The Shinkiro artwork with all the characters is too iconic. In my head that is the art for the NEO GEO version, and I associate this buggy snes conversion with that western artwork more.

@Yoshi3 Royal is built on a PS3 game and therefore in the Switch 1's spec range. Very different case and the time that would be needed for a Switch 1 version is probably not worth the returns they would actually get from it.

@TrueBlueYoshi Street Fighter V was a smaller success and had 6 seasons of DLC so expect 6 to continue for a long time.

Fatal Fury 2 over Special is an odd choice.

The MK1 port was the same and that had to make a lot more sacrifices.

Strange Journey Redux waters down the gameplay with removing the subapp limit, overpowered commander skills and new subapps to make the game easier. The game also adds save anywhere in a game not really designed around this.

Aside from the gameplay being worse, the art direction is inferior, obligatory remake girl is a Mary Sue, the three new endings miss the point of the original endings entirely. It doesn't feel respectful to the original game at all.

There are a few decent additions. I liked the womb of grief enough gameplay wise. But I would never recommend SJR over the original.

Nocturne, Strange Journey DS and Devil Survivor/Overclocked are the best games in the series and Soul Hackers is way too low here.

@UltimateOtaku91 Its just PlayStation being bigger in the UK and most people not double dipping in general. The Japanese preorder numbers were much higher for Switch than PS4 and PS5 as Nintendo is bigger there.

These fans are really dumb, most of the 360 games in Rare Replay are emulated which would not work on the Switch. It is buggy enough on the Xbox One.

Kamiya is a genius game designer but has never been the greatest storyteller. Even Bayonetta 1 forgets one of the objectives laid out at the start of the game. I want to see his concepts but I don't know if the other 5 episodes stories would have been the correct path.

Fire Emblem still used ideas from Kaga from Binding Blade through to Radiant Dawn, so I doubt his influence will entirely be gone. But I'm very happy to hear the man thinks the series will continue after a certain interaction farmer on X tried to insistent the series had no future.

This is fine. He will probably be hired by Tencent or Netease to be given full creative freedom again after not directing for a decade, and the Bayonetta franchise will benefit without his storytelling or infamous Kamiya gimmicks after 3. Shame about Project GG but I will check out whatever he works on next.

I feel bad for all the developers who will have to put COD on Switch for the sake of Microsoft getting a merger through, I imagine PS4/XBO is already a pain in the ass.

Fire Emblen Awakening is one of the worst games I have ever played and I still feel offended by what they did to Lucina here.

I loathe this game. Final Fantasy VII Remake really tricked people into believing the compilation media is any good.

@victordamazio It was a joke but I seriously don't think this is a big enough loss for its own article. Fates Revelation is widely hated by fans for cheapening the games premise, its ridiculous story, poor balancing and gimmicky map design.
I would argue it soured fan opinions on Fates as a whole given the other two routes are largely inoffensive, poor writing aside. Revelation actively made Fates a worse game.

Revelation is terrible. It's only a good thing that less people will be able to play that storytelling and game design abomination.

N64 games shouldn't be worth much more than SNES games. Nintendo would have a lot of nerve asking for more money when their online service is barebones as is.

November release date gives the game a lot of competition but I think it'll pull through. Here's hoping for gameplay at E3.

@RareFan K Rool and Banjo are in good positions as is, just because a character is your favourite does not mean they need a buff.
Pyra/Mythra might be a little overtuned but I don't see an issue with Cloud or especially Byleth. Byleth was honestly very mediocre before the latest patch made them okay.

I would love this to be released in the west. This is one of my favourite RPGs.

Funny how they redrew shiva and max for bosses and have redrawn sprites sin the character biographies but both are only unlockable in retro form.

these ports aren’t selling poorly either, given how witcher 3 and doom were considered financially successful

RE engine is very well optimised and can run on low end PCs. RE2, 3 and 7 can absolutely be ported to switch if capcom can figure out how to make a seamless transition between docked/portable. I’m not sure about Devil May Cry 5, as that game has more happening on screen.

this is completely fair. consumers are using 0 scores as a means of demanding the removal of a ridiculous limitation that is very blatantly designed to sell more consoles and copies of the game. shockingly enough, not everyone has the money to spend on this crap.

one of my biggest issues with the doom 2016 port is that the text was so small on the switch. glad they’re putting in effort to fix that.
