Whilst North American Nintendo fans have been enjoying Shovel Knight for what feels like an eternity now, Wii U and 3DS owners in other parts of the world are still yet to experience the joys of this medieval side-scroller.
Thankfully, the wait is nearly finally over for these remaining locations, with developer Yacht Club Games today announcing the game would be made available in both Europe and Australia this November.
So there you have it; after ongoing testing phases including classification, Shovel Knight will finally be released in both Europe and Australia next month. If you live in either of these areas, let us know in the comments if you’re still excited for the arrival of this game on the Wii U and 3DS eShops.

Going to enjoy playing this when I go back home in December.
Finally. I still feel kinda cheated in a way that I backed the game and people who didn't get to play the game before I did in America and on steam.
Still can't wait to get my code but I will be honest I am not as excited to play it now then I was when they sent me a code to only find out it was an US 3ds code.
I don't really care anymore.
Finally! But please don't troll us by releasing it on the last week!
Yes! I can't wait to play this game!
I'll probably pick it up on sale but I got the Steam version almost 6 months ago. The game is great but in this era where 99% of games get simultaneous release on North America and Europe, such a delay really isn't accepeable.
November will be so awesome. I have to play Smash, Bayo 1 and 2, Hyrule Warriors and Shove Knight! I think I need at least 2 hours more per day to play everything ^^
@Josaku What about Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire? Even if it is a late Nov release.
I have been waiting for this! But because of the long wait I am no longer as excited. Don't think I will rush buying it, maybe wait for a sale.
Yess, finally, Ty, will get it on my Wii U for sure,
How many regions does Australia supposedly have? =P
What a long wait for a highly anticipated game. Download on day 1 of availability!
Trust me peoples, the game is a masterpiece.
This is not the place to brag about piracy — TBD
Finally! It's been painful trying to avoid the spoilers of the many people praising this game.
That said, I believe it was quite pricey to download, and by the time it comes out I'll have Scram Kitty and his Buddy On Rails, Costume Quest 2, The Legend of Dark Witch, Stealth Inc. 2, Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, and hopefully Nihilumbra all vying to be bought and downloaded. Even when it comes out, I may have to wait on getting this game, depending on it's price compared to the other download games that will be available around the time.
@Josaku dont forget the Mario kart DLC
Sweet
@Nintendian By 'free' do you mean you pirated the game?
I'll be going for it! My poor poor wallet...
Well it better be released at a discounted price... Otherwise, that ship has sailed.
I Won't complain about this as I've been playing the Steam version after deciding i'd waited long enough, I'd like to see how the 3DS version will fare against the steam version, 3D effect etc i'm Loving everything about this game so far, as well as the stellar chiptunes xD.
@BLPs Don't look at the internet then? I find it's better not to know too much about games before buying them.
Super excited for this. November is going to be a cracking month.
Now I wish I was European. Not only would I be getting DKC on the Virtual Console, I'd also be able to experience this masterpiece for the first time all over again.
@ricklongo Yeah I'm contemplating whether to get the DKC SNES original trilogy or Shovel Knight as I was going to get the trilogy as I wasn't sure if it would get past final testing by the end of the year when my Platinum membership runs out. I might get both and forget about Megaman X as I've played the original 6 NES games so I don't want to start something where I only play the original due to the first being the most influential. Had to forget the original DK Land game for this as well. ;(
Great! So many games now. Bayonetta 2, DKC 1-3 VC, Stealth Inc 2, Shovel Knight, SSB U, Sonic, and more. I probably have to skip Sonic for now.
And then they will complain that the game does not sell that well in Europe...
Too late. I don't care anymore.
Well I haven't yet for round to getting the steam version, so i may as well wait for the 3ds one.
This is good news a bit late but better late then never.
And to those who "don't care" or "lost interest" You probably never cared enough for this game in the first place but that's my view of things
Now lets hope shantae turns out well and together with phoenix wright this could be a good holiday season for my 3DS
Still a day one purchase for me. Been resisting the temptation to spend my eshop credit on DLC for MK8 or Hyrule Warriors waiting for this. All of the above plus the Phoenix Wright Trilogy, it's gonna be an expensive period in the eshop.
Joking asides, I'll grab this on Wii U when it comes
@ToxieDogg Haha xD my exact reaction to this news!
I'm so glad you guys all get to play this soon. Is still my GOTY so far.
It's just like the good old days when Europe gets the games months later.
