Re: Feature: Digital vs Physical - What Is Your Preference for Nintendo Switch?

darthstuey

I refuse to pay more than 10-15 for a digital game. I think it’s mad that people shell out 70 on a game they do not physically own. I buy stuff like Neo geo on digital as 6 quid seems an acceptable price point for games such as these. If games that cost much ore than that don’t come out on a cart then I wait for a sale or I just don’t bother.

@OorWullie I’m with you on gone home. I accidentally finished it in 45 mins. I was dumbfounded that that could happen. When the credits rolled I was just staring at the screen in disbelief. This however is completely different. It is an essential purchase for someone like yourself who has been playing games for many a year. It’s a superb experience and I can’t stress enough how much I love it. Along with Edith Finch, it’s one of my favourite games of the last few years. I picked it up for a fiver on the PS4 and due to its length I would say that full price is probably too much. It’s essentially like playing a long film. When it hits a sale I strongly recommend that you get it. 👊

Re: Review: Dark Souls: Remastered - Perfect Portable Punishment

Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 have consumed me since the summer. I now hold them in higher regard than any Zelda game I’ve ever played.
I have never experienced games that make you grow as a player like these do- and the sense of accomplishment when you beat that one...that one that’s been killing you for days- well there is nothing comparable to it in video games today. I vs t wait to be able to play this wherever I want and I’m guessing, for me, it will be the best gaming experience available on the Switch.
I cannot stress enough- if you haven’t before- be brave and buy it. Don’t let the quickness of dying put you off. You’re in for a hell of a journey if you don’t. 😘

@gokev13 I’m with you there- currently 50 hours into dark souls 3 and 10 hours into shantae. After that I’ve got alien isolation and hollow knight. Then dark souls switch and Spider-Man. Then tomb raider, red dead 2. That’s not e en giving the other 6o games on my switch a look in and I’m desperate to play through hyper light drifter. On top of that I got into collecting homebrew carts for the jag and they are just beautiful. Got Star Wars arcade coming before Christmas. I may have to quit my job. 🤗

Re: Video: Nintendo Shows The Harsh Reality Of Playing Dark Souls: Remastered In New Trailer

@mj2k18 being hard doesn’t make it a masterpiece. When that realisation hits you of why you died and you see the glimmer of hope when the game reboots- that’s an incredibly special feeling. So is the mapping of areas in your head in order to beat the next thing and the next thing. There is no spamming of buttons that is going to save you. You have to progress as a thinker and player. You level up more than your actual character does. When you finally solve the way to defeat a foe who has tormented you- even scared you 😂 dozens of times. That feeling when you actually beat whatever it was. No other game produces that feeling. That’s why they are masterpieces. 😘

Re: Soapbox: Why I'm Not Excited About Playing NES Games On The Nintendo Switch

@Razer although in all fairness- I don’t ever play games online and do prefer multiplayer in the same room. What you have high;ighted sounds as though it could affect all aspects of WiFi ness. Eg- kids online playing their games- me streaming movies or tv and music- wife on whatever social media. ISPs can start throttling at will is what you are getting at is it?

Re: Soapbox: Why I'm Not Excited About Playing NES Games On The Nintendo Switch

I have no interest in playing games online. I would have paid for the service at a price point of ps plus if the games had been there. The monthly games on there is more than worth the asking price.
Bloodborne against NES games. Yes some of these are bonafice classics but as the article points out- I have all the ones I want on VC.
Plus I finally have arcade Donkey Kong- why would I go back to the NES version.
Someone st Nintendo needs to wake up.

Re: Video: 13 Nintendo Switch Games You Should Look Out For In September

The rate at which world class games are dropping is mental.
Hyper light drifter is top of the pile for me but I somehow have amassed over 65 games for my Switch. I’ve just completed master blaster zero and mighty gun volt and am trying to finish thimbleweed park (which is impossible to me without a walkthrough😂) golf story and shantae. Have hollow knight and wonder boy to begin but that drifter is taunting me. This is on top of dark souls 3!
