Re: Soapbox: It's Time For WWE No Mercy To Make A Comeback On Nintendo Switch

Huge wrestling fan here.

I would be happy with a starter compromise of a Wrestlefest/WWF Superstars style game with a large roster of current and legend wrestler (to h*ll with "Superstars" that's a f'n Vince term, they're wrestlers darn it).

The modding community is HUGE for the AKI engine games (like No Mercy). If they can accomplish the stuff they have, then a multi million dollar company could easily give us an upgraded No Mercy engine game with a Fire Pro level character customization system.

That would be the end all be all of modern wrestling games!

So stoked for the S-NT!

Picking up my favorite physical games over the course of the next few months so I’ll have a library ready to go for it (been emulating for years)

I’m almost done already for games I want to own (Mario World+All-Stars, Mario RPG, DKC trilogy - got the SFC trilogy for $18 shipped no really need for English text lol, and got a good deal on a Turtles in Time). Will be enough to tide me over between it and the Hakchi2’ed SNES Classic until (if he does it) Kevtris releases SNES cores for it to play games from the SD slot.

What a time to be alive!

Re: Square Enix Explains Why The Secret Of Mana Remake Isn't Coming To Switch

So for someone who is a bit of an RPG noobie (only experience I have is Super Mario RPG, don’t judge, I had much different tastes as a kid/teenager/adult) but I’ve been getting an itch to give some of these classics a try (especially now with the SNES Classic). Should I grind through Earthbout first since it seems more noob friendly and then jump into stuff like Mana and FFIII or start with Mana as my next step into the 16-Bit era RPGs?

@impurekind

The one thing I discovered with that, is that you have to hold whatever your button combo is for a second or two (by default it’s down + select). I thought it wasn’t working the first time I tried it lol. It’s smart though, it tries to keep people from accidentally resetting back to menu

Re: The Inevitable SNES Classic Mini Hack Is Well Underway

@Tibob yeah, I probably should get on that myself. There are the obvious ones (DKC 2 and 3, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario All-Stars, TMNT Turtles in Time, Mega Man X2 and X3 - if the emulator can handle it) I’m gonna try to keep mine around 70-80 as well. Should be more than enough for the plug and play set up

Re: Gallery: The North American SNES Classic Mini Is Boxy, But Good

Got an American (which should be in my hands today) and a European one that was shipped yesterday from Game.UK

I even stocked up on Wii Super Famicom controllers (bought 4 over the course of the summer) so I can save the originals that came with the system (thank you extension cord)

Looking forward to it!

@joey302

The entire licensed US library is around 1gig, so if there’s only 512MB of Storage (less once you take into account formatting, and preexisting games/software) you won’t be able
To put he entire library on it, BUT there’s plenty of room to put the top 100-200 games on the system, plus some import gems and compatable translations/hacks. So, it’s more than the average person would ever really play though in a life time

Re: New Splatoon, Legend of Zelda and Super Smash Bros. amiibo Announced

didn't feel like fighting and hoping with US retailers on the Player 2 (original) Bayonetta, so I preordered it through Game.UK for $25 (us) shipped. Been wanting reasonably priced Bayonetta figures (even if they are in Amiibo form). The alternative is the really expensive Play Arts Kai figure or statue that each fetch anywhere from $150 to $500 on ebay (screw that). got the regular Bayonetta (From the second game) at Gamestop.

so I'm set luckily

such great memories behind this game. my first playing of it came one summer as a preteen. Went to my aunt and uncle's house in Virginia with a couple of my cousins for a week. Was my first exposure to NES Batman, Super Mario 3, Lethal Weapon 2 and Big Trouble in Little China (rented them on VHS). Needless to say a great week!

I'm all for the freemium model, I can deal with 3 30second ads 3 times in a 25 minute window. But, the only complaint I have is the same d&#m ad (sometimes all 3 ads in one commercial break).

that being said, when winter rolls around, I'm probably doing premium. $60 for a year of HD, Ad free anime is an insane deal!
