@OorWullie 😂 that looks very much like my own collection- lots and lots of those top§ and bottom red borders. Anyone who says there are less than 200 excellent games hasn’t been playing games as long as us. I draw the line at Fortnite mind- not a fan.
@carlos82 battlemorph, highlander, hover strike, iron soldier 2, myst, blue lightning, world tour racing, space ace, brain dead 13, primal rage 🤔 can’t remember many more but I sure wish I hadn’t sold mine. 😿
I refuse to pay more than 10-15 for a digital game. I think it’s mad that people shell out 70 on a game they do not physically own. I buy stuff like Neo geo on digital as 6 quid seems an acceptable price point for games such as these. If games that cost much ore than that don’t come out on a cart then I wait for a sale or I just don’t bother.
This sale is pitiful compared to the PS store one going on at the moment. As always, Nintendo’s sale is littered with shovelware. Meanwhile you can pick up recent games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider at more than half price across on PS sale! Okami in Nintendo sale 11 quid odd PS store it’s 8.99.
@Spoony_Tech I didn’t like the fact that the credits rolled after 45 mins of playing it as I accidentally found the supposedly super hidden room with that key, I’m still in disbelief to this day that it was even possible.
@OorWullie I’m with you on gone home. I accidentally finished it in 45 mins. I was dumbfounded that that could happen. When the credits rolled I was just staring at the screen in disbelief. This however is completely different. It is an essential purchase for someone like yourself who has been playing games for many a year. It’s a superb experience and I can’t stress enough how much I love it. Along with Edith Finch, it’s one of my favourite games of the last few years. I picked it up for a fiver on the PS4 and due to its length I would say that full price is probably too much. It’s essentially like playing a long film. When it hits a sale I strongly recommend that you get it. 👊
@Wesker totally agree with you and have a;ways thought this. I spent £100s on vc and wiiware games only to find they are either stuck there or on a Wii u after a laborious transfer system.
@Realy_Till it is more expensive though. Is it really double the price of something like Hollow Knight better? It would sell way more at under £20 which a game with a 15-17 length should cost.
People need to just say no to these ridiculous prices for eshop games. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it for 35 quid- absolute joke. If it doesn’t sell, they will get the message. It seems though that some will pay any price for any game digitally. This is like a digital album releasing at £25 just because the vinyl is that price. Stupid.
Gamesmaster was utter crap. I was in my early 20s when it started so I guess I wasn’t the key demographic but it was full of people who knew nothing about games. Dominick Diamond was a tool and the whole ask Patrick Moore for help was just cringeworthy.
This and Bastion are two of my favourite games from the last decade. Both have incredible soundtracks to boot which I would love on vinyl but can’t afford the feckin postage! I’m in the minority as I preferred Bastion but both are so so good it doesn’t really matter. If you haven’t yet then do.
Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 have consumed me since the summer. I now hold them in higher regard than any Zelda game I’ve ever played. I have never experienced games that make you grow as a player like these do- and the sense of accomplishment when you beat that one...that one that’s been killing you for days- well there is nothing comparable to it in video games today. I vs t wait to be able to play this wherever I want and I’m guessing, for me, it will be the best gaming experience available on the Switch. I cannot stress enough- if you haven’t before- be brave and buy it. Don’t let the quickness of dying put you off. You’re in for a hell of a journey if you don’t. 😘
@Moirayn I said this ten years ago when i spent 100s Of pounds on Wii ware and vc games. They are now on my Wii U which is used exclusively for these. It is utter madness that I could not bring these games to the Switch.
@gokev13 I’m with you there- currently 50 hours into dark souls 3 and 10 hours into shantae. After that I’ve got alien isolation and hollow knight. Then dark souls switch and Spider-Man. Then tomb raider, red dead 2. That’s not e en giving the other 6o games on my switch a look in and I’m desperate to play through hyper light drifter. On top of that I got into collecting homebrew carts for the jag and they are just beautiful. Got Star Wars arcade coming before Christmas. I may have to quit my job. 🤗
@tedko we hit a snag where a few of my friends had inadvertently set up family groups with their kids back in the ds games. Wouldn’t let them join the group I was setting up and deleting old family group is nowhere near as easy as it should be.
@Dalarrun nice isn’t the adjective I’d use- I’ve seen him attack many a folk for daring to disagree with him. I know there is a language barrier but he comes across as completely unreasonable. Sorry if I offended.
@Zuljaras ignore him- he has severe problems. If any game is rated above a three year old he is literally offended as though he’d been slapped across the face with a wet kipper. He’s a sad strange person.
@Blizzia I have to agree with you. I played and beat bloodborne in the summer. Yes it was hard as nails but I’m playing dark souls 3 at the moment and that is rocky mc rockinston. I’m in those bloody catacombs and there is literal one hit death behind every corner. 😂 I love it.
@mj2k18 being hard doesn’t make it a masterpiece. When that realisation hits you of why you died and you see the glimmer of hope when the game reboots- that’s an incredibly special feeling. So is the mapping of areas in your head in order to beat the next thing and the next thing. There is no spamming of buttons that is going to save you. You have to progress as a thinker and player. You level up more than your actual character does. When you finally solve the way to defeat a foe who has tormented you- even scared you 😂 dozens of times. That feeling when you actually beat whatever it was. No other game produces that feeling. That’s why they are masterpieces. 😘
@Mamabear my favourite games series and I’m only on my second one. 😂 played Bloodborne ear;ire in the year and it utterly blew me away- more so than Breath of the Wild did. I’m now on Dark Souls 3 and it’s even harder! Do not let failure in these games put you off- it’s an integral part of the playing experience.
How does this online check in work? I don’t play games online but am getting the service due to a few of us clubbing together so it’s a couple quid for the NES games. Does going on the eshop count as going online?
@Razer although in all fairness- I don’t ever play games online and do prefer multiplayer in the same room. What you have high;ighted sounds as though it could affect all aspects of WiFi ness. Eg- kids online playing their games- me streaming movies or tv and music- wife on whatever social media. ISPs can start throttling at will is what you are getting at is it?
I have no interest in playing games online. I would have paid for the service at a price point of ps plus if the games had been there. The monthly games on there is more than worth the asking price. Bloodborne against NES games. Yes some of these are bonafice classics but as the article points out- I have all the ones I want on VC. Plus I finally have arcade Donkey Kong- why would I go back to the NES version. Someone st Nintendo needs to wake up.
@Pineapple_Mohawk I love them both but enjoyed Bastion more. I couldn’t put it down. The soundtrack is one of the greatest video game soundtracks ever and the voice over is fantastic. If I didn’t already own both on my iPad Pro, I’d buy them in a heart beat.
Still battling through Dark Souls 3 on PS4. Trying to finish Shantae and Thimbleweed Park on Switch then onto Hollow Knight. Really want into the breach and hyper light but have so many games to get through and not enough time. Oh and just got Spider-Man- God knows when I’ll find time for that.
That is a ridiculous amount of fabulous games in one month. Way too many actually- I’d forgotten about some of them. Surely we don’t need this many 🤔. If the releases were spread out wouldnt we buy more of them?
The rate at which world class games are dropping is mental. Hyper light drifter is top of the pile for me but I somehow have amassed over 65 games for my Switch. I’ve just completed master blaster zero and mighty gun volt and am trying to finish thimbleweed park (which is impossible to me without a walkthrough😂) golf story and shantae. Have hollow knight and wonder boy to begin but that drifter is taunting me. This is on top of dark souls 3!
