The Nintendo Selects range has proven to be a popular series of releases for the big N, in recent times being attributed to notable boosts in sales for evergreen titles. For 3DS gamers in Europe there are now five more to choose from, available for €19.99 / £15.99.
The following releases at those new prices are all live now on the eShop, while boxed copies should be available in stores.
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D
- LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins
- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros.
- Paper Mario: Sticker Star
- Nintendo Presents: New Style Boutique
Are any of you European gamers tempted to jump in on this Nintendo Selects bandwagon? Let us know in the comments.

Hopefully Wind Waker HD is added to the States' lineup of Nintendo Selects because if that happens I will rush out and buy it without a moment's hesitation! It's been nearly three years so I definitely think it is time it dropped to twenty bucks like the others.
Noa needs to get on the ball. We don't have nearly enough select titles
Meanwhile, in America...
tumbleweeds
I've already got Ocarina of Time 3D, which is brilliant. Mario and Luigi Dream Team Bros is tempting, but I've already got enough games to be playing at the moment.
@Tsurii The 3ds one has long load times between each area, less places to go, lots of pop in (which I guess being on 3ds is expected), and a lot of minor annoyances. It also has a super simple story compared to the wiiu so if you liked the story there this one is almost nonexistent in comparison.
I had a okay time playing it but it wasn't that great. When I say long load times for areas I mean every area. Like going between one part of the city to the next leads to a loading screen. It may be worth it for cheap just for the curiosity but don't expect a portable wiiu adventure.
Mario & Luigi Dream Team Bros is tempting but I got way too many games to beat though. Probably get it later in the year.
Paper Mario is a great title I sold mine ages ago but would love to play it again and maybe I will at that price !
Nintendo should start having more sales like Steam and actually get discounts worth looking forward too.
Seriously? No Hyrule Warriors? That game and all its add-on content costs a total of $122.91, including the Link amiibo to unlock the Spinner. Knocking $40 off that price won't make it reasonable, but will make it at least a little more tolerable.
@Tsurii Pretty sure @allav866 is referring to Hyrule Warriors Wii U + Link amiibo + Hero of Hyrule pack + the 4 costume packs (Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword, Ganon) + Legends of Hyrule pack.
Sigh... I would totally get Dream Team if it was a Select in America!!!
@Tsurii It's pretty much as @Grumblevolcano says, though I was also counting the Season 2 Pass (Wii U only). Compared to the 3DS version--which, including the DLC bundle, costs $55 altogether--the Wii U version looks like a high-definition scam.
If these are on the Australian store too (which they might not be as we had to wait until a month ago to get these deals) then good.
@Lunarsickness lmao
already picked up Zelda. Really want to play that game again.
@Tsurii I can't wait to get back to Lego City Undercover, I've barely scratched the surface of it but I got distracted!
Lucky me! I was contemplating buying Oot 3D to quench my Zelda crave (along with Wind Waker HD, too) till Breath of the Wild.
@allav866 The 2nd Wii U season pass is the Legends of Hyrule pack, what I did miss on my list was the Legends Character pack though.
I got Paper Mario Sticker Star, not enough games in the Selects range though.
@Tsurii The biggest drawbacks with the 3DS prequel are that it's a bit sluggish, in terms of button response and movement, and the different areas aren't seamless - going from one area to another requires a loading screen.
NOE is kicking NOA's behind. Already have Zelda OoT, but I would be interested in Lego Undercover..
I got dream team with this
@MGray yep, it's quite sad. Hopefully they'll fix it at some point.
As a fan of what east of the Atlantic is known as New Style Boutique, I am glad to see it included in this range. It means the series is trending up and finding an audience. Sometimes great games just need some time, and I'm glad Nintendo believed in the series enough to give it to it.
What I wouldn't give for North America to get Lego City Undercover on Wii U as a Selects title like Europe. Boxed copies for NA are at best about $30 used, which is insane.
Was hoping these would show up in the Australian eShop today, as they usually share the same content as the European eShop, but nothing:(
I would recommend Sticker Star - for what it is, it is a really nice and funny game. There are also some really nice levels. Just have an open mind and do not compare it to RPG Paper Mario games.
Considering Dream Team because of this. Should I?
@Tsurii The 3ds version is far inferior, but still a good game. The open world is far more restricting and the load times are long and frequent. However, I really enjoyed it when I played it.
@Piersen Go for it, it's a great little RPG at that price, though my biggest gripes were the game's aggressive tutorialisation (seriously, you keep getting tutorials, even 10+ hours in to the game; and they're unskippable too); and the over-reliance on things like the internal gyroscope for the minigames used to trigger special attacks.
They weren't enough to detract from how much fun I had with the game for myself, but your mileage may vary.
Ocarina of Time 3D?! You mean the game that kept going up in price because I didn't own a 3DS when it was released?! Count me in!! :')
@Pierson Dream Team is also aseome! Really liked the dream leavels, the humor and artstyle!
The eShop already sees regular sales of old and bad titles. Nintendo is intent on continuing that trend.
I've never played a paper mario game and for 15.99 + 20% off with mynintendo I thought that was a good deal
I'm still at the Water Temple on my N64 cart...
If I buy OoT for 3DS there's a much better chance I'll finish it at last.
It sure is hilarious that Nintendo considers Sticker Star to be worth that price tag!
Please everyone, do not repeat the same mistake that I made back in December 2012.
This game (and the recently released Mario & Luigi Paper Jam for that matter) felt like a long, tedious, and boring chore instead of a fun game.
It is completely devoid of an excellent storyline, unique and memorable characters, and good gameplay.
There are many great indie titles on the eShop that are cheaper, have more content and replay value, and are infinitely more enjoyable than Sticker Star.
Do yourself a favor and get some indie titles.
If you absolutely want a Nintendo game, then just get Dream Team because it is currently the very last of the good Mario RPGs that were made.
I picked up OoT 3D and finding it might more engaging that MM 3D but can't quite put my finger on why.
Nintendo has definitely given out more love to EU & UK with these, as there are more than double the selects out there vs the US & CAN
Thank goodness OoT is getting a elect reprint. Copies were becoming very difficult to find. I have mine, but the point remains.
