Re: Review: Super Mario Run (Mobile)

Shame about the online requirement. I'm flying nearly 4 hours this Sunday, would be nice to be able to spend some time on SMR... Oh well, guess I'll have to work instead 😅

Re: Review: Axiom Verge (Wii U eShop)

helbertpina

I almost bought it on the Vita (PS4 cross-buy), but my backlog prevented me from doing it. I might go for the Wii U instead, it seems to make great use of the Gamepad screen, and I want to support the console (despite all its woes, I actually love having excuses to turn it on on a regular basis). Just wish they made a 3DS / N3DS version, it would be the perfect platform... "Fingers crossed", I guess...?

Re: Review: Final Fight (3DS eShop / SNES)

helbertpina

I cannot understand the lack of new/recent "turn-off-your-brain-beat-em-ups", like Final Fight or Streets of Rage, these days... These games are perfect for "pick up and play", IMHO, offering a lot more "actual gameplay" than today's casual games... Shame, really.

If you have any "modern game" recommendation, please, let me know! I already own SoR, and replay it on a regular basis, wish there were other options (even better if they offer local co-op, I love playing with my 5yo son!).

Re: Talking Point: 3DS Homebrew Development Causes Another Game Takedown as Nintendo Maintains Its Tight Grip

I know modding/hacking opens a world of possibilities, but I'm not sure I support hacking "current" consoles, those that are still being sold by Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft.

I fully support emulation/modding/hacking consoles from past generations, though. The way I see it, if there is no more formal support, then people should be free to do whatever they please with their machines.

Re: Nintendo NY Store to Give 500 Fans a Chance to Play The Legend of Zelda on Wii U During E3 Week

helbertpina

Aaaargh, why not just release the demo online, so EVERYONE who owns a console can have a go as well? I just can't understand why these E3 demos can't be released online... Come on, Nintendo...

PS. To be fair, though, it's not just Nintendo. Pretty much every major developer/publisher usually fails to release their E3 floor demos online, be it a Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft console game...

Re: Review: Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge (Wii U eShop)

helbertpina

It's fun, but it's not the "amiibo killer app". Nintendo should work on something like Skylanders... Can you imagine a platformer built on the 3D World engine, a giant Nintendo crossover adventure, featuring all amiibos as playable characters... Oh, man...

It could even be a new series of its own! "Super Smash Bros.: Adventure"! Come on Nintendo, make it happen!

Re: Reaction: The NX Release in March 2017 and How It Changes the Game

helbertpina

"Killing" the Wii U after only 4 years is the big issue here. It's a shame the console is underpowered when compared to the competition, but that didn't stop them from making/releasing games like 3D World, MK8, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2... These games are AMAZING, regardless of their resolution, tech specs, bla bla bla. I'm really disappointed, and I really think the Wii U will be left behind way too early. Unless the NX is backwards compatible, I won't be getting one any time soon.

Re: Rumour: More Sources Highlight NX Controller 'Gimmick' and a Major Game Project

helbertpina

The whole thing is so frustrating... Most (if not all) the exclusives on the Wii U are already awesome: great graphics (especially if you don't mind the whole resolution thing) AND they play REALLY well, boasting performance you hardly see on PS4 and XBox One titles.

I don't want to buy an NX so soon. I am absolutely fine (and actually just want to keep) playing Nintendo exclusives on my Nintendo console, which is totally fine as it is. If Nintendo releases the NX so soon, hoping to regain third party support, it will definitely blow. Shame, really...

Re: Enhanced Digital Store With Over 2,000 Games Launching Alongside My Nintendo This Week

helbertpina

One more step toward the digital world. Now we need (among other things):

1 - ALL WiiU/NX/3DS games being offered digitally (and available to browse anywhere, on ANY device.
2 - Better sales. Nintendo eShop sales are always lukewarm. The BigN needs to be more aggressive now and then, just look at PSN and Steam!
3 - Nintendo HAS to leave the "games linked to hardware" thing behind. It's archaic, cumbersome, simply put, a pain in the a*.
4 - Better implementation of cross-buy. Having to buy the same Virtual Console game for both Wii U AND 3DS/N3DS is disrespectful.
