Re: Awesome: Meet The Ultimate Nintendo Switch Game Collector

darthstuey

@bolt05 the trouble is so many people accept it and pay it. I got Wolfenstein for £6.49 on PS4 sale the other week it was like 70% off. A Goid Nintendo eshop sale £5 off. I have to admit that I’ve backed off switch eshop games in the last four months simply because of the ridiculous prices. I bought quite a few to begin with but I think it was just mania taking over me. It’s now also being over populated by utter shovelware that I rarely check it week to week like I used to a year ago.

Re: Nintendo On How It Views Indie and AAA Games

darthstuey

@therealgamer I suggest you sell you switch, which you hate so much so you can go and buy two of your precious AAA games with their stupid add ins. Then you can play with all the other spotty teenage boys on Call of Crap. Move yourself to Pushsquare.

Re: Switch Surpasses Wii U Lifetime Sales in UK, But Its Dominance Isn't As Strong As Elsewhere

darthstuey

@Kobeskillz I was never comparing them.
I think you’ll find Monkey Island franchise is still around.
I was pointing out there were excellent games on those platforms which you were just casting aside in your ill informed first comment.
You started comparing them in your reply.
But you are obviously right:
No one plays games like Elite, Doom or Lemmings anymore do they.

@Kobeskillz well I had and still have an NES so I guess I’m in a position to be informed. Mario 3 one of the best games of all time without a doubt as are many others. However I’m guessing by your comments that you never owned a C64 and perhaps weren’t even alive when they were around.
These were around years before the NES came into existence and some of the games were and still are incredible. I suggest you do some research.
By the time the NES reached the UK we were hitting the age of the Atari ST and Amiga. Some of the games on those platforms are easily as good, if not better than those on the NES.
Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and the Fate Of Atalanta spring to mind.
It was a very long time ago so my recall isn’t instant but I guess as it sounds you’ve never actually played any of these classic games then you know better.
I obviously bow to your superior knowledge.

@masterLEON and fortnite_ can’t forget what the kids are obsessed with now. Gaming in the UK is dreadful. The games my kids play are dreadful. It’s online first person shooters and Fifa. When my son and his friends play games here, they are literally in different rooms. 😂 they don’t have a clue what local co-op is.
My friend is coming round Saturday- we are setting up my Jaguar in the kitchen for beers and two player Badlands, Commando, Breakout 2000 and Llamatron.
I know what is more fun.
Sitting in a room on your own with a headset or actual human company. 🤔

Re: Review: Oh...Sir! The Hollywood Roast (Switch eShop)

darthstuey

@Lroy I totally agree with. I used to love checking games on the eshop each week. Now I shudder when I see most of them. It’s a mess of cluttered crap right now. To many poor mobile ports. I wish someone like Jeff Minter and llamasoft would port their Minotaur project iOS games. Then we can have real quality at a cheap price.

Re: Review: Gorogoa (Switch eShop)

darthstuey

@Heavyarms55 probably because idiots pay the total rip off eshop prices. I got what becomes of Edith finch and firewatch on ps store for 13 quid for the pair a few weeks ago. You can bet if they ever come across to switch they’d be 17 quid each.

Re: Review: Gorogoa (Switch eShop)

darthstuey

@MaSSiVeRiCaN I have never understood this the audience is bigger so charge less or the audience is less so charge more theory. If it’s 5 quid on the App Store it should be around that price point on any platform. Then everyone could choose to buy it on what they want. I’m sorry but I’m not paying three times the amount for a digital game just because it’s on the switch. If they’d released this at a similar price point it would be selling way more than at 15. I, like a few others, read the review then bought it on iOS.

Re: Soapbox: Switch's Rampant Success Is Proof Positive That You Should Never Write Off Nintendo

darthstuey

Well it is refreshing to see everyone being positive again but I worry that in this light then Nintendo will continue to behave in a way that has frustrated many of us for over a decade.
You want your kids to have a Switch too- that’s fine but you realise that you can’t share eshop games on a family account. All those VC games you paid hundreds for on your Wii and Wii U- we will be expecting you to pay for them again.... (probably)
Nintendo have had a great year but they really need to start listening to their customers fully. Then again what do I know? I didn’t sell 10 million consoles this year.

Re: L.A. Noire

darthstuey

Was going to get this until I found out I have to download 14gb of the game on top of the cartridge. What’s the point in buying physical if you have to do that.
I’ll pick it up on my kids 360 or wait till it’s 10 quid on PS4

Re: Poll: Have Your Say on the Best Main Series 3D Mario and Zelda Games

darthstuey

@G-Boy I went by my initial reactions to playing the games and the impact they had on me. 20 years ago when me and my mates began our Mario 64 adventure it was incompatible to anything we had played before. Orcania of time was incredible and again blew us away but it wasn’t the lightbulb moment that Mario 64 was. That’s why I voted 64. So in all I kind of agree with sir.
