@XCWarrior A activity log is something I was shocked was not on the Switch. Also the first thing one of my friends asked me when I showed them the Switch was can you check the activity log so I can see how much you played Zelda. It is such an odd feature to take out after everyone I know loved the 3ds' log and despite the wiiu's not being as great they still enjoyed that (everybody being everybody who owned those said consoles).
Without a doubt they need streaming apps. While it may seem silly to say that because every device has these apps it is just extra convenient to go from one thing to another on the same device and with how snappy the Switch's UI is this would work out great.
On top of that the fact the Switch is a portable console makes these apps more helpful because instead of at home there being a dozen devices with the capability of streaming on the go the only other option is a person's phone.
Not surprised by a drop. While I'm sure the 3ds will continue to sell fine at least to the Switch's release in Japan with how hard it is for consoles right now + the next new one coming in less than two months + the wiiu being the wiiu = the wiiu basically being more dead than before.
Probably would be more accurate if whatever counts your distance walked was more accurate. I walk a 5k trail near my house all the time and can get anywhere from 1k-3k on my eggs from that 5k trail.
Ugh the wiiu did not have a good last year. The 3ds at least had Fire Emblem and Pokemon along with many others (including Zero Time Dilemma which I loved though I doubt it will make a huge splash on this poll).
@nab1 The problem a lot of people had at the time was it wasn't a realistic looking Zelda game like the Space World teaser showed and the N64 games were. Of course many would agree now that Windwaker stills looks amazing on the GameCube and after seeing games like Twilight Princess age quite a bit in less anounts of time in the end shows the power of Windwaker's art style.
I had a odd one yesterday where in the area after the third island (vague because spoilers) there was a transition where Hau ran into the room, hit the wall, and kept running into the wall till the battle started. Nothing major but it was odd.
Has there been any confirmation if there is a separate charging port on the actual controller while in portable mode? Thinking something like how you usually charge the 3ds or wiiu. I was thinking if this thing has a 3 hour battery life it would not be as awful if there was like a USB charger or something.
@Pink_Floyd glitches will always happen no matter what so this is hardly an issue. There are tons of game breaking glitches from the nes to n64 eras. This game didnt ship to be nearly unplayable so I would put it at the same level of polish as those retro games. This game also gets the advantage of patching which no retro games could take advantage of.
I love how part of this amazing five game package ($25 so $5 per game) is a Snake ripoff. I guess they are trying for the free publicity and maybe to be on the top downloads list long enough that when the sale is over some foolish people actually buy this game. Oh well free 30 gold coins I guess?
Hardly surprising since it was a fad. That is not to say the game is bad (me and my family love it) just lots of people tried it out because it was free and popular so it makes sense that many would leave finding the game not to be in their taste. What's important right now is Niantic needs to consistently update the game to keep a dedicated user base. I like the game but I have been playing less and less since it feels for the most part I accomplished most of what I could do at this point. They need to add something major like generation two in the next couple of months to ensure this while also working on trading and battling. At the really least this showed the power of a "Nintendo" app better than Miitomo which no one was willing to play for the most part a month in.
At least they are aware of the issues the wiiu had with the vast populace. Actions speak louder than words though so I hope they bring their A game with marketing the NX especially if it has some unique gimmick.
@Acein210 If that is the case I'm confused with the need to spam that message on every article but whatever floats your boat. At the really least you are better than the elitist fans who only like generation one or the elitist fans who hate anything dealing with generation one.
@Acein210 No offense man but you come out as the kid in the daycare I work at who claims they have won everything when there is and never was a competition.
To my knowledge most, if not all, Pokemon fan games have been safe from getting c&d but I understand their fears. I don't think there has been any that have been this popular in such a short time span before (which I'm sure pokemania coming back because of Pokemon Go really helped it). Also the fact that it has online, if I remember right, for some reason makes me feel like it is more likely to get noticed. Unfortunate but in cases like this it is better safe than sorry.
Totally makes sense seeing how much sensitive content in probably in the pentagon. The last thing the United States wants is for someone to break in and find the exact location of something confidential because of a mobile game.
The people people who say he could just reskin it with original characters I hope realize that this was a remake of Metroid 2. It is not a simple reskin of some characters to bring it back out. That would be like me releasing Super Mario Bros. but the only difference is Mario wears orange. They could build something from the ground up but it is not as simple as one may think.
Well the dude managed to put the finished game on the internet where it will be alive forever so there can't be to harsh of feelings anyways. With all the free press of the game getting taken down I'm sure people went into other sites to download it. In the end this was a passion project for Metroid fans and the Metroid fans did and still can the game if they look around hard enough.
Everyone is screaming that this is going to be c&d but really I would be surprised if it came to that. The Pokemon Company seems to have been chill with these game releases for years whether it be rom hacks or new games from the ground up. As long as these guys don't do something stupid like charge money for this game that they don't own the property to they should be fine.
While I'm happy they are finally communicating they should have made this clear from the get go. So much of the complaining online would have been reduced just by releasing an offical statement like this before the update.
I have seen people who made fun of me for playing Pokemon in high school play this game. I have seen people old enough to be my grandparents play this game. Heck my parents started playing this game (My Mom got excited because she caught a "odd something"). While this game has problems I have enjoyed it so much and it has been awesome seeing everybody around me have a similar interest and goal. Except Team Valor. Screw Team Valor #teammystic4life
Remember when amiibos and the GameCube controller adapter were rare and tons of scalpers were selling them for high prices online? If you really want this you might as well wait because there is no way the Pokemon Company is going to let one of their biggest successes not leach a little more dough from people's wallets by not releasing more of these. Also just because they are listed for a high amount online does not mean that is what they are worth/ what the seller is getting .
While I support Homebrew I wish these people would stop finding exploits in games when it costs the companies (especially the indies and small companies) and we already have many, many various ways to use/access Homebrew.
If you want to get this most out of this game you need to live in the city where pokestops and gyms are plentiful. If you live in a rural area it is going to be hard to enjoy this game.
I like it so I don't know what people are complaining about :/. Honestly most of the designs in my opinion are great so far and these new abilities that all these pokemon have are showing that Game Freak is really trying this generation it seems.
EDIT- Then again I may be a little biased on this one since a fire salamander is already my favorite Pokemon so having another may have gotten me excited .
I have a lot of nostalgia for the PKMN ranger games though I'm glad they stopped making them. Really the games were mediocre with a Pokemon skin. Still no where near the worse Pokemon games which a lot of people online seem to claim. What is the worse though is the bad guy team names. Go-Rock Squad? Dim Sun? Pinchers? How long did it take to come up with those names?
When I was trying to get Zero Time Dilemma while on vacation at Las Vegas everywhere was sold out so hopefully that means the West is doing well sale numbers wise. Either that or they decided to give a low amount of stock which I wouldn't say would be good, but at least they had their expectations in check? I don't know I just hope the game does well. I would love to have more games in the style of the Zero Escape series and good sales numbers would be encouraging.
@Tsurii The 3ds one has long load times between each area, less places to go, lots of pop in (which I guess being on 3ds is expected), and a lot of minor annoyances. It also has a super simple story compared to the wiiu so if you liked the story there this one is almost nonexistent in comparison. I had a okay time playing it but it wasn't that great. When I say long load times for areas I mean every area. Like going between one part of the city to the next leads to a loading screen. It may be worth it for cheap just for the curiosity but don't expect a portable wiiu adventure.
While a squeal to Shovel Knight would be cool I don't think they should jump on that train yet. I think they should give SK some time before tackling it again to see if any new cool ideas could come from that. A co-op SK sounds cool but personally I am against it since none of my friends like playing platformers. Besides that though it doesn't seem like the community likes forced multiplayer like Triforce Heroes so overall it doesn't like it would work well (at least fan reception wise). I think this would shine best as a extra challenge mode or a different campaign in the same package of a potential SK squeal (think Portal 2).
That moment when the person on VR who is obviously having a hard time controlling their inkling and is handicapped (no gamepad for map or easy transport) does better than half of what some of my team mates usually get. Like I guess I'm just unlucky cause I always get those people who either don't do anything all game or just cover the same area and stay there when it isn't even a trouble spot.
My sadness and frustration at my team aside this look really interesting. It is hard to control but if Nintendo ever does VR out of all their ips Splatoon would probably have the most potential use outside of a Metroid Prime.
I feel so bad accepting this new content because I feel like I should be paying for this free content lol. Well I mean I could just buy Shovel Knight on yet another console. That would make up for it right?
@Rhydas Have you ever tried battling with Charizard in any competitive setting? That x4 weakness to rock kills it. Charizard needed a Mega with a doubt which was fair since the other Kanto starters got one. While I do agree that two megas for Charizard may of been overkill. I think Mewtwo having two megas makes sense because he is "special" already so when you are trying to bring in people from generation one all the way to generation six you could advertise one of the most popular characters from that era has new forms but the two forms are exclusive depending on what version you get.
I'm just hoping that they make this better than the other kids superhero TV shows that are out today like Teen Titans Go and the new Powder Puff Girls...
@TheRedCap30 They are considered pretty good by the community. If you are curious I suggest looking up a guy named Nitro Rad on YouTube who did two really good reviews on both games.
This game with my ds when I opened the Mario Red Ds for Christmas many years ago. I had so many good times playing this game. I remember World 4 and 7 being impossible to find (the times where I was stupid and didn't know how to internet).
Eh standard stuff I'm used to getting changed at this point so I don't mind. Sucks for those who wanted the dlc but really this is one of the best case scenarios we could of gotten.
