Stealth Inc 2, absolutely! That game got a great review in ONM, but that review only covered the gameplay (not the co-op mode or the editor). The game footage I've seen so far has been brilliant.
And will most probably get Tetrobot & Co as well. And perhaps Cosmophony. I'll also get DKC 3, just to have the complete trilogy. Too much games now...
@rjejr It's 1080p. On YouTube, you can watch the gameplay in the 1080p direct feeds from GameXplain (and set the setting to 1080p), where it's clear that it's 1080p. For a game like SSB, the gameplay will actually gain something from the 1080p (such as in the 4+ player modes). For games like MK8, the gameplay works extremely well in motion at 720p, IMO.
To those who complain about the opening cinematic, do you take into account that you get a "movies" section in SSB U as well?
I never experienced DKC back in the days, but I bought this on the eShop based on the high praise from others. To me, this is a dated and overrated game, as a game in itself. But it's interesting as a history lesson to see where it all started. DKC2 is a huge improvement, IMO. Nevertheless, I'll buy the 3rd as well on the eShop, just to have the trilogy. It makes me appreciate Tropical Freeze even more.
@Smash_kirby @Palunken Yes, I agree with you. There's no way they would market this as 1080p if it was 720p. Upscaling is not an increase of resolution. The point of the HD here is of outmost importance for the large stages. And @ThomasBW84, there are other 1080p games available, such as Wind Waker HD and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. A game like MK8 is much more graphically demanding than SSB U, with all the background animations, particle and lighting effects.
@rjejr It hasn't been promoted much, since it was just announced. The speculation about 8 player was based on the leaked 3DS sound file. You can also use the 3DS as controllers, and it doesn't require 8 players. Just the ability to be able to play 5 players is a great value to me.
@sinalefa I interpreted it the other way around when I read it a couple months ago: that the SDK would be able to detect and read/write to any Nintendo Amiibo. But now I can't find the quote I was thinking about, so perhaps I just got it all wrong.
@sinalefa It's probably a late decision made by Tecmo Koei, not a decision made by Nintendo. Someone (Reggie or Miyamoto) said that they would open up Amiibos for 3rd party developers. It would be cool to see if indie games could do something innovative with them.
@LavaTwilight The Facebook announcement says "50 new things", which I personally interpret as "things that weren't in the 3DS version". For example, I would consider the Photo Editor to be a "new thing", since we haven't seen it in action and how it has changed compared to the Brawl version.
@rjejr @GregDavisBlows Perhaps you're right. It might be the other way around to what I thought: since Sakurai said the announcement would be soon, Amazon felt they could reveal the marketing material they've got.
I'd say this is an intended leak from Nintendo. This comes after the Sakurai interview saying that they're working on an announcement that will be available soon. What they need to do now is to create a buzz before the announcement takes place. What better place to do that than Amazon? They revealed the marketing text to Amazon after that, with only the board game as the big news.
It'll be great! I doubt that this feature (or the Stage Builder) will be anything similar to the limited user interface that Brawl had. The Gamepad is so much more well suited for these kind of editing tasks.
@ikki5 If you believe you can be a manager for a product like SSB U + SSB 3DS within a timeframe of 4 year period by working office hours, you need a reality check. And if you think Japanese game developers are well paid for their work, you might need another reality check. You might also want to look in the book "The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers Volume 1" for the unnaturally long list of Japanese game developers who have died in pretty young years.
@Capt_N If you think gamers in general get a bad rap anyway, wouldn't the suggestion by @WinterWarm regarding self-control seem like an excellent start in another direction?
@noctowl Assuming you're not joking by linking to a Wikipedia article, what's so clean about having to take care of a bunch of carbon and toxic products?
Nintendo usually keep silent before they got some great stuff to show, and if they need more time to make the game really great, they extend the development time. I appreciate that approach.
I think a SSB U Nintendo Direct is pretty close now, since Nintendo can't post many more teaser shots like the one today before people get annoyed about the teasing. The 3DS had the embargo for reviewers set to one week before release, IIRC. Nintendo will probably use a similar approach for the Wii U version, so that would mean 5 weeks until reviews appear. And I guess Nintendo wants all modes, stages, feature, etc to be known well before that.
The Tokyo EAD has clearly built on their knowledge from SM3DW, with more details with surfaces, reflections and light sources. This game seems to be set more in dark places than 3D World, to make use of Captain Toad's lamp. If the Tokyo EAD is actually working on a new Mario game for the Wii U as the rumors say, I really look forward to that one.
@MadAdam81 Having played both Hyrule Warriors and the Bayo 2 demo, the graphics differences between these 2 games are huge. And dropping from 60fps occasionally down to 40-45 fps (in places where gameplay doesn't matter, if I understand the reviews correctly) is quite different to dropping to the levels in HW local 2-player during crucial gameplay.
@ricklongo I listened to the new music from the levels on the Japanese site, and it doesn't seem to feature the live-musician production values found in 3D World, MK8 (and even Galaxy 1+2).
@markybbop Perhaps @MrV4ltor wants to chime in with some tips on contacting indie developers? He seems to have been successful getting quite a few developers to make Wii U ports.
@sam_robinson So nice to see you post here! And great that you do some proper marketing, which is an area where lots of great Wii U indie games fail IMO. I really look forward to your game and to see the level editor in action.

Re: Feature: Breaking Down Over 50 Must-See Things in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
@BulbasaurusRex Have you played the game? From the reports from San Fransisco I have looked at, the testers seem to be very positive about #5 and #6.
Re: Feature: Breaking Down Over 50 Must-See Things in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
@ThomasBW84 Regarding Mario Kart 8, Nintendo never said 1080p AFAIK, Nintendo said "HD" and some people incorrectly interpreted that to 1080p. They also published most of their screen shots for MK8 in 720p. That's a big difference. With SSB U, Nintendo seems to consistently have said 1080p, at least since E3 2013.
Here are some old links:

Re: You Can Use The Wii U GamePad For Voice Chat, Stage Building And More In Super Smash Bros.
@rjejr @damo I only heard "later" for the Miiverse stage, content sharing and Mewtwo character. EDIT: Tourneys/Tournaments also later.
Re: You Can Use The Wii U GamePad For Voice Chat, Stage Building And More In Super Smash Bros.
The way the Gamepad was used to draw the stages was one of the most impressive display of use of the Gamepad yet.

Re: Shovel Knight For Wii U & 3DS Launches In Europe And Australia This November
Great! So many games now. Bayonetta 2, DKC 1-3 VC, Stealth Inc 2, Shovel Knight, SSB U, Sonic, and more. I probably have to skip Sonic for now.
