@IceClimbers I don't think it's likely. The article says that the NX is a completely different way of playing games than previous systems, but that details about NX will be revealed during 2016. If it indeed is a completely different way of playing games, don't you think they would want more time to than just a few months between announcement and release to market their new ideas?
@OorWullie Art Academy: Ateliere is different enough to be considered a new title IMO, although it is somewhat based on old things. I agree with you about the rest, and would like to through in NES remix and the free amiibo tap game into the games which lacks innovative ideas. Generally, the indies impress much more in the eShop-only games category than Nintendo's own offerings.
@daniruy It's the Wii U version that's lacking graphically. It was one of the very first Wii U titles released, and the HD inexperience shows. Comparing NSMBU graphically now with other Wii U 2D platformers like Yoshi's Woolly World, Tropical Freeze, Rayman Legends, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse doesn't do NSMBU any favors.
It's a very very fun (although simple) local-play party game, one of the very best! This game got no hype on release though, which I think killed it (probably together with the art style and game name).
@cyrus_zuo It's not a complicated game at all. Compared to Runbow, Starwhal, Smash, it's extremely easy to grasp. But compared to those other games however, Toto Temple Deluxe is much more limited in what it offers to the players.
@NintyMan @amiiboacid The Splatoon development cycle was around 20 months until the first release of the game (in May 2015). In total, it's a more-than-2-year development cycle when all additional content is taken into account. It's a medium-sized development time for a Nintendo game.
Runbow is a great game! Full of content and very fun!!! One of the very best on the eShop! Hoping Runbow builds a solid online community in the future.
@Souldin Have you played the S levels of Yoshi's Woolly World, and level 4 and above? That's where most of the true magic is.
@Franklin As an IP, Splatoon will be more than remembered in a few years time. A new IP that sells more than any Metroid game (on a console with less users that those other previous consoles) such things don't happen every day.
The top 3 on the Wii U eShop list all absolutely deserve to be there. Really great games! After that, there are too many good games that compete. Minecraft would probably be at a higher spot if it released earlier in the year. Xenoblade X got punished for being a large-scale niche game released late in the year, but Splatoon is undoubtedly the GOTY. Stay fresh!
@Dezzy NoE hasn't split the roles as NoA has. CEOs are Japanese for both NoA and NoE. The CEO for NoA is Japanese (the same as for NCL), while Shibata is CEO for NoA.
@rjejr If this is sloppy port, what is Smash for the Wii U? Minecraft for Wii U supports both menu selections on the touch screen and using the control buttons. Smash for Wii U only supports that on very few limited menu screens.
@Sylveon The game is just version updates. There's no optional DLCs to download for Splatoon. It will update automatically, and to be able to play online everyone need to be on the latest version.
@rjejr Museum d'Alfonsino contains single player material (rotating platforms). And Mahi Mahi Resort contains elements that extend ideas from the single player campaign (long timed jumps).
@Pokefanmum82 It's NintendoLife that's using the term "DLC support". It's content updates that aren't optional. You will not be able to play Splatoon online unless you have the latest version update.
@OorWullie A very good question. Week-by-week, the Wii U sold more than 20,000 units above previous year's weekly result (that had Smash as a fairly new title). Clearly, the new (high-priced) Wii U bundle with Splatoon and SMM is of interest for the Japanese market for the holidays this year. Week 51+52+1 are the strongest weeks in Japan, so we should expect the figures to increase even more than this the next weeks. Week 52 2014 was 43,950 units in Japan.
@Peach64 Minecraft players double dip and play it on multiple devices. We have it on 3 different devices already and the kids want a Wii U version as well.
@IceClimbers Yes, Minecraft is the most obvious guess, given the things Damon do at his job. It would not be a Nintendo-developed thing if he is involved.
@BornInNorway81 Version 2.0.0 added LAN support (where up to 8 Wii Us could be played locally using a single internet connection). I haven't seen it been used much though, but I think that's how the Treehouse tournament will work.

Looks really fun! Any detailed release window for this game?
Re: Minecraft: Story Mode Hits The Wii U eShop This Week
I'll get this for the kids. How many players are supported?

@Phil_Kavadias It's the 60hz version:

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st January (Europe)
@BarryDunne Yes, I'm wondering the same about the european release of Shadow Puppeteer. Perhaps it got pushed to next week?
EDIT: Apparently, it has been moved to next week.

@Gerbwmu You're probably right, based on what Kimishima revealed today.

@Phantom_R AFAIK, Smash only support 1 view.

Re: Video: Splatoon Easter Egg Shows a Friendly Face
@megamanlink If the NX releases in 2017 or 2018, a new Splatoon game as a launch title would be doable.
Re: Yusuke Hashimoto Talks Star Fox Zero and Collaborating with Nintendo
@Grumblevolcano No signs points anywhere regarding NX. "More info about NX" in 2016 is all we know, and we still don't know what NX is.

Re: Feature: A Year in Development - 13AM Games
@GoldenGamer88 Runbow has pretty extensive single player campaigns as well. (But it's multiplayer with many players that's the most chaotic/fun.)

Re: Review: SmileBASIC (3DS eShop)

Re: Feature: Time to Vote for Your Nintendo Life Game of the Year Awards 2015
Splatoon is the GOTY, with Yoshi 2nd and Xenoblade X 3rd, with Mario Maker on a honorable mention spot.
It's easiest to select the 3 top ones on the Wii U eShop titles: Affordable Space Adventures, Runbow and FAST Racing NEO are the ones that stands out.
Re: Review: SteamWorld Heist (3DS eShop)
I guess they will do a similar excellent job with Wii U HD version as they did with Steamworld Dig. I will absolutely get that version.
Re: Review: FAST Racing NEO (Wii U eShop)
@Peach64 There are many more reviews out by now.
Re: Minecraft Finally Digs Its Way Onto the Wii U eShop on 17th December
We'll double-dip once again here. Day 1. The kids demands this on the Wii U, although they already have it on PC and iPad.
Seriously, this game MUST have free amiibo skins.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th December (Europe)
FAST Racing NEO.

Amazingly low price. I was expecting a higher price tag on this one. Day 1 of course!
Re: Rumour: NX Set for 2016 Release With Nintendo Targeting 20 Million Shipped Units
Here's the original rumor article from July 02. Just because they post the same erratic material twice doesn't mean it's correct.

@ThomasBW84 it's really terrible that you don't put more research into the articles. Putting it under a "rumor" tag doesn't help.
Re: Rumour: NX Set for 2016 Release With Nintendo Targeting 20 Million Shipped Units
This is based on a 6 month old rumor that was debunked once. The lack of journalism at NL is...not good.

Minecraft for Wii U.
Re: Nintendo of Europe Confirms Its Second Batch of eShop Cyber Deals
