I currently playing Lego City on the WiiU.
Enjoy a lot, so far.
The game uses of the GamePad is very nice.
"...and more franchise tie-ins than you can shake a plastic brick at."
Challenge accepted.
Is Cars 3 worthwhile? It looks like it could be fun.
😫I’ve just bought Harry Potter although I’m in uk.
I cannot decide if I want to get Marvel Super Heros 2 or Lego City. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Ah yes, because everyone wants CARS 3: DRIVEN TO WIN
In reality, I might give the Scribblenauts Mega Pack a try.
@Victorsigg Lego city definitely. It’s the most unique lego game ever with a hilarious story, open world and lots of unlockables and content. Marvel’s good too, but I’d say it’s just another lego game while lego city is so special.
@sketchturner not really IMO. It has a nice story and translates well into the cars series, but besides cheap power ups and a couple mediocre modes I’d skip out on it. Unless you are a fan of Pixar and not racing than I’d take advantage of the price.
@Victorsigg If you’re into story, play time, and humor than LEGO city is for you. The story is inthralling, it has a long but not stretched out story and actually has humor that isn’t cheesy one liners (most of the time 😂).
If you are into marvel and play opportunities, or just want to stick to the basics I would pick Lego Marvel. Hope this helps 😉
UK ignored as per usual
Cool. Thank you for all the help. I think I will get Lego City and Lego Marvel later. These games go on sale relatively often and they are cheep on amazon. Have the bugs been worked out in city? I have read on several reviews that it was buggy.
I see you, LEGO Harry Potter. I’ll think about it. I played Year 1 on Wii once, it was pretty fun.
@Victorsigg Hate to tell ya, but while everyone loves Lego videogames they have a history of being very buggy at times. This is especially relevant to the new Lego games. Lego City, Super Heroes 2, Avengers, etc. most of them happen to be buggy. However, the gameplay often outweighs the bugs. Also, note that you may experience a long load time. Otherwise, most of the Lego games are an amazing time and if it weren't for the fact Nintendo has to release new games every week I would be playing all the Lego games on Switch.
$60 for a Lego game...? Who's buying this?
The LEGO games are excellent for beginner gamers and families. The play is simple and it doesn't take much to advance. For older players, many of the puzzles are clever and somewhat satisfying. My daughter and I are playing Harry Potter and considering that it is actually two games in one, $12.50 is an excellent price. I do agree, however, that LEGO games can be buggy. Some boss battles seem to end randomly after the expected solution does nothing, but this problem goes back as far as the second Star Wars game, based on the original trilogy.
I'd die for a Complete Edition of Lego Dimensions, with the toys to life functions removed.
Lego City Undercover for under 10 bucks is a steal, god damn i love that game!
So.. which Lego game should I pick????
@HotGoomba you really should. the game is a blast
Wish they were still selling LEGO Lord of the Rings. That's by far my favorite LEGO game, but they lost the license to it some time back, so the game is no longer for sale anywhere.
These games been on sale for awhile
I wish they'd make another Lego city. Far and away the best Lego game. Dimensions was good, we have a load of the figures.
@RhiannonRune especially if they added all of that cut content that was supposed to be in season 3. That game was probably the best LEGO game and one of the best toys to life games
@sketchturner I'm curious too. Was eyeing on the Wii U for a long while, then forgot about it.
LEGO City Undercover and DC Super-Villains are probably the best of the LEGO games. Definitely worth picking up.
@Blooper987 i do too! But i'm also a total lego fangirl so i couldn't resist. Shame it didn't get a switch release either.
@sketchturner @sketchturner I bought it yesterday, my kids are big Lightning McQueen fans, it's actually pretty fun. the voiceovers are genuine, the tracks are clever, and you can jump, like straight in the air off the ground, jump. My 5 yr old needs to get her game driving skills up, but that was evident in Mario Kart 8. =D For $10, it's a fun racing game with good graphics. The only downside to the game is no gyroscope controls for driving like MK. Steering is done by thumbstick. Was kind of fun to blast by all these race cars with Mater. =D
