I love what digital eclipse are doing and have the physical Atari 50 and picked up gold 1 and 2 digital. The only reason was they weren’t that expensive and I’m obsessed with Jeff Minter. I’m not paying 30 quid for this digital. If it were physical I would have bought it already.
@Antraxx777 Ne is my favourite developer of all time. The majority of these are absolutely worth playing and as they work out at round about 55p each then all of them are.
@TotalHenshin totally agree with you- it’s by far the most important release here. What Digital Eclipse are doing is nothing short of incredible and I really hope this is reviewed on here and given some publicity. Jeff Minter is a legend and needs recognition for all he has contributed to gaming. This is the release of the year for me.
Well I’m pleased you’ve finally given these titles some coverage. I don’t understand why you ignored the majority of them on release. Atari have been putting out incredible titles for a while now.
Well this is best gaming news I’ve heard in years. Really hope we get a physical release. The only downside is the lack of iOS games which are currently lost to us and of course no Space Giraffe which I have wanted on the Switch since it was released. I’ll more than happily take this with open arms though.
@joey302 I think if they do this yet again then it will be parting ways with Nintendo after over 30 years. You can’t build long term relationships if you keep treating your consumer base like this.
@Truegamer79 I’ve bought more new releases for my Jag in the past three years than I have for the Switch and PS 4 combined. Granted- a fair few of them were ports but the Switch has its fair share of those too. 🤓
I’m sacred to think how many games I have and haven’t played properly. About 160 on the switch, 100 on ps plus, the whole of games pass and then about 300 retro carts and discs across about 25 systems. I can’t stop buying retro games.
@patbacknitro18 plenty of noir stories work in modern settings- under the silver lake, mullholland drive, brick, kiss kiss bang bang, Veronica Mars.... and future noir works too- Blade Runner.
I love me story driven games that are basically a movie you play through. I love me Alien-Alien 3. I hate this game! Tried for over ten hours to let it win me over. It’s play play- Alien around hide in locker for two hours then die. Hated it. Wish I didn’t .
Night Trap is a hoot when you play it with friends. You need to be old Sokol armed with pen and paper so someone can write down times and what room you need to be in. It’s crap as a one player by yourself job.
Reducing to 9 cents is silly but the simple fact is that a lot of games are simply too much for digital titles. I have a 10-12 pound cap on what I will pay for a digital game and if more games launched at that price rather than 20-25 then I’m sure they would see greater sales right away. But yes- the shop is cluttered and not beneficial for sellers.
@Anti-Matter yep and Pokemon is about as mainstream as you can get. I think the point most are making is that you come on here and bad mouth anything which doesn’t fit into your tunnel visioned view of the world and it gets a bit boring.
@brendon987 you can save at any point you want. I have three save points. Whenever I reach a health point and up to 100 I save. I also save under this one when I am maybe 50 but this is just for exploration sake. The downer is when you automatically save when you are really low on health. That’s why you should save between more then one save point regularly. This game is superb- never played it back in the day- and has had me enthralled for hours.
@dskatter nothing strange about this comment at all. Classic movies are still superb- the good the bad and the ugly is decades old but still holds its head up way higher than most movies made today. D]same for these games. Anyone who says old games shouldn’t be reviewed based on their value as a piece of entertainment should just stop and go punk up FIFA and call it day games wise. I collect homebrews for the Atari 2600 and most of them are better than the garbage that costs millions of dollars to make these days.
I understand releasing limited versions of digital games but this baffles me. I bought shadows of the empire for less than ten quid on the N64 not so long ago. It isn’t a rare game. 🤔
@electrolite77 😂😭😂😂😭😂 I use mine exclusively as a portable. Rarely play it on the tv. Also rarely take it out the house. The beauty for me is to be able to play it anywhere in the house. So unless he’s been spying through my windows, he wouldn’t see me.

@Krambo42 I got the 2600 version and you are right- it’s excellent.

@joey302 I have Rocket Ranger on the way.

@gingerbeardman pretty sure it was space invaders extreme on the DS (that may not be the exact title)

Re: Every Single Bethesda Game On Switch Is Currently On Sale
@NGNYS yet you are happy to pay £50 for games that are £10 elsewhere. 🤔
Re: Soapbox: I'm Tired Of Ports And Remakes - Where Are All Nintendo's New Ideas?
I hardly think you can lump Blade Runner 2049, one of the best films of the 2000s, into the same 80s rehash has the Ghostbusters reboot.
Re: Talking Point: Are You A Player Or Collector?
@Dethmunk jaguar- noice
Do you use Atari Age?
Re: Space Invaders Forever Is Another Compilation Headed To Switch Later This Year
Does anyone know if the Extreme is the version with visuals by Jeff. Inter?

@Supadav03 I don’t think he was being serious.
Re: Retro And Legacy Editions Announced For Aladdin And The Lion King
This is ridiculous. You can buy the originals boxed in excellent condition for less than £30 for both.

@KitsuneNight are they complete as in all episodes for that price. If so that’s a steal.
Re: Relive The Glory Days Of Podracing With This Re-Release Of Star Wars Episode 1: Racer For N64
Is this a joke? You can buy the original unboxed for 5 pounds or boxed for 20. Why would anyone pay that much for a game that is widely available?

@StevenG what 🤔 when did I say I didn’t like it 🤔
Re: Review: Doom 3 - A Dark, Unnerving Oddity In The Slayer Series That Still Impresses
@HalBailman it already is dirt cheap- it’s the price of a pint and a sandwich. 🙄
Re: Review: Doom 3 - A Dark, Unnerving Oddity In The Slayer Series That Still Impresses
@Wavey84 this is in no way a dud. I was going to download original Doom and replay it but I’m enjoying this too much.

Re: Dr. Mario World Launches A Day Earlier Than Expected, Out Now On iOS And Android
@Silly_G the only reason I didn’t buy Mario run was the fact it required internet access- pointless for kids on car journeys.

@EchoNemesis I don’t fully agree with you either. I often choose to buy on Switch (like LA Noir or Doom) over the others so I can play them anywhere.

Re: Sony Doesn't See Nintendo As A Major Rival, More Worried About Microsoft Next Generation
@San_D I would argue more kids play call of duty and fifa than Switch games. I teach year 5s and know this for a fact.
