I feel bad for not buying it since it looked awesome but yeah the no online hurt it for me. I might still get it even if it is not on sale but I'm not surprised with the low sales. I wish the best for the developer.
Oh the memories. I was kinda afraid to go back to the old videos because I was worried that it will be one of those things where it was made early video on the internet and by today's standards would look cringy so it being remade is awesome. (And this is well done animation). My major hope is he makes that minus world episode not as long. Also hopefully it actually ends this time .
@BlueNitrous Whoever runs the Sonic social media sites is hilarious. They post anything from making fun of their product (Sonic games) to embracing memes. On twitter the Sonic page sometimes mentions game grumps when they are playing a Sonic game. Basically they know he hates it and they are okay with it since they are really flexible.
Generation five was my favorite generation game wise. I absolutely loved bw, b2w2, and conquest. Many of my favorite Pokemon designs also came here. Yes people like to harp on this generation for garabador and vaniluxe but those were few out of great designs like leavanny, hydreigon, bisharp, haxorus, etc. Anime though... I don't like to talk about that... Cough Cilan and his freaking food puns Cough.
Wiiu wise I'm happy this year with Splatoon and Super Mario Maker being highlights. 3ds wise was more meh. Don't get me wrong there were good games released this year on 3ds just none that made me yell out "Yes this is why I own this system!". Thankfully the 3ds has had enough support in the past where one meh year is not bad and 2016 starting out with all those rpgs (like Fire Emblem Fates) makes me sure the 3ds still has tons of life in it.
If this comes to the US I might just buy it since about every year me and my friend 100% SMB3 and we found the gba port is the most convenient. If they added the e-reader levels that would be a huge plus since I never got to play them since I never had a e-reader.
An Amiibo would be cool figuring they use it well. O don't want Minecraft to appear in any official Nintendo games yet. I don't if it would fit in with MK8 or Smash.
Nothing against them (as they do make good games) I just can't get into any Renegade Kid game. From the combination of demos, playing my friend's games, and that humble bundle I have never been to impressed with them and as a result never bought from them. They seem like nice people and like 90% of the internet loves them which is great that they managed to find an audience I just guess they are not for me.
Generation Four is a mixed bag for me. Main series wise the physical and special split was amazing. On the other hand though it had in my opinion the worst region (which doesn't mean it was bad but compared to the rest it was not as good) and as a whole the Sinnoh games felt slow and not really well paced. It was the first time we had wifi in the series but at the same time like a lot of Nintendo games at the time it was not that great and felt clunky. Heartgold and SoulSilver were excellent remakes though and easily the highlight of generation four. With the anime though it seemed to have a lot of filler (which the pkmn anime as a whole has a lot of I just remember the Gen. 4 anime having a lot) I liked it for the most part. My favorite parts of it was Chimchar (and future evolutions) with/against Paul and the character development of that. Spin offs were mixed. Basically all the ones on the wii were meh at best but the ds fared better. The Ranger series was fun but my favorite spinoff till Conquest were the PKMN mystery dungeon games. That game had so many memorable moments.
@Technosphile I'm not at all defending Might Number Nine I'm just saying it is not kind to judge all of kickstarter based off this game's shortcomings and the site's past failures. I only mentioned Shovel Knight since it is the popular example and I just wanted to make a quick comment. All the games Captain_Toad said are good examples. I also agree with what he says where you don't have to like it and really it is a risk to do kickstarter or any other funding projects. I don't think it is okay for developers to screw over backers but that is part of the risk. I also think like you said a free demo for everybody is nice and should be done but I don't think it should be required. These funding sites give games that did not have a chance a chance to be made which is awesome. Personally I have not ever donated to any of these but I can admire when it does go well and something extordinary can be made. Like for example there is a game that is almost funded called Indivisable that is made by the people who created Skull Girls (past recent success), a free demo for everybody, and these people actually know how to make a budget. Is it fair for a game that looks to be so great and be so much fun to not ever be made when people are more than willing to help fund it? These funding sites can take something that is a financial risk for a company to make and turn it into a dream project being realized.
@Technosphile That is not really fair to judge all of kickstarter off the failures. Sure there are a lot of broken promises, projects failing, etc but at the same time projects like Shovel Knight get funded and show how kickstarter can work.
@Captain_Gonru While I can see Golden Sun on mobile (the way you described sounds about what would be expected) I doubt Nintendo would bring a obsucure rpg series to the massive casual audience of mobile. I'm expecting more of the miitomo like games. Games featuring simple Nintendo icons that anybody can recognize like the miis, Mario, wii fit, Dr.Mario, and Kirby.
My question- Is it closer to gates to infinity or is it closer to darkness and time since that is a huge determint factor for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon fans since all the games score around this.
This update might convince me to get the game figuring it works fine (which the devs seem to be passionate about at least which does bring my hopes for it).
@Kirk In my opinion Limbo is a slightly below mediocre game. My first complaint would be length and even though I got this game on sale I felt kinda ripped off by it. Like you said replayability is important and so for short games like Mega Man 2 and Super Mario World that is not an issue. The problem is that I don't feel compelled to play Limbo again. The gameplay for me was frustrating with it seeming like the only way to move forward was go die and correct your mistake. Over and over again. For some people this is totally fine but I got annoyed by it. I could argue my side more most likley but after beating the game awhile ago I have honestly forgotten some of my annoyances (One of them was some type of control issue on PC but yeah I can't remember at this moment). I will say though the art style is really good and there was enjoyment to be had just for me the frustration overshadowed it. I personally just didn't like it but I'm totally fine with others thinking it was good or great. We all have opinions.
@Grumblevolcano To be fair it is not the typical game a casual Gamer would expect Nintendo to make. Though I do agree that they should advertise it I don't think showing it at a mall event where families go to try the demos out is going to sell much more copies. (Basically families who go to these things are not the target market for a game like Xenoblade).
@dkxcalibur I live near Portland and have gone to some. For me where I just happen to be in the mall and just stop by it is cool but I wouldn't make a effort to go there just for it. Like the article says it is just playable demos of Nintendo games which you can already get (and if you really want to play these demos usually a GameStop would have them). I will say though if you have kids or younger siblings who like Nintendo it can be entertaining to see them play these since it is usually their first time playing. I just wouldn't go for the sole purpose of going there.
What ever happened to that voting contest that decided who got in? II don't own this game but I would buy a Mabel figure (who I believe was the winner) in a heartbeat.
I love generation 3 but that probably because of a lot of nostalgia (first Pokemon games with Firered and Emerald). Still the additions (like abilities) are so important that saying these games ruined Pokemon is silly. Critically I would say they are not the best at all (Hoenn did have to much water. I'm sorry but it is true) and not being able to transfer past Pokemon sucks. I still find more enjoyment though through Hoenn than Sinnoh and Kanto though.
@Kirk If I used the glitch to make the level hard or for a player who does not know not be able to beat it yes I would be a jerk but I didn't do that. I basically created a horror themed level for Halloween and when a person went through the pipe they came out on the other side right above spikes. The invisable blocks stopped them right before they hit the spikes. They were impossible to avoid (as in impossbile not to land on the invisable blcoks) and I actually got some nice comments from people saying it was a clever way to use the glitch that did not at all hurt the player for not knowing. After the spikes ended, it transitioned naturally to the next part of the level. It was impossible for a player to die or get stuck and the whole section lasted for three seconds so I would not consider that a jerk move. Obviously when the update came out if a person played the level they now could not beat it so I deleted the level from the servers and reuploaded it with that area fixed. I am happy they fixed the glitch since more than likley more harm than good came from it. It was more sad to see my levels not be playable but I already fixed them and reuploaded.
They removed the invisable block glitch. Makes sense why but I felt sad deleting the two courses I uploaded with it. I don't want to be a jerk and have impossible levels online. (Note- my invisable blocks were basically going through a pipe and landing on some right above spikes.)
Japan really likes those God Eater games it looks like. I also find it interesting that it sold so well on vita. (I know handhelds are more loved there but it sold a lot more than the ps4 versions).
I'm really curious about this 95% market share is. The games are still going well and the last I checked the anime was still popular enough. Either way best of luck to it. I don't know if it could beat Pokemon but who knows. Just remember Pokemon has beaten Digimon, Yugi-oh, Bayblades, Bakugon, etc. I played the demo and was not super impressed but if it good enough reviews I'll check the full game.
Sigh really people are mad about this? It is a little secret NOA decided to add it is no big deal. (It is out if the way. It is not like a person in the story says it). Also, it is a silly game so why you honestly get mad they made a simple joke? Finally, when I see this I think the translation team had fun with this which is awesome. It gives games like Splatoon its own uniqueness.
Things like this make me wonder how much of videogame history is hidden. Either way like all games that are found I hope they release a rom of it online for free so others can try it out and go through the files.
I'm curious how Gravity Falls is. I have not seen any reviews and I'm really cautious with lincence games. I will most likley try out Fatal Frame but at my college you have to buy rights to the WiFi for home consoles (not portables strangley but I'm guessing the WiFi sees those as phones) which I refuse to do so I'll have to wait till I get back home.
It looks cool but besides it being faster (most likely) to create something I don't see what makes this stand out to something like Minecraft creative mode.
Is it even possible to beat this? It is perfection and only best the previous by milliseconds. I don't like saying something impossible but eventually there has to be a wall seeing how this game is just programming.
The three packs with exclusives annoy me so hopefully Nintendo is splitting them up. Specifically with the retro three pack I only want Duck Hunt and Rob right now but my only option is buying them with game and watch.
