@NF6429 There's a lot of things they could do to improve Smash 4.

Here's my personal idea:
They can use ideas from the ballot for characters. Maybe 6-8 new characters at most, though. Wolf, Snake, Ice Climbers, Rayman, King K. Rool, Isaac, Inkling. All of them probably scored high on the ballot. For modes, Target Smash needs to return. Put Smash Run and Tour on the same console, or create an entirely different game. There only needs to be a few more new stages. If they do something along these lines and make all DLC available from the start, they have given me a reason to buy the same game for a third time.

@Neon_Blues Because many titles - old and fairly new - are extremely expensive these days. Some haven't even been released outside of Japan such as half the Fire Emblem franchise. Illegal methods make these games easier to play without spending a ridiculous amount on a single game. You can also play games with improved visuals and customs controls on emulators.

Of course they're down. They're now more obtainable and the Smash series is over outside of three characters. It will go up by 7,000% once Waluigi releases, though.

I want to finish my Smash series collection (currently at 35/59), and Splatoon (3/8. I was going to buy the rest this month but my headphones broke) but I can't afford the things. £10.99 is honestly a little too expensive.

It may be short but it has high replayability and a bunch of extras to make up for it. That's how Star Fox works.

There's a difference

Not every game needs online multiplayer and I don't see how it would work in Star Fox.

The point about controls varies from person to person. I got used to them instantly, while others took an hour or few and some simply couldn't get used to it at all.

@memoryman3 Having 2 new characters from the start and maybe 10 more added over a year or two makes sense actually.

More ideas:
I feel like Codename STEAM and The Last Story deserve more attention. Henry and Zael for Smash.
Splatoon is popular and Inkling probably did well on the ballot, throw them in.
I would say Dark Samus and Tingle but they're assist trophies. Maybe they could be upgraded to playable.
If they could get Heihachi from Tekken to work this time, that would be fantastic.
A Fire Emblem character who doesn't use swords. Hector, Ephraim or Micaiah, preferrably the first choice, would be fit for this role.
Paper Mario's appearance in Smash is long overdue. He's a third (fourth if you count 64/Melee Luigi) Mario but his moveset could be completely different.
Another Xenoblade rep would be nice. Could Reyn have his time? Elma? Seven? Cross?

Perhaps the ballot served a great purpose after all.

I could see Smash being updated with some of the 3D models improved, the skeleton changes in 8 player smash removed, Break The Targets brought back, a few more stages, a fixed character select and 6-8 new characters, along with all the DLC being base game.

The most likely candidates for new characters would be Wolf and Ice Climbers.
From the ballot I can see K. Rool, Isaac, maybe Snake and maybe Rayman.
I could see a gen 7 Pokemon happening as well.

please please please please have characters from more games than shadow/dark dragon (and the blade of light) and awakening

Those two games have possibly the worst casts in the entire series imo (Awakening being the better of the two because atleast the characters there have more lines of dialogue than a generic death quote) and I was very disappointed to find out that this crossover was just Awakening and Shadow Dragon characters, redesigned to the point where I can barely recognise them. I was hoping to see fan favourites from the entire series such as Joshua, Sigurd, Ike, Hector, the great Erk etc but nope, just Awakening and Shadow Dragon.

Although it will probably just be FE1/11 and 13 again with some added Fates.
