Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster was something of a shock announcement during the recent mini-Nintendo Direct and will offer Switch owners the chance to experience a seminal release in the franchise.
It has since been revealed that Japanese gamers will get their hands on the game on 29th October this year – before their western counterparts – and furthermore, they'll be getting a special limited edition bundle which comes with a host of cool extras.
Priced at 13,980 yen, the limited edition will include a 106-page "Ayakashi Special Final Issue" magazine, a 2-disc "New Piano Arrange" and "Rare" soundtrack, a "Vortex" case and a plug-in "Amala Tenrinko aroma lamp".
Pre-orders aren't available yet, but you can register your interest at Play-Asia now.

What is an aroma lamp?
Edit: ok, Google'd it
the West always gets a special collectors edition set from Atlus so Nocturne remake and 5 will likely be no different
Well well, isn't that kinda classy. Seems like it'd look better as a table lamp or full-size lamp. But if it's imitating a street, hanging, or floating lamp, then yeah, this is fine.
if the amala link lamp can't spin, it's worthless
I'm very happy this game finds its way to modern consoles. Though I just don't get why Atlus won't remaster Persona 3. This game needs a definitive edition that can be accessed on modern systems. The success of P4 on Steam and sales numbers P5 should theoretically make this the easiest business decision for Atlus/Sega ever....
Saw this when the game was first announced, it looks great. Would be tempted to preorder but the game would be a waste of money due to the amount of text.
Hopefully Europe gets some decent goodies too - even if they aren't that lamp.
@HefHughner They could be doing it now, they have HD models for the main characters anyway. However it's probably the least popular of the three, and already has 3 versions.
At least P4G was a Vita game, it looked somewhat decent on PC. I doubt FES or P3P would be that simple or look very sharp.
...would definitely be up for it though!
I’d be very tempted if only I had space for this stuff!
I read the title as “limited edition boobies” and immediately clicked. I need Jesus.
@RickD You mean you didn't tell her that you play SMT for research? Surely everyone can agree that role-playing an apocalyptic scenario in this way is more healthy and sane than, say, mandatory military service (for males) or survivalist bush camps?
The plug-in lamp in this case is an update to the special edition incense burner from the old collector version of the game, which mimics an in game model (if memory serves me). This is why it is listed as the 2020 model.
As long as it has english option then good if not then it stinks...
@Slowdive So the announcement of the 5th game was the 25th anniversary thing (that is, 2017 was 25 years since the first SMT was released, or 30 years since the first MT game)?
looks so cool now bring all the ds games on one cart
@Anguspuss Yesss .... but also noooo, oh all dat double-dipping Oo
@Ralek85 i know the double dipping but tnik of it on that lovely switch screen or docked especially those naughty demons.
I would love this to be released in the west. This is one of my favourite RPGs.
The lamp will fill your entire house with the stench of demon sweat, drastically decreasing its value
looks lovely ... we'll probably get a digital release lol
