Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 14th)

Finally decided to get into to Hyrule Warriors, on the Wii U. Tried the 1st level once or twice before. Today I got through the first two levels and had lots of fun!
Also trying to finish the story mode in Lego DC Super Villains on the Switch. After that planning on tackling another Luigi's Mansion 3 floor.

@Giygas_95 I got Luigi's Mansion 3 on the switch while it was on sale. But after looking at the opening scene I realized I never finished the first two games even though I have them on the 3DS. So I'm about halfway through the first game on the 3DS now or I guess the remake of the GameCube game. I'm having fun with but I'm kind of debating whether I just want to go ahead and play Luigi's Mansion 3 on the switch?

Re: Space Hunted: The Lost Levels Is Coming Exclusively To Wii U This Week

I still play my Wii U weekly. Have a huge backlog of games — well over 120 games. I am a 50 year old working ass adult, with very limited time to play games each week. Yes, I want a Switch, but when I have such a huge backlog of great games on my Wii U and 3DS, and still more games I want to get, why get a Switch now?

This game looks fun, but I am really stoked at the idea of Shakedown: Hawaii coming to the Wii U — Fingers crossed!

I honestly don't understand why so many people feel the need to put down games that still come out on systems that are not the Switch? Most likely the publisher has a financial reason. Maybe they have put it out on all other platforms and just hoping for a bit of additional revenue. Or, maybe Nintendo's partner publishing agreements suck and they need to release something under the Wii U to qualify to post for the Switch.

I have always loved reading Nintendo Life as most of its readers are fairly mature. But taking pleasure in trolling or bashing a console that you aren't playing just seems a bit immature, and I'm not sure what you are trying to get out of posting like this?

Re: Feature: The Best Movie Licences On Nintendo Systems

Not a movie license, but a TV show license: Batman: The Brave and the Bold – The Videogame for the Wii. Got a pretty good score on NintendoLife. I have played the 1st level or two and it seems pretty cool.

A note on some other movie licenses:
There was a Back to the Future: The Game on the Wii. It was a Telltale Games story game.

If you include the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS Lego games then you get most all of the Star Wars movies, Indiana Jones, The Hobit, The LOTR, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Batman, and much more.

If you include Wii U Lego Dimensions then you get a crap load of movie & TV licenses, including: The LEGO Movie, The Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, The Simpsons, Jurassic World, Scooby-Doo!, Legends of Chima,
The Wizard of Oz, Doctor Who, Ninjago, Ghostbusters (1984), Ghostbusters (2016), Adventure Time, Mission: Impossible, Harry Potter, The A-Team, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Sonic the Hedgehog, Gremlins, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, The LEGO Batman Movie, Knight Rider, The Goonies, The Powerpuff Girls, Teen Titans Go!, Beetlejuice

And, the Wii and Wii U Disney Infinity and a ton of great Star Wars, Marvel (check out Spider-Man), and many other movie tie-in games (play sets, which were full games that just ran on the Disney Infinity platform). Majority of these were really good too and very faithful to their source material.

@Razieluigi Great call. I actually decided to finally pull this game out of my backlog and start playing it this past week. Just finished the first couple of levels. I love the art direction they took with this, and the Wii controls seem to be very serviceable. So far seems to be a fun game.

Re: Nintendo Discusses Plans For E3 2019, Will Release A Video Presentation

@chardir I have been kind of following that. Was holding out for a "pro" version, but now I think this might be much further off. Time to finally get on the Switch bandwagon.

I've had a huge backlog of Wii U titles that I am plowing through so I haven't been in a huge rush. But there are a lot of really cool Switch titles I want to play.

Re: Nintendo Discusses Plans For E3 2019, Will Release A Video Presentation

Hang on, when was it announced that there would be no new hardware announced? I have been waiting to buy a Switch when a new refreshed "pro" version comes out.

My birthday is next week and I told my wife I was waiting on this new version I know will be released at the end of the summer. If they have stated publicly that they are not releasing new hardware soon, then screw the wait I'll go ahead and get a Switch now.

Re: Looking For A Brand New Wii U? That'll Be $800 Please

Still play mine every day, have well over 120 games for it, and a huge backlog. That and my backlog of 3DS games keeping me busy. Looking to get a Switch this summer, but don't know if I will ever stop playing my Wii U.

Hell, I only have 206 of 1000+ gold bricks on Lego Dimensions. Might be playing that game itself on my Wii U for years and years!

Re: Review: de Blob 2 (Switch)

Actually going to disagree with the author about the game play being suited for younger players. I am nearly 50, I played both of these games on the Wii, and then its sequel on the 360. There were very challenging sections in both games. These are actually some of my favorite games of all time. I found the difficulty "just right." I've always wished I could get my hands on some original artwork from the games. They just have such an amazing style to the games and the cut scenes. While I haven't bought the games on the Switch, I am thrilled that they are being exposed to a new audience and really hoping we see a 3rd game in the series come out as a result.

Re: Feature: The History And Evolution of Donkey Kong

That was a great video. Thank you. I remember when Donkey Kong first arrived in arcades. I absolutely loved it. I was beyond excited that it also came packed in and arrived first on the ColecoVision home console. When I was 13 I would play that game nonstop just rolling the score over. Feeling a bit nostalgic, think I might download this to my Wii U.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo Switch Learned A Lot From Wii U’s Struggles During Its Own First Year

dcstud

I think the Wii U has become my favorite console of all time (2nd ColecoVision, 3rd Dreamcast), and that's saying a lot because I remember when my Dad brought home one of the first pong clones. I now have more than 100 games for the system, the majority of them digital. This has left me with a huge backlog of games to play. And, I still have a couple of games I still want. Was hoping to be caught up enough to consider getting a Switch soon, but it might very well be another year for me. One key feature has been the gamepad, it has been handy to pick up and play while the family is watching a show, or keeps peace when my youngest teen is playing his XBOX.
