@Stocksy couldn’t agree with you more. I don’t own an Xbox as it doesn’t appeal to me but have a PS4 for things like Sekiro, Red Dead, Tomb Raider etc. I have my Switch mainly for the old arcade or Indie games. I haven’t actually bought that many first party games for it but not out of want. I then have my retro systems (too many) and use those regularly. A hardcore gamer is not the guy playing nothing but FIFA and Call of Duty.

@LinktotheFuture I have the 7800 Frenzy/Berzerk double home brew cart from Atari Age. Frenzy is even better.

I had the game Cube version. Sadly sold it many winters past. 😿

I’d gladly pay £30 for a physical version but I won’t pay over £10-12 for a digital game . Something about spending more than that doesn’t seem right when I’m not fully owning something.

@PBandSmelly actually the lynx has a superb games library with some excellent arcade ports. The Jaguar is also a great machine to own now if you are into the homebrew scene. Some really dedicated and passionate dudes regularly making games for it. Atari Age, for example, push out superb homebrew carts for the 2600, 5200 and the Jag. My 7800 and Jag are my favourite systems. However owning a Jag back in the 90s was a pretty sorry affair. I speak from experience. 😂 saying that Tempest 2000 was my favourite game of that decade.

@TheBigK no you don’t- I recently played e before part 2 and whereas there are a few references you may be slightly confused at, it’s totally playable on its own. I will say this though- stick with it. When I first started the clunky controls made me almost stop playing. However, once the world opens up you become completely absorbed by these incredible characters. I put in over 100 hours without even touching the DLC, then went and bought Witcher 2- also great but way, way shorter- and have also read one of the books.

@Rhaoulos because some of us really really enjoy collecting homebrew carts. All the Atari ones I’ve bought are superb and the community of developers and fans is great. I’ve gotten to know quite few of the guys who make them and they are really passionate and dedicated dudes. Sometimes they make a cart run of only 40 games.

@ilikeike most homebrew physical games are for old systems. I’ve bought over 20 Jaguar homebrew carts in the last year and a half. Bought quite a few 2600 and 7800 ones too.

I would love an arcade perfect version of Gorf. Only one I know of is then homebrew for Jag CD and it’s no longer available.

@Anti-Matter what exactly are you laughing at. Do you really like games at all. This is an outstanding game and will still be playable in another 25 years.

@ClassSonicSatAm this is my favourite racing game of all time along with the original Ridge Racer.

@HalBailman you should really get a Saturn. Some incredible SHUMPS on there. Radiant Silvergun is a work of art.

@Moroboshi876 the Mega Drive version was jaw dropping in its day. It looks quite rough these days. I picked one up boxed for very little on eBay a couple of years ago.
I still play it today but this looks astonishing so I doubt I’ll ever go back once I get this. Can’t wait till it drops over here.

@AugustusOxy couldn’t agree more. I paid ten quid as I went in with some friends. I never actually play online but my little un does. I figured ten quid a year and I can play some old games now and again. It’s like £1 a month! I have most the games I wanted on carts still anyway but for the money we pay, it is a little silly to complain.

I cannot believe this is the look they all went with. It looks like some guy dressed up as part of a 90s stag do.

@boatie play it on a tablet or even a phone- as it’s a text based adventure it loses nothing from being on those platforms.

Oh and finally started Fallout 3- about 8 hours in and loving it.

Just picked up 13 games for the Saturn so top of my list tonight will be Radiant Silvergun, Panzer Dragoon Saga and Bastogun.

@w00dm4n 100! Really- I picked that up for the Mega Drive for less than £20.

I’ve had both of these on PS 2 for about three years now. Paid about 5 quid for both. Never actually played them. Better get on with X as soon as possible.

I also don’t see the point at all in pre ordering a digital game. I mean- why? 🤔

@MJInnocent depends on the style of games he’s played. If he’s been raised on hard as nails retro games he should be fine. My ten year old loves this game.

Atari homebrew and classics this weekend- Scramble And Space Invaders 7800, Halo 2600, Kaboom, Yar’s Revenge to name but a few. Then Star Wars Arcade on the Jaguar. 👊

I gave up after about 6 hours of alien isolation- spent the majority of it hiding. Such a boring game in my eyes.

@Medic_alert not really- I will not pay anything over 15 quid for a digital game. Never have. I’d rather buy the physical version on another system. Something doesn’t feel right with me paying that much for something you don’t actually own. But each to their own-I’m pleased so many will be happy with the digital only version.

@RazorThin hear hear 👊 I have been collecting Atari 2600 carts over the last few months and both myself and my kids have been loving them. Some of the new homebrew titles are excellent. The visuals are no where near hd. 😂

Deep deep into the endgame on Witcher 3. Wasn’t keen at first but I’m pleased I stuck with it- sensational game.
Centipede on Atari 7800 and Loopz on Jag. Waiting patiently for Scramble and space invaders 7800 homebrew and Halo 2600 arriving from Atari Age.

When is Nintendo going to catch up with the other two in terms of eshop and sales. You can pick up the Witcher 3 on ps store for about 5 quid in the current sale. The sale here is pitiful.

People complaining about the price- get a life please. These are limited releases and not mass produced so the production costs will be more than normal releases. Also, th resale value is huge so just see it as an investment. If not buy it from the estore.

@Alto you could probably buy a GameCube and all three games for 90 quid. I got 4 for about 7 quid last year.

@Moroboshi876 reading this a few months later but I’m kind of agreeing with you. I’m here as the game is currently 7.99 and I know nothing about this series. I’m buying it but wouldn’t at its normal price of 15.99. My price point for digital is usually 10 quid and I rarely go over that. Once we start hitting 15, I’m very uncomfortable paying that for something I don’t outright own. I’d rather pay 25 for a cartridge than 15 on digital. But hey ho- I’m buying it now.

How anyone who remotely likes Nintendo or video games wasn’t impressed then what do you want? The Zelda news was incredible.

@misterMike onside4ing I paid about 8 quid with a few friends on family sharing I’d say a game of that quality does add a lot of value.

@OorWullie however I absolutely love Warframe. Can’t believe that was free!
