@rjejr Sacramento's alright, Austin has some nice locales and fooderies, Honolulu is fantastic, and Atlanta is always a good time. You aint wrong though, most the time, avoid the state capitals. We would know cough Albany cough.
@NEStalgia Don't forget our many Native American reserves, which some (like the Navajo Nation) are big enough to have their own international diplomacy. That part is always very confusing haha.
What a system we Americans got. Complex and confusing, yet I guess it works out in the end. I mean, except for the south, but that's its own can of worms
@Blizzia You're acting like having one capital fixes it. We also have one capital, Washington DC. Everyone here knows it and so does anyone outside the country.
Meanwhile, most of our population doesnt care about the capital of Portugal. I know valedictorians who know jack about geography.
But, you know what would fix these problems from leaking into articles and inciting stupid comments like yours?
@Juma009 IKR?! I am a bit flabbergasted to see it. I mean, it is technically niche, but I heard many people talking about it. Maybe it was just word of mouth, didnt see any posters or in store catalogs mention it. Hopefully iy does better in other regions.
@Seacliff Yeah, was considering a subtitle. Just couldn't come up with one that fit. Yours is definitely better than the "reboot with the same name" as it isn't a reboot.
I like Yokai Watch and want it to succeed. I really did enjoy the first game, but was in a weird mindset when the second one released. The anime was definitely good fun to watch as well (though, I couldnt help but feel guilty in using too much time to watch). Hoping to get back into the series with 3.
The only real thing I didnt like about the original was event yokai. That was something I would've prefered them not to borrow from Pokemon.
Last note: Good profile pic. Blizzaria is great <3
Honestly, thats probably a lot better of timing. Just after Pokemon Lets Go sales slow and just before the anticipation of Pokemon 2018. The less time to compare it to the established series, the better.
I can't help but feel they should pish more effort into Watch 4 localization. I think they should even localize 4 but call it just "Yokai Watch". Introduces new people to the series easier.
@Yosheel I hope so too. I always hated how the Walking Dead show (and zombie media in general) believe that an ending open to interperation is the only option. I enjoy me some concise endings, and if they actually do it, then Ill finally buy in. Might be a little late though...
Just realized that Dragon Ball FighterZ is gonna be locked behind the Nintendo online. Sigh... that can't be good for its player base. Its like one of the only fighting games I'm willing to play, but now this?
I'm whining. I get that, I understand. Guess I'll just become the best Super Butoden player on the planet. But wait, I can only get it with a preorder? My life is ruined.
Writing funny comments are hard. The fine line between sarcasm and whining is thin and dotted. Very excited for this game, and it's one of the only reasons I am getting the online. Hope others are able to play with!
Edit: Also, I remember that Steins;Gate is doing a similar thing with pre-orders. What is this and why is it spreading? Fire should help.
@MoonKnight7 I think this spreading announcements across the year is begining to bite them in the ass. E3 would've been a lot more interesting with a Bayo 3 reveal and Home. Still, doesnt make this direct any less amazing
@link3710 Oh, well, at least the devs nice enough haha. I know it sounds weird but I love hearing sales numbers. Makes me happy the developers are getting the love they deserve, and apparently, the love was strong enough for the beard to go ;P
Lovely sales. Didn't actually ever expect Ubisoft to post official sales numbers, as they don't even seem to do that for their most popular series. And what a game to report on!
I really appreciate Ubisoft so far. The fact that they are trying their best to cater to us fans (like with Starlink) and gifting good ports like Child of Light and Valiant Hearts. Hope there's more incoming!
Oh yeah, and this game is sick. One of my favorites on the Switch. Not enjoying the DLC as much, but still a good addition to an already solid and fun game.
@ReaderRagfish I don't agree with that mindset, but I guess I can understand. Me personally, I would never separate the triple A market and the indie market. They are together part of the greater gaming sphere. I will admit, without Triple A, indies don't exist and the same does not apply vice versa. But many of the games I have enjoyed on Switch have been, well, indie games.
As I say that, hype is 100% different between the two. The only way for indie games to get exposure is pretty much word of mouth. That's a problem in of itself as the "hype" is usually a very VERY local minority who enjoys this type of game. Which may not be everyone.
If I may, the way you are looking at it is not flawed, but I think holding triple A to a different standard is not the greatest of ideas. If you give Undertale a shot matters nothing to me, but I hope you won't skip over a potential gem for you simply because the indie market works differently. Have a good day (or night, you know, timezones).
@TimLatshaw There's a crapton of games that have much less reviews than even that, and get zero exposure. I'm not doubting that a lot of those are from poor quality, but I'm sure tons of hidden gems have been missed over because of review numbers.
Eight is a good enough amount for a indie game. Not many websites are like NintendoLife and has time to review a lot of nindies.
So, why are they complaining? Because Nintendo themselves aren't marketing their game. As someone who is going into the publishing business, EVERY market is like that. Market your own damn product, it is no one else's responsibility.
@ReaderRagfish You play Earthbound? Not only is Undertale inspired by it, the feeling is pretty similar there too. Most people tend to applaud the story and its quirkiness over its gameplay. This is because at first the gameplay is a bit archaic. Over time however, the gameplay grows on you. The fanbase at first did not realize how good the game was until years later.
Now, take all of that (except the years later part) and you have a great description of Undertale. The gameplay is good, but people believe the selling point is the story. More so the dialogue.
And, I'm sure you have your reasons, but judging based off a fanbase is a bit cruel. I enjoy some of the Sonic games but because the fanbase is "toxic", people immediately scoff.
All this is coming from a guy who has never played it. Even my non-gamer friends were able to get into it so I hope you could think about it.
@Lina-MG It is in the sense that the field, the drops and the unlocks are all somewhat random. You are correct though, it is a tactical game first and foremost.
If you are very lucky and pull through, the game is only 30 minutes at max. The real fun comes with trying it with different squads which all play vastly different. Some are much harder than others, but as you play, you learn more and more about them.
If that doesn't sound fun to you, trust me, it didn't at first to me either. I can understand how that would scare away some customers, but I would recommend it even as a die-hard single player petitioner.
100%'d this game on PC. I urge everyone to give it a shot, it is the funnest roguelite (or like whatever) that I've played. Its barely even a rogue as all the replay value is actually tied into the game. God do I love it.
@BLD @Bunkerneath You are correct. Didn't realize how easy it was to turn something into a harmful acronym as a child so just wanted to share a story of childhood ignorance.
@thesilverbrick Yeah, it was a joke. Probably not the funniest one since it began confusion. For the uninformed, the KKK is a hate group in the United States. Naming something with that acronym would incite some uproar, even from a British company like Rare which might have no clue about its meaning. Good thing they kept it Rool, either on accident or on purpose.
@Cobalt 38 years of gaming experience and you still can't see the value in a good port? Have you not seen the comparisons between Valkyria on Switch and PS4? There's almost ZERO difference. Does anyone really need Megaman 11 in top pixel count? Were you a Jaguar fan just because it was "64 bit"?
God, I dont even know why I'm getting into this arguement. Its just another meaningless online debate.
Oh yeah, cause you annoy me. You annoy me and, from what I can tell, you annoy almost everypne here. You probably hold yourself up so high (why do I even say probably. There's no doubt). We arent annoyed cause you have a differing opinion. Its because you won't stop until everyone knows your name you egotistical tick.
You're 42, can't you waste your time on something else? Because, since you probably cant understand, nobody wants you here. I happen to like this place you pathetic party pooper.
@thesilverbrick Yes, there is. Was going to respond to you but another commenter did it for me. It is called a "limited edition" but in reality only really adds a soundtrack. I do not believe they would be able to track it on the charts if it was digital only.
Honestly, wouldn't be surprised if a good amount of the numbers it did sell was from importing. I never got on that, probably should've. 10 GB digital is really huge.
And yes, it does support English. If you can find one, then you'd be golden.
@bluemujika Honestly, its mostly annoying the "organization" side of me rather than the gamer side of me. I just want to know if its going to have a physical so I can put it on the list
@MrToad The real weird thing is that a lot of the games from now on are going to be physical. Stuff like Namco Museum Arcade Pac, One Hero's Justice, Dragon Ball FighterZ (which like you said is expected) and Tales of Vesperia. This is the odd one out for the second half of the year, which is a real shame.
So, uh, what about North America? Can I finally be able to beat on a drum that wouldn't make my neighbors complain (as much)? Bandai Namco is teasing me too hard now ;(
I have been the biggest Ubisoft supporter for the Switch, I very much appreciate the fact that they are supporting the console. Rayman Legends, Mario Rabbids and its DLC, South Park Fractured But Whole, and plan to buy Starlink. I even bought Monopoly and have only played a full game once (though, in that case, it was only 20$). They also have the best sales on retail sites with games going low often. Only games I haven't purchased are Just Dance because they are not suited for me.
On another note, anyone have UNO? I want to also purchase it, but am a little scared the online player base isn't up to snuff.
Never played it, going in blind. Bit of a shame its 60. Not even a shame for me because I planned to get it anyways, but does this already niche game need to scare away any more buyers? Maybe it'll surpass the expectations I have set, but I doubt it.
@Balta666 Yeah, I know the situation. Theres a reason why the series took so long to come back. I have already conceeded the fact that Japan will never fully appreciate the games, but imo, the other games in America were just due to mistimming or lack of advertising.
Thankfully word of mouth has been Metroid's kindest friend. Switch will lilely be over gamecube numbers by the time Prime 4 comes out, and surpass the sales of any game in the series (except maybe the original). Its also the best fitting console thus far for any 3D immersive game.
Just, you know, I feel bad for Samus Returns. Just like so many Metroid games, it was doomed by the moving audience and some bad press (amiibo content locking). At least MercurySteam seem pretty happy about it (from an article a sometime in July).
@Silly_G I can see your reasoning, but here's why I think Eevee is a more interesting pick. As far as starters have gone, it has been the typical fire water grass, with pikachu being the exception. Eevee being a normal type breaks that mold and is not a bad choice for a new type to experiment with. If Jiggly or Clefairy were still normal, that would be great, but as they are fairy types now, it just feels weird and especially so in a gen 1 remake (a gen where fairy didnt exist).
Magikarp though? Would be not only a brave decision, but one that would be successful. Kids are quirky, they dont just simply want the cutest fake animal, magikarp would be a fun and memorable pick.
@Carnictis Thank you very much, always afraid to spam a forum. Makes me feel like Im controlling discussion. Hope its untrue
@sandman89 I know you're joking, but now you got me worrying. How did Samus Returns sell? From my knowledge, none of Nintendos quaterly reports had even mentioned the game. Does it fall out of Nintendos report because of Mercury Steam not being true first party?
I really do hope it was a success. Third favorite game of 2017 behind Mario and Zelda. Im am 2000% sure Metroid Prime 4 will do better considering the state of fps, the console its on, the influx of more mature game buyers, and its recognizability (even people who never playd Prime got hyped).
Ive posted three text walls in this article alone lol. I just love talking about the 3DS. Its life is almost over, why not reminicise?
@Silly_G I know that sounds like a valid buisness strategy, but imagining a pokemon game with four different possible copies gives me nightmares for the parents. Hell, my sister would probably buy into it. For now, I'm thankful the less sophisticated Lets Go is console exclusive.
Though, imagine if it was a theoretical third version, what pokemon could it even be? Jigglypuff? Clefairy? Its like being the youngest child and getting the worst of wear handmedowns haha.
It's not gonna change anytime soon, unless a mysterious pokemon game appears from thin air. Good list too. As I am one of the few Tomodachi Life appreciaters, the game is a nice cap.
@EightBitMan You are right in some degree, Nintendo does need new series. However, why can't they coexist? Expand the markets. Doubt it will ever happen, especially since Nintendo themselves believes they make only kiddy games the hardest, but would be sweet. I do like the new crossover betweens the Warriors franchise, but thats teen at most.
We'll see if its just a ploy to use their underutilized motion controls or not. Would be real cool if its an actual fun game (though, cant this just be a punch out game? or better yet, a labo kit).
@Joker13z "Overcooked 2 launches on Nintendo Switch on 7th August for £19.99 / €24.99 / $29.99 with a boxed retail version also on the way. Pre-orders are available right now."
Yet another part of the article that confused me. If it was coming same day, best to put more definite wording.
Lol, I dont mind the notifications haha. Normally I would look this up myself, but am a little busy with other things. Nice to have someone look it up and report back for me
@MoonKnight7 @Joker13z Alright, so its just the regular preorder annoyance then. Thanks for the clarification.
Like you two have said, the confusion about this game is a bit off. They announced it last month but still there's not a clear set price nor set physical release date. Ah well, at least the game itself is going to spicier than Indian curry (had to throw a food metaphor somewhere).
Ugh. I hate these preorder bonus like stuff already, but for some reason, it being a digital only preorder chafes me even more. Probably because the physical version is coming and might not included preordered characters. Even if they do, I would still dislike how that means digital, non-preorder buyers have an inferior version.
Honestly amazed that games like this and Carnival Games are being brought back. Should we have left them in the dust? Maybe, but at least De Blob has been resurrected.
@Ogbert I mean... I wouldn't. Not because I wouldnt want promotion, but more like I bet less than 10% of the Switch's audience even knows what MyNintendo is lol
@Heavyarms55 We'll see. I have been called a hopeless optimist before, but its just how I think. You can also quote a game like Overwatch, a pc and console sensation, as a potential kindle to the fire. In reality, the opposite proved to be true, a lot of games decided cosmetics instead of pay 2 win was superior. I have seen valid criticism to even that model, imo, its harmless.
Plus, free to play is not a death sentence of gameplay no more. Best example is Warframe. Like I've said before, I dont think a Shadow of War (a pretty fun game considering...) situation will happen for a long while. Hell, they even removed lootboxes in that case. Again, we will have to wait and see. Developments are happeneing every other month.

Re: The Top 10 Best-Selling Nintendo 3DS Games (As Of June 2018)
Re: The Top 10 Best-Selling Nintendo 3DS Games (As Of June 2018)
@Silly_G I know that sounds like a valid buisness strategy, but imagining a pokemon game with four different possible copies gives me nightmares for the parents. Hell, my sister would probably buy into it. For now, I'm thankful the less sophisticated Lets Go is console exclusive.
Though, imagine if it was a theoretical third version, what pokemon could it even be? Jigglypuff? Clefairy? Its like being the youngest child and getting the worst of wear handmedowns haha.
Re: The Top 10 Best-Selling Nintendo 3DS Games (As Of June 2018)
It's not gonna change anytime soon, unless a mysterious pokemon game appears from thin air. Good list too. As I am one of the few Tomodachi Life appreciaters, the game is a nice cap.
Re: Video: What Would Ice Climber Look Like If It Was Recreated In Unreal Engine 4?
@EightBitMan You are right in some degree, Nintendo does need new series. However, why can't they coexist? Expand the markets. Doubt it will ever happen, especially since Nintendo themselves believes they make only kiddy games the hardest, but would be sweet. I do like the new crossover betweens the Warriors franchise, but thats teen at most.

Ice climbers needs a remake in general, I dont care which engine.
Re: Nintendo Reveals Fitness Boxing Exclusively For Switch
@DannyBoi Thanks for the compliment! (and sorry for not noticing until the next day)
Re: Nintendo Reveals Fitness Boxing Exclusively For Switch
We'll see if its just a ploy to use their underutilized motion controls or not. Would be real cool if its an actual fun game (though, cant this just be a punch out game? or better yet, a labo kit).
Re: Pokémon RPG Release Date Has Changed From "Second Half" Of 2019 To "Late 2019"
Its funny how pokemon games have been released often around my birthday... but its my least favorite Nintendo series by far
Re: Pre-Order Overcooked 2 Now And Receive Exclusive Characters At Launch
@Joker13z "Overcooked 2 launches on Nintendo Switch on 7th August for £19.99 / €24.99 / $29.99 with a boxed retail version also on the way. Pre-orders are available right now."
Yet another part of the article that confused me. If it was coming same day, best to put more definite wording.
Lol, I dont mind the notifications haha. Normally I would look this up myself, but am a little busy with other things. Nice to have someone look it up and report back for me
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th July (North America)
@Dazza The prize is a more accurate article. That's all I need (that and some good comment conversation )
Re: Pre-Order Overcooked 2 Now And Receive Exclusive Characters At Launch
@MoonKnight7 @Joker13z Alright, so its just the regular preorder annoyance then. Thanks for the clarification.
Like you two have said, the confusion about this game is a bit off. They announced it last month but still there's not a clear set price nor set physical release date. Ah well, at least the game itself is going to spicier than Indian curry (had to throw a food metaphor somewhere).
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th July (North America)
Wait, I'm confused. Why is Code of Princess EX under eshop unlike the other retail releases? Doesn't it have a physical release?
Re: Pre-Order Overcooked 2 Now And Receive Exclusive Characters At Launch
Ugh. I hate these preorder bonus like stuff already, but for some reason, it being a digital only preorder chafes me even more. Probably because the physical version is coming and might not included preordered characters. Even if they do, I would still dislike how that means digital, non-preorder buyers have an inferior version.
Such muddy waters for something so useless.
Re: Review: Go Vacation (Switch)
Go Vacation, for real preferably.
Honestly amazed that games like this and Carnival Games are being brought back. Should we have left them in the dust? Maybe, but at least De Blob has been resurrected.
Re: Owlboy Publisher Soedesco Teases Two New Switch Releases To Be Revealed At Gamescom
Owl Girl and Owl Non-binary.
Re: Grab Some Free Games With The Nindie Game Gold Point Rewards: Summer 2018 Edition
@Ogbert I mean... I wouldn't. Not because I wouldnt want promotion, but more like I bet less than 10% of the Switch's audience even knows what MyNintendo is lol
Re: Epic Games Could Soon Be Worth A Staggering $8 Billion Thanks To Fortnite's Success
