@topsekret In addition to Vestaria Saga noted by another commenter, Tear Ring Saga for PS1 is also made by the original Fire Emblem creator, and is basically FE in all but name. Highly recommend finding the translation patch and giving that one a go.
I'd strongly recommend System Shock 2 to any fans of games like Bioshock, Dishonored, Deus Ex, Prey 2017, etc. SS2 is an incredibly underappreciated classic of the genre. Playing the first one would give you some deeper context, but isn't necessary at all, and 2 is much, much better than the original or the remake of the original in my opinion.
I thought this game was a blast. It's way over the top in the best way imho. If you like Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior, you'll like this too. It's just dumb fun.
Also, the word 'vengeance' is intentionally spelled incorrectly as 'vengance' in the title of the game, which I personally find to be a nice little cherry on top of the toilet cake.
I played the original and the fan translation of the second one - both awesome games. It'd be cool if more people were able to play them. I heard the 3rd one isn't as good, but I would be interested in playing it anyway if that one was ever translated - officially or otherwise.
Awesome games. I'd highly recommend if you're over 35 or so and grew up playing video games. Wish there was a fan translation for the 3rd one too, though I hear it isn't nearly as good.
I played it on PS5 and unfortunately it's just not a good game. The concept is much better than the execution. Pretty much everything about it is subpar. Puzzles are more tedious than difficult, and the story is awful to say the least. I would not recommend it even for fans of the genre.
Got this on PC in a humble bundle recently but haven't played it yet. Dividing the price equally between the games in the bundle, it was only about $2 or so. Had no idea about the GBA stuff, hahaha.. Looking forward to giving it a shot at some point.
Good on them, it's an awesome DLC. I never did beat the final boss of the original game, but I did manage to beat this DLC. Even though I play a lot of games, I'm not that good at them, so I'm pretty proud of myself for this "accomplishment" 🤓
The Snowboard Kids games are so good! They're pretty spendy though. I bought the Japanese version of SK2 on my trip to Japan a few years ago for like $15US - possibly the best game purchase of the whole trip! Hopefully they put those games on the NSO expansion pack!
@WaffleRaptor01 I already spelled it out for one of the elitist snobs in comment #63. Some of these people seem to think they are the only one who get to decide what art is or what being an artist means. It's gatekeeping non-sense that stems from narrow-minded thought processes.
@VoidofLight Right. On the whole I agree with everything you said. I put in the effort, using my imagination and a set of tools, to create something new, yes. Whether or not it's "stolen" is debatable imo, but either way, stolen art is still art.
Edit: I mean to say I agree with your comment addressed to me, #72. Your previous comment, #69, I very much disagree with.
@Waka_the_Prophet I did make the images, and I did put in effort. They took sometimes (not always, but often) over several hours of iterating, touching up/drawing by hand, and/or re-running them through a different AI, and/or erasing select parts completely, and/or erasing select parts and then re-running a different prompt for that specific part of the image, etc. The images wouldn't and couldn't exist without me. Its similar to collage (or mashup music), yes. The final output is my creation. You can call it unoriginal, or a ripoff, or unethical, whatever, but it is art, and I did make it.
@Waka_the_Prophet I'm using tools of choice to express myself. The images I created wouldn't exist without me. AI allowed me make those images in the same way a guitar, or maybe more to the point, a drum machine, allows a musician make music. I made those images. You can say it's banal, that's fine, but saying that's not acceptable, or not allowed, or not art, or that people who use AI aren't creating art, is gatekeeping. You aren't the authority on how people are allowed to express themselves.
@Waka_the_Prophet Okay, Mr Gatekeeper. You're acting like painters aren't real artists unless they make their own paint, or photographers aren't artists unless the build their own camera.
@nessisonett How am I profitting? I'm literally spending money on it, and gaining nothing but the satisfaction of looking at images that didn't exist until I brought them into existence. Really didn't expect such a nasty and closed minded response from you.
@Dr_Luigi Death's Door was fine, but Tunic, in my opinion, is truly special. I didn't think DD was nearly as unique or interesting. But to each their own 🙂
Beat the early access version last summer.. Great game! Anyone know what they've added or how the final version is different than the early access version?
I just wanted to say that I appreciate this article spreading awareness to potential fans. Kaga also did TearRing Saga for PS1 and Berwick Saga for PS2, both of which have fan translated English patches for those interested.
I've been playing Vestaria Saga over the past month or so, and just made it to the final chapter. It's a great game that old school Fire Emblem fans will find both familiar and enjoyable. I can't wait to finish it and start this one next!
I've played this game almost literally every day since launch and have never spent a single dime on it and have never been progression blocked or anything similar. One of the best mobile games ever made by a longshot.
The first game was too much like Zelda, and had almost nothing new or unique to bring to the table. This appears to be more of the same. Actually, it somehow looks like even more of a clone than the first one was if that's even possible. Not going to get this unless they show off something that's actually original.
I've played this (almost quite) literally every day since launch, and have never spent a dime on it, and I have also never had to wait for a cooldown before I could keep playing ever. The game is extremely generous, and the amount of actually fun content is staggering, and it's free.

Re: Poll: Resident Evil 6 Turns 12 - Does It Really Deserve Its Dire Reputation?
It's not great, but it's also not that bad of a game. Playing solo, I had more fun with 6 than I did with 5.
Re: PSA: The New Denpa Men Is Available Now On The Switch eShop
I never finished the third one on 3DS, and probably never will, so it's unlikely I will ever get around to playing this one.

Re: Video: What Were Your Top Five Switch Games Of 2022?
5. Splatoon 3
4. Kirby and the Forgotten Land
3. Pokemon Legends Arceus
2. Fire Emblem Warriors
1. Pokemon Violet
Have yet to play Bayonetta 3 and Mario + Rabbids SoH, but those would probably be right up there pushing out Splatoon and possibly Kirby.
