it a go!

Re: Nintendo To Host A 'Designer Career Recruitment Session' For Potential Dev Staff
@nessisonett Any reason why not? Is it the videogame factor, their office culture, or...? Don't mean to be like "It's NINTENDO", I'm really curious!

But will we have some retro Mario games to use this controller with?

Re: Review: Paper Mario: The Origami King - A Puzzling Battle System Can't Kill This Funny Adventure
I admit, I'm still on the fence because of combat and lack of EXP...
Re: Fans Have Discovered A Private Mario 35th Anniversary Twitter Account
You know what they say; hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Re: Feature: Remembering Satoru Iwata, Five Years On
Hope he has rested in peace. He changed video gaming forever and didn't deserve such a grisly end.
Re: Can You Match These Links To The Zelda Game They're From?
21/21 only because I read the Oracle of Seasons/Ages manga and could tell between the two items
Re: PlatinumGames Addresses Wonderful 101 Kickstarter Custom Fees, And Backers Aren't Happy
@TimboSlice Really? I just got a digital copy, specifically, so I didn't have to deal with posting and waiting around.

Yet another case of 'small text wins again'
Re: Random: Can You 'Guess That Game'? - Nintendo Shares A Brand New Quiz
@Bankaj If we know NL, they'll make an article about the new game
Re: Nintendo Says Directs Are 'Incredibly Effective', But They Might Not Be Around Forever
@Anti-Matter Direct or no Direct there are always placeholders. Sometimes even years before games come out.
Re: Random: Can You 'Guess That Game'? - Nintendo Shares A Brand New Quiz
A YouTube comment said; "What if the next time they did this they reveal a new game?" and I have to say that would work.

Re: The Original Voice Cast Returns To Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
This is superb! Apart from Adam Howden (who plays Shulk like a god) I loved Jenna Coleman's work, which was fit for an emperor, quite frankly
Re: Video: Getting A Real Feel For Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition
Don't do this to me, Alex!!
Re: Illumination's Mario Movie Still Making Good Progress, Despite Current Lockdowns
Does anyone think that Charles Martinet is or isn't gonna voice Mario? I think he will, because of his icon status.
Re: Illumination's Mario Movie Still Making Good Progress, Despite Current Lockdowns
@Alpha-2002 This quote should appear at the start of the movie.

The site has been updated with a lot of new content, as of May 1st!
Re: Gallery: Huge Batch Of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Screenshots Show Characters And Environments
@merceria Definitely this one. Even though 2 has different characters and settings, playing the first game helps you understand the end part of 2.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Will Feature Both The Original And Remastered Soundtracks
Unlike Dragon Quest XI, which had the same feature, both versions of the soundtrack are enjoyable.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition Will Feature Both The Original And Remastered Soundtracks
YES!! If some of the remastered tracks don't cut it, I can switch to the soundtrack that we all know and love!!

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Graphics - The Most Beautiful Switch Games
@leon_s_k Believe me I love Xenoblade 2. But the visuals of that game are atrocious. While most games run at 720p portable Xenoblade runs at 360p

It isn't on this post, but there's an image of Eryth Sea at night, and the sky has been updated with some aurora borealis effects!

I backed this game, so it's a little weird to see that the game's apparent low poly models problem from Wii U hasn't been fixed.
