Re: Review: BloodRayne ReVamped - A Joyless, Frustrating Port That Shows How Far We've Come

hemonecrophagia

@Bunkerneath Actually limited run has a good track record of fixing the games before they are shipped., I had the same worry with Star Wars Republic Commando, but the glitches an crash issues are non existent in the switch physical release, there are no updates either for the game, its just put the game in an play, no downloads, no issues. So i am sure limited run will make sure the titles work before they ship.

It's almost as if the digital releases are a test bed before the physical release, as all orders are made before they are manufactured to be shipped.

Thus a proper port would depend on how many issues are found maybe?

Re: Review: BloodRayne ReVamped - A Joyless, Frustrating Port That Shows How Far We've Come

hemonecrophagia

I bought this game physical, sad to hear about the crashing. As someone who has been playing on gamecube for years I bought this for the switch to have a go on a newer system as I really enjoy the gamecube port, turning on juggy mode with dismemberment has always made this game a great way to pass time. I already know what im getting into with this, this person who reviewed this doesn't seem to be a veteran bloodrayne player, thus is overly frustrated trying to speed run this game for a quick review to move onto the next title.

For those who have never played this Ps2/Gamecube era title, it's a bad game, in the original psx resident evil sense bad game. its bad, not a ***** game game, its fun to play once you figure out how the game works. and the cheat codes , don't judge it too harshly, these same critics today don't think highly of older games either.
If anyone finds a copy, don't take the game seriously, just screw around an dismember some Nazi's , their painful screams as they bleed out an run for the door is the most joyful experience I have ever had in a video game.

-Just to add on I went back an reviewed the article one more time, I am entirely convinced this reviewer does not understand how this game is played, especially seeing as how this person could not figure out the tight rope mechanic. Look best answer I can give, play this on an emulator before buying it. borrow it from a friend. whatever, play it before buying it on a platform that wont refund your money. this is a fairly straight forward blood orgy hack an slash game, nothing more, it doesnt require patience or time, you just kill because you feel like it. just run up an beat the living hell outta the enemy(this reviewer could not even figure out the combat mechanics either apparently an it's simple as heck, I figured it out when I was 9, I been playing this game since I was 9 years old), it's not a game for everyone. I'f you like boobs, vampires, an killing nazi's, an you enjoy games like GTA 3 or Minecraft, try the game. before you buy..

Those who ordered this physical know what we want...

@Gelantious thx for the link share that is a good version to try.

Re: The Project AM2R Creator Now Designs Levels For The Ori Developer Moon Studios

@FullMetalWesker

"@hemonecrophagia - I thought I explained it pretty well, but I'll elaborate: You tried to make a counterpoint, but it relied on some contradictory facts, as listed below; all I'm asking for is clarification as to which one is true, as they can't both be.
You started by claiming Nintendo can't shut down fan projects, citing OoT Unreal amongst others as an example, then you finish by saying that Nintendo can, but they choose not to, citing examples where Nintendo (and others) shut down only projects that were a threat to their own projects (like Capcom and Resi Evil 2).
In short, Either Nintendo can't shut down these fan projects, or they can and they just choose not to. Which is it?"

Ah that's exactly what I was thinking you didnt understand but I wanted to be sure.

heres the bit from my earlier post;
"@FullMetalWesker Actually under several creative copyright freedom acts, you can if you follow proper procedure, obvious things that let thousands of other people make Nintendo games in the past using flash, unreal, along with many other engines, which are still being done present other wise Ocarina of Time in Unreal wouldn't be a current thing.. I can make a Metroid Prime remaster myself, and Nintendo cannot touch me about it unless I make it accessible to the public."

"unless I make it accessible to the public."

The projects that were shut down were made accessible to the public rather than being displayed like "Rod Limas" popular re2 remaster. Therefore are in violation currently and Nintendo could send a Cease and Desist court order to many projects like OOT unreal, but yet do not when they have done it in the past and present.

Which is why I added my assumption regarding the possibility they only remove what is relevant to their current plans, if Zelda OOT unreal is allowed to exist it's possible there are no current plans for a Nintendo Remaster or Remake of the popular title.

This Metroid game last I checked was made available at one point or another to the public along with a donation pool, I would say the donation pool would have been grounds for removal, however it was donation towards any project in general so I cant call that. strangely after this was pulled however, Nintendo just so happened to have a metroid 2 themed game on 3ds appear.

@FullMetalWesker Actually under several creative copyright freedom acts, you can if you follow proper procedure, obvious things that let thousands of other people make Nintendo games in the past using flash, unreal, along with many other engines, which are still being done present other wise Ocarina of Time in Unreal wouldn't be a current thing.. I can make a Metroid Prime remaster myself, and Nintendo cannot touch me about it unless I make it accessible to the public. It's pretty much the equivalent of hanging a portrait of Spongebob on your fridge after copying the artwork in your own hand except you added a bonnet and a beard and put your name on it. then uploaded a picture of it and said its yours.
Except this dev didnt claim the property was his creation, I assume the issue is Nintendo was and is still making metroid games and didnt want this guy stealing their thunder. As there were Metroid 2 based games in the works at the time. This happens all the time, thousands of Pokemon plagiarized games, and Nintendo so happens to remove the one that looks closest to what they are trying to achieve at that moment and time.
The fact that many impressive Fan made titles are allowed to exist currently has been a constant hint at whats in the works. As before the "Ocarina of time in Unreal" was a thing, there were projects of ocarina being torn down near the release of the 3ds remaster. Another project was centered around Smash Bros. Brawl, this one a Mod name "Project M" which makes Brawl play like Melee, and allowed many to create their own custom characters, bringing any character you want into smash, when someone uploaded gameplay of a Little Mac character in the works on Youtube, Nintendo sent a Cease and Desist order to the devs, almost a year later, Little Mac so happen to appear in a Smash bros. title.
An example of this behavior from another company most notably would be Capcom with the RE2 remake, when they sent Cease and Disist orders to several groups making Re2 related fan games(most notable Re2 Reborn), whom were made apart of the Re2 remake Dev crew temporarily. which made no sense to stop them, because Capcom doesn't lose a penny to a free to play title if they create a "superior product", as many super villains would say in a comic, "I cannot let someone as powerful as me live, you must be destroyed'.

Sounds ridiculous? bring it up at a live conference next time and see how quickly they push you aside.

So forgive me for looking down on Nintendo as this seems more like weakness in their part. If you gonna do one, you might as well finish the job and get on the rest, as I doubt every other creator can afford lawyers either.

Re: Schedule A Trip To The Outer Worlds On Switch This March

hemonecrophagia

I put off a PC purchase to wait for a physical cartridge, I am not buying this digital on my Nintendo switch, kinda disappointed about this but oh well, they still get my money, just not for their hard work on the Nintendo.

Also putting an empty box on a shelf with a code inside is a gross waste of funds, not damaging, but wasteful.

I'd rather just download and install onto an SD card on the PC, then put it in a box.

Re: BioShock: The Collection Could Be Coming To Switch According To New Rating

hemonecrophagia

I would only buy physical on the Nintendo, otherwise I'll stick with it on Xbox 360 and PS3, this will more than likely be digital only, the games arent properly compressed when ported, the company is too cheap to pay for a proper switch physical port.

So unless they compress the game files like they are supposed too this time like they did on PS3 and Xbox 360, you get the picture..

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2020

hemonecrophagia

@Zeldafan79
"For one thing chinatown wars being on a handheld at the time seemed like going backwards when you could just play one of the many home system games on PS2 or xbox. Secondly if it were a main series title you'd think putting it on a portable is the last thing they'd do. It wasn't like today where you can get any home system game on a portable and have it not be a butchered watered down half assed version for poor people who can't afford a console.

If Rockstar wants to show they support the switch it's gonna take more than LA noire. I honestly don't see why GTA V can't come over to switch. Heck the Wii even got Bully! I just don't see it happening. I bet the sales risk is the biggest roadblock."

Just want to point a few things out here;
PSP was released in NA in 2005,
NDS was released in NA in 2004,
The first GTA handheld game "Liberty city Stories" released in 2005 for the PSP,
The second was "Vice City Stories" released in 2006 for the PSP,
both were ported to the PS2 a year after their launches, they launched exactly the same on handheld first, to be sold on console.
the third PSP GTA title "Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars" was released in 2009, and shared its origional release with the DS, over the next two years it was ported too both Iphones and IOS/android devices as a mobile game.

So it wasnt a step backwards it, was a sequel to the original classic GTA style for those of us who enjoyed it on PS1, as there were already two PS2 style handheld GTA's out there that are still playable on PSN to this day(don't know about ps4, but i can download it on ps3).

Chinatown Wars is a real classic GTA experience, which makes it more of a main title than the PS2 counterparts(technically all spinoffs since they weren't number'd and were locations based off the origional GTA on ps1), as top down style came first.
to be honest, when the Chinatown wars Spinoff was released, I could only think back to the release of GTA London back on the PSX which was released after 2. Which is why I wasnt surprised when Vice city and San Andreas spawned from GTA 3.

As far as GTA 5 is concerned, the switch doesn't possess the communication features these companies want, meaning Rockstar needs to have their own method on the switch for players to communicate, or they wont be able to sell online the way they want.
Which brings the next tidbit, Rockstar has to figure out how to get Nintendo to go along with a GTA online experience on their system, let's be real here, Rockstar does not sell GTA 5 without online.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2020

hemonecrophagia

@Zeldafan79 Well what counts as a "main" GTA title and where does it officially state this classification that "GTA China Town wars" wasn't a official GTA game after holding true to the classic ps1 GTA? As far as GCN, Nintendo was a bit iffy on Rockstar Titles at the time, it was a pain just to convince Nintendo to allow True Crime and BloodRayne on their Console then..
Currently the only Rockstar game on switch is L.A Noir

@NotTelevision Really depends on who made what, and how profitable it still is. The fact that both Crash Bandicoot and Spyro are on a nintendo platform is some proof of that, Sony's brand are all over those games still.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Ports We'd Love To See In 2020

hemonecrophagia

Please keep in mind, some of us do not want to buy an older system just to play these games, some of us would rather have it on a new console, especially if we never played the game before. even if it's a digital only. Regardless of Whether You like the game or not.
that said..
My wish list in Particular:
Non Nintendo Ports-
1.Dragon age or Mass effect, would be two off the top of my head. 2.Fallout NV would make a decent port to switch.
3.I love Saints Row 3 enough on Switch to buy 4 if it were ported.
4.Dark Souls 2(Even though i already know "From Software" is working on it from their old interview on the remaster port's success)
5.Final Fantasy XIII, would love to have it on switch
6.Borderlands 2 or Bioshock.
7. Silent hill has never been on Nintendo before, would love Konami to do a port of "SH 4 The Room" from PS2 or Downpour as it was more recent.
8. Resident evil Code Veronica X on A Cart would blow my mind if Capcom made a hd port.
9. DBZ Budokai 3, brilliant fighting game for it's time, saw lots of love on PS3, deserves a place on Nintendo, since it only got Budokai 1&2 back in the day.
10.Resident Evil Classics(RE1 DS, RE2, RE3 Nemesis, and Survivor)all on one Cart would be amazing,a perfect holiday buy, and would sell like hotcakes on switch. They sold very well on the GC, very hard to find someone willing to part with them for a decent price on that console..
11. Destiny The Taken King, Bungie Ports wherever the money is, Switch is a fresh Money Pit, Assuming Bungie is willing to make their own communication feature for switch as Nintendo doesnt even allow invites natively .

Nintendo Exclusive Ports-
1.Zelda Windwaker since it was on WIIU
2. Zelda remasters from 3DS
3. DBZ Legacy of Goku 1&2 along with Buu's Fury(There wasnt one GBA owner i knew that hadn't owned or played this game at a friends at least once in their lives it deserves a collection port)
4.Pikmin, Switch feels incomplete without it, Pikmin has always been my Favorite GC game.
5. The Last Story or Pandora's Tower(Amazing games)
6. Eternal Darkness Sanity's Requiem
7. Zelda Skyward Sword Would play very nicely with the Motion Controls of Switch's Joycons, seems like a must at this point.
8. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse was freaky on Wii, and pushed the system to it's limit's, would probably play very well on Switch
9. Fragile Dreams from Wii, Definitely a different game, very touching story.
10. Star Fox Assault
11. Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2 & 3 from GCN would be a very surprising port

Re: Bethesda's Hellish Add-On Update For DOOM And DOOM II Is Now Available

hemonecrophagia

Soooo where are we supposed to get info on the community picks? Personally Project Brutality(the extremely violent bloody mod that inspired Doom 2016) would be my pick, with the brutal melee's, iron sights, enhanced blood and gore, giving the enemy the bird. It's always been the "go to" mod for me, and shouldnt have any trouble running on switch....

Re: Doom 3 Patch Adds Slayers Club Support, Sign In Now To Receive A Free Marine Skin For Doom Eternal

hemonecrophagia

@retro_player_22 You're right Pokemon shouldn't be exclusive to nintendo, Halo Gears and Fable shouldn't solely remain a microsoft IP,. Infamous Sly cooper, Ratchet and clank, God of War, Killzone, bloodborne, Medievil all should be forced to run on everything else they weren't made for.

Doom original was born on PC, it's continuous love and support comes majoritively from PC gamers, in fact almost all game mechanics implemented into Doom 2016, were based on a mod named Project Brutality, which can be found on MODDB.

Classic Doom is better off on the PC. Bethesda and ID refuse to give proper ports.

Doom 3 on the other hand appears to run nicely on switch. thumbs up there....

Re: Review: Resident Evil 6 - Not As Nightmarish As You Remember

hemonecrophagia

Reading your review here, couldn't help but notice you forgot to mention all quick time cinematic events can be disabled in the options menu after completing the opening prologue.
As for Ada's campaign, it is indeed included in co-op, in Ada's campaign the 2nd player plays as a nameless soldier in an outfit that's reminiscent of Hunk's squad from the original RE2.

Re: Nintendo Will "Continue To Enhance" Switch Online Content, To Encourage More Users To Try The Service

hemonecrophagia

simple chat, text chat, still cannot text outside the app, let us talk to everyone on our friends list's, a large majority cannot access the Nintendo app, a large majority does not want to use the Nintendo app, the Nintendo app isn't exactly compatible fully either, just add the simple text chat that has been around since PC terminal's were a thing in the 1980's. this is getting ridiculous to pay for a service and not have something so simple.

Re: The Elder Scrolls: Blades For Switch Requires An Online Connection

hemonecrophagia

@westman98 well, that's their fault for not researching it, reading about the games launch and history up until now, I can see why those who purchased it are upset, however I cant understand why in their heads the answer for them is to continue playing.

If I were in their shoes, I would stop playing this game, and give a year in between each Future Bethesda Studios release before Purchasing them, it appears everyone who bought 76 day one, didnt even know what the game was.

Bethesda sold a shady game, and the suckers bought it, the solution.... stop being a sucker, don't ever buy Bethesda Studio games Day 01, looking at the past games over the last 15 years, they've been going down hill since they split from Obsidian.

Research your game before you buy it, be a smart consumer.

Shop smart, S-MART...

Re: The Elder Scrolls: Blades For Switch Requires An Online Connection

hemonecrophagia

@westman98 But I thought this game was broken from the beginning, why would anyone play this game or even continue too, if it has such horrible features?

but even more so, why should they give anyone the subscription for free?

if it's that bad, shouldnt everyone just stop playing it and move onto another one of the hundreds of MMO's around the internet today?

Re: The Elder Scrolls: Blades For Switch Requires An Online Connection

hemonecrophagia

@westman98
"At this point, at least there isnt a $100 subscription."

I don't play 76, but I gotta ask, what's wrong with paying the subscription price? 12.99 a month correct?

$12.99 multiplied by 12 months(without tax) comes out to $155.88 for a year with a monthly subscription,

So call me crazy but it appears Bethesda shaved off $55.88 for a yearly subscription.

So whats the problem?

Re: The Outer Worlds Won't Be Released On Switch Until Next Year

hemonecrophagia

@Finlderp

"Ditch Epic, patch out some bugs and improve the performance. That'll sell me on the Switch version. The game froze and eventually crashed for me in the opening cutscene. It was so bad that I couldn't even get it to close with task manager. I just had to wait for it to close itself. Then once I restarted it and got through that it proceeded to freeze and stutter roughly every 30 seconds. But to be fair once I iocked the frame rate to 60fps it started running just fine. It has a really great story and rewarding progression. I'm loving it so far even though I'm only a few hours in. I'm running a stealthy, charismatic engineer right now (lol). I only got the game because j forgot to cancel my Xbox gamepass subscription too (for pc) 😂"

That's odd, did you try ending the process instead of the application?

Re: The Outer Worlds Won't Be Released On Switch Until Next Year

hemonecrophagia

5 months huh? From when may ask? Considering Dark souls was already a game that was published years back with an outdated engine and software, the outer worlds devs would've had this in testing for the last year to look for bugs and anything out of the ordinary. So shouldn't they have been able to work on a Nintendo port during that time. So say if the game was ready in July, and was just awaiting release, then by all technicality's it should be done by January 2020, unless the company felt Nintendo doesn't take priority in game releases in the first place therefore being outranked by the competition.
