Discounts, we all love them, and it seems that Capcom has unveiled some as part of an eShop Spring Sale to tempt North American Wii U and 3DS owners to part with some cash in the coming week.
The following price cuts are live and are only running until 6th June, so if you're in the Americas you should certainly look into snapping them up.
Wii U
- Resident Evil Revelations - $9.99 (normally $39.99)
- Dungeons and Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara - $5.99 (normally $14.99)
- DuckTales: Remastered - $5.10 (normally $14.99)
- Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - $13.59 (normally $39.99)
3DS
- Mega Man Legacy Collection - $9.99 (normally $14.99)
- Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition - $4.99 (normally $19.99)
- Resident Evil Revelations - $4.99 (normally $19.99)
- Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - $13.99 (normally $19.99)
- Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D - $4.99 (normally $19.99)
Some decent offers there, especially with Mega Man Legacy Collection being a relatively recent release. Are you tempted to grab any of these discounts?
Thanks to all that sent this in.

If you get something on sale, how many My Nintendo coins do you get? The original price, or what you actually paid?
@cbkummer I bought the Ace Attorney Trilogy on sale a couple weeks ago, but I got gold coins based on the full price
Revelations for 5 bucks? If anyone is itching for a new 3DS game and hasn't played that, I highly recommend picking if up. It's far from perfect, but it's an impressive shooter for the handheld and probably the best entry in the series since 4 or 5.
I'm thinking of getting Legacy Collection....anybody know how good the performance is?
On second thought.....I'll pass and get it on Steam instead. Doesn't make much of difference.
@Fenrir6 Nice! I might pick up Revelations, then. I've had my eye on that for years
Capcom Sale Yeah!!!
...I own all of these already.
I'll get the Legacy Collection, and maybe the Wii U version of Revelations.
I might get Monster Hunter on Wii U finally. Always kinda sucked at the demo but I could force myself to get better
Dang, those are some great sales!
Does anyone think getting mh3u on wii u for that price is a good deal even though I already have mh4u on 3ds?
@cbkummer I bought Azure Striker Gunvolt on the last day it had 1/3 off... Which just happened to be the day My Nintendo launched and I got 20 gold coins instead of 10.
Oh, @Fenrir6 already answered your question...
I pretty much have all of these except for Mega Man Collection and MH3U.
@adrianbiga MH4U is superior in every way. Although playing on the big screen with more comfortable controls is more enjoyable, 3U is a big step backwards. The underwater battles can be difficult to navigate for example. If you are itching for another Monster Hunter experience, Generations is just around the corner.
Capcom's sales are awesome, if only Nintendo did something like this...
@Jimmy_G_Buckets The only problem I have with MH4U is Nintendo 3DS low resolution screen. The game is awesome and one of my 3DS favourites, but it would look much better on better screens.
Some nice discounts but... a Spring sale in June? Shouldn't it be a Summer sale?
@HeroponRiki Riki no know that Summer is until June 21st?
It's a shame that this doesn't extend to VC titles. I still want to pick up Battle Network 2 and was hoping that would be on sale, lol.
I might pick up Ducktales Remastered for that price. I've never played the original, is it good?
Really wish RE4 had went on sale. I just finished Revelations and wanted to try it out. I suppose 20 bucks isn't that bad though.
@HeroponRiki Summer starts on 21st June.
@Trinexx I got it some time ago, for $5.10 don't think twice. It's a nice game.
Why is MH3U 50 cents more on the 3ds? It doesn't even have online play like it's WiiU version.
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Haha Heropon Riki confused Riki sad.
I already own all these games... Sob...
Everyone buy Mega Man if you haven't already, just be aware that MM5 us horribly emulated so you gotta switch to Rockman 5.
I might get Mega Man Legacy Collection, the XBox One version I own has a terrible input lag that prevents me from advancing further like old times.
Same games that always discount. When is DuckTales not on sale now? lol
@adrianbiga I played MH3U first and enjoyed a lot. MH4U didn't click yet, I have it but I never went too far. I guess it's worth it for that price.
Hmm, I would love to have MH3U digitally on Wii U perhaps.
Also I think it is probably about time I give Mega Man a try.
Nice one. Will probably go for MegaMan on the 3DS and D&D on the Wii U. The more fun couch co-op to play with the wife and kids on the big screen the merrier, and D&D is really good.
Well, I was originally going to buy Mega Man 5&6 and have the complete set on VC, but opted to pay $5 extra for the Legacy Collection, since it offered a gallery. Not regretting it one bit, and I encourage anyone reading this to pick it up if you haven't already.
Revelations and Street Fighter for me!
Anyone knows on which is the better RE Revelations version, 3DS or Wii U?
@Decapre Good, I wasn't just seeing things. I noticed that MM5 just chugged, unlike the other games.
@nab1 Well, that depends. 3DS for me since it's portable, but if you like a higher resolution, Wii U is the way to go.
I let my son read a Megaman comic they have at the library and he's been telling me he wants to play the games. That being said I think I want the cartridge because i have a feeling he'll lose interest pretty quick due to how challenging they are. With a cartridge it wont be trapped on his 2DS and thus available to put in my 3ds when i get the urge. I'd like to know more about any emulation issues as well.
I'm going to get D&D. I missed the last sale and have been wanting it for a while. The fact that they include a scanline filter makes me very happy.
@roy130390 Thanks. My debate is, higher resolution OR 3D. I like both in their own way
@Jimmy_G_Buckets I'll just wait for generations then.
On another note, would anyone recommens the megan man legacy. Ive heard that it has certain performance issues. Does it have any on the 3ds version?
@nab1 No problem mate, here is a comparison of the resolution:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4BXd-v095Y
Still, this game has already great graphics on the original version and the 3D effect is probably one of the best on the 3DS library.
You should also consider wich controls do you enjoy more. Many say the game is too hard to play on 3ds without a second analog stick, but I didn't have much trouble with the demo. Also, I'm really comfortable while playing since I'm able to be lying in my bed, wich is great after a hard day at college.
I wuz just lookin' out for Resident Evil: THE MERCENARIES 3D, so this is perfect timing! Even though it doesn't support the CPP...oh well!
@nab1 I dont have any experience with the Wii U version but I will say in my opinion the game was developed for the 3ds. It pushed the 3ds to its limits and was apparently designed around the systems strengths and limitations. With games like that I usually prefer to play the original version. I bought the 3ds version and feel like its the definitive version.
That's my philosophy on these things but sometimes the reality can be complicated. If you need circlepad pro controls to enjoy the game I will say I dont think the c-stick on the N3ds is a good enough alternative for precision aiming. You also shoot with the inner zr buttons in cpp mode. The perfect version of the game would be the stable 3d of a new 3ds the second slide pad and correct triggers. For people who don't like 3d it has antialiasing in 2d mode which makes it a bit smoother and actually looks pretty nice.
Since I'm not a fan of horror, there's not really anything for me here that I don't already have. I appreciate that Capcom does these sales, but I wish they'd throw in some VC titles.
aargh I just bought mega man for 15 bucks yesterday 😁
Eh...I already have all six of the Mega Man games for the 3DS Virtual Console and I don't consider myself a big enough fan of the franchise to double dip. I already have Ducktales: Remastered on PS3, which I hardly play. I'm not really into Resident Evil (haven't been since RE4 on the Wii). Lastly, I tried the Monster Hunter games, but I just couldn't get into them. Maybe I'll download the demo again and give it another spin, I don't know. I already have a copy of Street Fighter 4 from another Capcom sale (also for $5). All the same, at first glance, there's not a lot here for me.
As always, nothing in Australia.
I love Capcom's games for the 3DS. I only wish they gave a bit more support, like Resident Evil Deadly Silence remastered or something.
I don't even really care for Mega Man, but if this deal was to hit Europe, I'd be tempted... that's the only one of their games I don't already have, I think!
@Socar I picked it up around launch and it is a great conversion of all 6 NES games.
@eSocrates thank you all for your kind replies. I think I'll go with the wii u version. I had problems getting used to star fox 3D's controls, and from what you guys say it seems I will adapt better with a controller. Thanks again!
@wiggleronacid It was the best modern RE for me. 4 had quick time events. 5 went too far from the core of the series. 6 brought back even more quick times events.
Is monster hunter 3 ultimate good? Might just pick that up....
@Ashthearcher It's a good game, though pretty tough to get into if you're a newcomer like I was. If you're willing to give the time to understand the mechanics, you should have a great time. If you want a title that's more welcoming to newcomers, get MH4U.
@TreesenHauser
Monster Hunter is a game that takes a little practice. But once you hunt a few monsters you will get the hang of it and be loving it in no time.
When I first bought that game I played it for an hour and then never touched it again. The intro is just gathering herbs and stuff for the first few quests. It wasn't until my coworker bought a Wii U and wouldn't shut up about this game that I was convinced to give it another try and play online with them.
All it took was that first real hunt with my friend, and I was hooked. Every night we would play together and every night when we joined up he would have a slick new armor said he farmed from another monster. Of course I was super jealous and had to get me one too so it was a constant game of 'keeping up with the Jones'
Truly though, don't give up after a few initial dull gathering quests. Stick with it until you get to your first real monster hunt, and then the fun begins. Then practice practice practice and enjoy the ride.
For all you horror fan, get Resident Evil Revelations for 3DS or Wii U. That way Capcom would know that we still want a survival horror RE over a Call of Duty RE.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a great game but 13.59 with no resale value is not much of a deal given normal price is now 19.99. (Could be as low as $7 sometimes at Walmart pre-owned) 5.99 for the good old D&D is pretty much the standard in every sale. I like RER but it's simply not child-friendly...can't buy it at the moment.
Arrggh, I literally just bought Mega Man Legacy Collection yesterday.
5 bucks for Street Fighter? Well well well well worth it. I might also get Resident Evil 3DS.. But I'm pretty happy about SF. It's a steal, really.
@adrianbiga I was in the same position as you in the last Spring Sale when they cut MH3U's price. I bought it, and I don't regret my purchase, but I also rarely play it. Try doing a 4U hunt with none of your favorite combo finishers, no jumping, no wall climbing, and no mounting. That's 3U for you. It was clearly phenomenal before the verticality of 4U, but once you mount for the first time, you never go back. Hunts are just generally a lot more boring, and only being in one town the entire game doesn't make the hub world any more fun. The free hunting in Moga Woods is probably the most unique factor, in addition to the swimming. Now let me make this clear: 3U gets swimming controls SO UNBELIEVABLY PERFECT! Hunting in the water doesn't control any different than hunting on land, which is nice, but the overall concept is poor. You are a human. You are a land hunter. You are hunting the Gobul. The Gobul is a water monster. Which has the advantage in a water battle? This problem really hurts underwater hunts: you take already boring gameplay (compared to 4U) and throw in even slower water combat against naturally advantaged opponents, and the resulting tedium is why I feed to my 400 hour playtime of 4U rather than my 60 hour playtime of 3U when my inner Monster Hunter gets hungry. Get hyped for Generations. Leave 3U in the last generation. It's a really good game, by pre-2015 standards, but 4U is just so many miles better, it's hardly a competition.
The Mega Man Legacy price is a steal, especially when compared to the price of buying those 6 titles are standalone VC releases.
Now if only that Mega Man collection was on Wii U... I'd quadra-dip on that...
Well would you look at that. Another sale where Europe is completely ignored. I never heard of such a thing. /sarcasm
Always love seeing Chronicles of Mystara on sale, it means I can work on getting more people to buy it.
I was expecting virtual console games also
As soon as the game is discounted in Europe, I'm totally getting the Legacy Collection.
If it the same in Europe then I would be disappointed as I just bought the Legacy collection last week. Ah well you win some you lose some.
I have all those games except for MM collection which I won't waste money on. Great deals for those that don't have them though.
Time to pick up Street Fighter IV 3D
Still hoping against hope for a VC NES Duck Tales release... on 3DS... Keep hoping, I guess.
what the crap! I paid $50 for Mega man legacy collection.
About to pull the trigger on the Mega Man Legacy Collection. I want PSN trophies for these games, but portability wins out (if only it was on Vita). I'd like confirmation on the controls, though. Am I stuck with the Virtual Console style B for Shoot and A for jump, or can I configure it to use the more comfortable Y to shoot and B to jump configuration?
I wanted to get super street fighter but it takes up so much memory on my 3ds
I think I'll download ResiEvil: The Mercenaries 3D.
