Every new Pokémon game brings with it new features, new Pokémon, and the subject of this video, new moves. We decided to check through all the new moves Pokémon Sun and Moon has to offer and compile our top five that we consider to be the best because Golisipod isn't getting nearly enough love in our eyes.
What are your five favourite new moves? Let us know by leaving a comment down below.

Z-Splash
First Impression is by far my favorite new move.
@Issi that's my vote, it's such a flashy looking and devastating move. Plus I really like Magearna's design.
Zed move? Can Alex not pronounce Z?
@abbyhitter Alex might be from the UK. It's just a thought.
Choice banded Araquanid using Liquidation in the rain is beyond scary...
@AlexOlney Being from the UK should not stop you from saying Z. Zee. Not Zed.
@abbyhitter @Mega_Yarn_Poochy
@AlexOlney Oops. I completely misread your comment. Don't mind me...
@abbyhitter Nah Zed-Move sounds heaps cooler anyway.
@AlexOlney Whatever your attitude is towards saying "Zed", it's still wrong. No amount of accent or dialect will change it from "Z". Whoever is "hearting" your responses clearly has a strong opinion of saying "Zed" too.
@abbyhitter Even when it's a Japanese person speaking 'engrish', like the origins of this game, they pronounce it zed.

'Zee' sounds cooler and works better for the alphabet song in my opinion, and that's the one I go with, but the English speaking world outside of our wonderful country (Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand) go with "Zed". Which as the language didn't come from this hemisphere, much like English spellings, I don't see the need in 'correcting' to the American version.
And if it grates on you that much, talk about aluminum and you'll make them feel the same.
Small Move/Pokemon Spoilers:
I was freaking out when I found out Leech Life was 80 power for the first time.
There are some really random new moves this Gen. Anchor Shot is really odd considering the only Pokemon that can use such a move, and I really want to see Burn Up. Like the only Pokemon that can learn Burn Up naturally are unobtainable or only found via Island Scan!
I'd have to say Sparkling Aria, Shadow Bone, Spirit Shackle, Liquidation, and Sunsteel Strike. All of those have really nice animations too.
5. Burn Up
4. First Impression
3. Solar Blade
2. Lunge
1. Baneful Bunker
@abbyhitter In the UK, we pronounce "z" as "zed" and this is the correct way as we are proper Englishmen
@abbyhitter
Eh... in Indonesia Z is pronounced "Zed", not Zee.
@abbyhitter
Romantic languages call it Zede, English dialect is Zed, American English say Ze, there are even those who say Z as in zuh...theres no right or wrong, he can call them zeta-moves if he wants as its not what you hear but what you understand, you knew what he meant so it shouldn't matter how he said it
Top 6 new favorite moves
1. First Impression
2. Accelerock
3. Liquidation
4. Beak blast
5. Spirit Shackle
6. Zed splash
@AlexOlney Hey Alex, I was meaning to tell you that you also breath too much. Don't steal that much oxygen, i'ts for everyone! Geez, you make so many IMPORTANT stuff wrong that I need to point it out!
The only competitively viable pokemon that get Leech Life are Mimikyu and Buzzwole, which means it actually won't be common at all in the competitive scene, Mildred.
I like pokemon and the letter zed.
No amount of explanations or defenses you may come up with, "Zed" moves is still wrong. Zee is the correct pronunciation.
@papershrimp @craigmoss19
What really matters is how the japanese people who named it pronounce it.
Dark Lariat is my new fav Zed move. So much zed.
just saying it right now and i was right whimpod does evolve into a monstrously powerful pokemon but i agree so much with this list even if its questionable what with it having leech life and splash though i guess z splash does work.
@abbyhitter The primary exception, of course, is in the United States where “z” is pronounced “zee”. The British and others pronounce “z”, “zed”, owing to the origin of the letter “z”, the Greek letter “Zeta”. This gave rise to the Old French “zede”, which resulted in the English “zed” around the 15th century.
Unfortunately almost the entire rest of the World disagrees with you as does the origin of the letter. Perhaps sometimes everyone else isn't wrong?
@abbyhitter
In Canada we traditionally pronounce Z as Zed, and i'm sure that is also the case in other english speaking British Commonwealth countries because of our closer ties to Britian.
@Stoobes It also helps that Canada has closer ties to the French, where the English pronunciation comes from.
@abbyhitter gosh the amount of ignorance in your comments in astounding
Hello lovely people - Olney, A.
Wow, leech life got that much of a buff?! Im surprised!
If z is pronounced zed then why is like zero not pronounced zedro lol . Gotta love pronunciation and the alphabet nothing ever makes sense.
I'm just enjoying the game and not theorycrafting it to death
Z splash was funny at first, but overall it's just a gimmick. Swords dance + life orb is better in almost all cases, because you can always use swords dance more than once or switch out
Trop Kick, Moongeist Beam, Sparkling Aria, Solar Blade
Thanks for spoiling a new Pokémon in the article pic!
