@Flopsy86 Mario Party 10 will be released much sooner than that IMO. It's one of the very few games that has box art (found on the NoA site), it is one of 2 Wii U games that is currently classified for Australia, the amiibo support is set, and apparently the NoA eShop lists it as "coming soon".
Teslagrad, Guacamelee and SteamWorld Dig, etc at those discount prices are a steal. Really. Good to see NoE collecting some really good indies into a discount package.
@rjejr Thanks, I meant Swords & Soldiers 2, I just can't spell. I got Swords & Soldiers HD on the Wii U, and we've enjoyed the 2-player mode quite a bit.
@sailornic Only 10 in this list (9 Nintendo games and 1 indie). There are 4 other known Nintendo titles and probably 50-100 indie titles (but I guess only 10-20 of them are really good). And some other stuff will probably also arrive.
Regarding Donkey Kong games, 2015 is the year where we will find out if the rumour about Monster Games developing Diddy Kong Racing 2 is true or not. I doubt Retro is working on its 3rd Donkey Kong game in a row, it's more likely they're working on a Metroid right now.
The only games on this list I'm interested in are: The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Star Fox, Yoshi's Woolly World, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Party 10, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Devil's Third and Affordable Space Adventures. I'm also interested in games like Mario vs. Donkey Kong U and the 2 Miyamoto "Project" games, and quite a couple of indie games, like Hex Heroes and Swords & Soldiers HD.
Tengami is an experience that I would not like to have on an iPad. The HD screen and good sound is absolutely essential. A pity that the sales aren't good. It would be nice if Wii U users would start discovering other things than VC titles and Shovel Knight. There are quite a few gems on the eShop.
FWIW, when Hiroshi Yamauchi created the departments that would be known as EADs in Kyoto in the beginning of the 1980s, he set up each EAD as a closed department competing with the other departments. That internal competitive approach seems to be all gone now, with Miyamoto working with all EADs, and Iwata setting up a new Kyoto building where the hardware and software departments work closely together.
Great article! The Wii U version of Steamworld Dig is a really nice and well-implemented game. The Gamepad implementation is straightforward and enhances the gameplay quite a bit.
Curve Digital has become one of my favorites eShop game studio. They have brought a number of high-quality titles to the eShop. My favorite so far is Stealth Inc. 2, which was a great game with a fantastic Wii U implementation.
The only question I have is: What is Miyamoto doing in the US right now? He wasn't at The Game Awards 9 days ago, AFAIK. An upcoming Nintendo Direct or Nintendo Minute with Miyamoto in the studio?

@darthllama Again, compare the weekly sales pre-MK8 and post-MK8 without counting any peak. I'm not talking about "blips", I'm talking about the new constant level relative to what it was before. And I'm not talking about any other console.
@Action51 Quite frankly I don't care about the console sales. I'm not a Nintendo shareholder. But I don't appreciate when people just produce spam based on non-facts. I think the Wii U has a really good selection of great games, that's all I care about.
@sinalefa The Smash U online docs says "Save data is usually shared between all users on the console, but for some functions, such as Online mode, it is saved separately for each user."
@maneauleau Smash is the only Nintendo Wii U game I know of that doesn't support user account save files. And it's also the only Nintendo Wii U game that doesn't support the touch screen when selecting buttons on the screen.
@Gerbwmu Different user accounts are pretty good for kids, if you have lots of eShop games. That way, you can arrange the icons in an accessible way for each kid.
@shigulicious A player at NeoGAF that completed everything in Captain Toad reported 19 hours total.
NL: Should we interpret the fact that this interview doesn't include any info about the future amiibo support as a sign that there will be a separate announcement about that soon?
@electrolite77 Well, for MK8 it was "it's only 59 fps when using CPU players and that repeated 59th frame can't be unseen". Smash Wii U occasionally drops to 58 fps in 8-player Smash, but they say it doesn't matters for gameplay.
@readyletsgo No, it's not in yen. The 1 billion dollars is the value of the whole smart toy market (also including Disney Infinity and Skylanders). Reggie's quote was misused by Bloombergs. https://twitter.com/Emi1yRogers/status/541764262730149888
This is brilliant! I saw Ultratron on Steam, seems like a really great twin-sticks shooter game for consoles. Curve makes really good ports of great games to the Wii U eShop, and their own Stealth Inc. 2 is simply fantastic!
@darthllama And if the 1st party titles don't interest the users, why would it be in Nintendo's interest to get those users? The other 2 consoles need lots of consoles users early on, since the paid subscription services during a long period of time is a main source of revenue. For Nintendo, it's the attach rate to first party titles that creates the revenue.
@allav866 I actually support Reggie for not dumping prices, from a business side of things. Price dumping reduces the value of products, just look what Steam sales do to gamers' buying patterns. Removing Kinect from a launched product+price dumping is a completely different business strategy. Personally, I'm cool if Reggie waits for people to say "there's no way I'm paying $300 for a machine just to be able to play Mario Kart 8, Super Smash U, Zelda U, Splatoon, Metroid U, Starfox U, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, Yoshi's Wooly World, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Metroid U, Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Wonderful 101, Captain Toad:Treasure Tracker, Devil's Third, etc, etc".
This is such a great game, brilliant test chambers and hub world design! I have completed the main game, but haven't rescued all the clones yet or found all the secret test chambers. Without a doubt one of the top eShop games available.
I have just tested the level editor a little bit, but the kids has made quite a few levels for personal use. One small "problem" with the editor seems to be that you can upload a level even if it hasn't been tested as solvable? (In Pushmo World for example, you must play the level through before you can share it.)
@Incognito_D The 8GB would be too small if you plan to get the MK8 DLCs and similar stuff. You only have something like 4 GB free. Game updates (I'd expect the Smash U update to be quite large), system updates, the MK8 DLCs would pretty soon occupy that.
@sinalefa The BAFTA web site says the category is called "Game in 2014". 2 of the other titles were released late 2013. Rayman Legends seem to live by its own time rules, in a number of ways.

@johannes_v Another question: will it support both Wiimotes and Pro Controllers for the multiplayer modes?
Re: Mobile Hit Badland Is Coming To The Wii U eShop
@johannes_v Wow! The multiplayer addition settles it for me! I played the iPad version, and the levels are really well made!
