Ahhh, more of the good ol' "We need game X to sell before developing/porting game Y". To be honest though, I don't know how popular Dragon Ball games are on Nintendo systems but if they're willing to port it to the Xbox, they sure can do it for the Switch.
Nice try Capcom, the whole "we need game X to sell so we have enough money to port/develop game Y" trick doesn't work anymore (has it ever worked?). Selling a 20 something year old game with graphics that are a decade old plus a tacked on motion control minigame for £35 is ludicrous. If you don't want to put the effort in, the consumers will reward you with poor sales.
Besides, other developers can simply fill the hole that you leave, should you decide on not developing any more games for Switch (or any other platform for that matter).
Even as a PC gamer, I couldn't care less about EA games. However, would like to point out that FIFA 18 coming to the switch is a promising sign that EA will at least port some of their games to Switch. Wii U only got 1 FIFA game AFAIK.
Some of the picks on this list are very likely but others are downright bizarre. I agree with Smash 4 (including Smash Run, Smash Tour and all the DLC as a full priced Deluxe Edition), Bayonetta 1 and 2, Super Mario Maker (loads of uploaded levels to play). Games such as Pokken Tournament that sold decently but kind of stand on their own would also make good choices for Switch ports.
But the rest really do perplex me. There's already a Xenoblade, Pikmin and Mario game on the way. Fire Emblem Warriors will be a replacement for Hyrule Warriors on Switch. Star Fox Zero crashed and burned, and would require a lot of work to make the game control well and have enough content. And Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze might be a good platformer, but just gets a "Meh" from me. Maybe if they released a bundle with DKC Returns, then it would be worth retail price.
I am thinking of this from a physical retail perspective. Technically, Nintendo could port their entire Wii U library to Switch and give the majority of them a second chance, but a lot of these would probably end up as overpriced downloads, rather than more attractive definitive editions including DLC and extra content that would make newcomers and double dippers alike spend their money. Then again, this is Nintendo and they'll likely take the least sensible route when porting their back catalogue over.
After all this waiting and rumour mongering, the Nintendo Switch is very much a mixed bag. While the lack of region locking, upcoming games, potential for 3rd party support and ability to play local multiplayer is certainly welcome, 32gb initial storage, paid subscription service, high initial price and extortionate peripherals will make this a wait and see for me.
And for those that defend the paid online subscription services, or say that Microsoft and Sony have them as well, I don't like them on those platforms either. They offer no value as they still result in inconsistent services (especially on Sony platforms). What makes you think Nintendo will be any better? PC is the only platform that will not have paid online and will most likely have the best online services overall!
Hopefully they announce more launch games later on today and iron out some of these issues sooner rather than later, but I'll not hold my breath. In all honesty, I think the console hardware of this generation have all been pretty mediocre, and if the game droughts start on Switch just as with the Wii U, I'll just be gaming on PC from now on. I really want to like the Switch but I'm not convinced at the moment.
This is PR speak for "We'll support the 3DS until the Switch is profitable/flying off the shelves. Then we'll have a swansong year before discontinuing the 3DS". I don't believe this statement for a second, judging by Nintendo's prior behaviour.
Having said that, the Switch is what i hoped it would be. No region locking and good battery life and the deal will be sealed for me.
I will always appreciate Nintendo for what they have done for the game industry, as well as the impact their games and consoles have had on my life. As more devices and platforms for playing games become available, one has to think what suits their needs and what they want out of their gaming experience.
Due to Nintendo being out of touch with a lot of their consumers, as well as being backwards in many things (account system, game prices and sales, compatibility between 3DS and Wii U, etc. etc.), Nintendo has to work extra hard to ensure that they keep their customers loyal and attempt to attract new ones. However, they do not seem to try with many of their games, and prefer to play it too safe, or take games in directions that are unpopular. Only a few stand out and are worthy of purchasing their hardware solely for playing a small number of games.
I'm not finding that I'm playing Nintendo games less and less and playing more 3rd party games on Nintendo devices (mainly 3DS). This is a problem for Nintendo, and they need to rectify this. Why should I care about Nintendo hardware when their games are similar to previous entries, mediocre or when other developers can make better games on other platforms? Same with Sony and Microsoft. The latter now has no real exclusives coming out for Xbox one, and the games that would normally appear on Sony platforms (except 1st party exclusives) are now appearing on PC.
I keep saying this but perhaps a few emails to Nintendo would probably be more appropriate at this point. Nintendo is fighting an uphill battle, with much of the odds stacked against them. Despite this, they seem to be quite happy making a profit here and there while their user base decreases slowly over the years. They can sit on their laurels for now, but they need to take action soon. They need to TRY HARDER and get people excited about Nintendo products again! The NX needs to be revealed soon!
Weird that the GBA SP didn't have a headphone jack. Pretty much every handheld has had that.
As for Apple, as @SLIGEACH_EIRE stated, this is just money grabbing at it's finest. Encouraging you to buy more things you don't need at the expense of functionality and ease of use. Just about every device made in the last 10-15 years has this jack, and the audio quality is fine. I really hope this doesn't catch on with Android manufacturers or future iPhones. Be careful before you put your money down on the iPhone 7 people.
@Caryslan I agree with you. I feel that this game would have done so much better if it was on Wii U. Having proper controls, clearer graphics and splitscreen multiplayer would have done the concept of a multiplayer metroid justice. If it was paired with a Prime single player campaign, I bet it would have been very well received by everyone.
As it stands, I don't think the idea of Federation Force is bad, or that it is a truly bad game. The problem is, it looks like a filler game, and people and reviewers to an extend have recognised it as such. Nintendo recently has been putting out these filler games on 3DS and Wii U recently, and that's why it has sold poorly.
I think that some of the decline is expected, especially as kids will be heading back to school and students back to college/uni.
However, like I said in another article, they NEED to fix the difficulty catching basic pokemon as well as the tracker. Lots of people like hunting for specific pokemon. I'm still enjoying it but i'm becoming bored of ~100cp pokemon breaking out of multiple pokeballs.
Still enjoy playing it at the moment. However, the pokemon being harder to catch and the tracker NEED to be fixed. A 59cp spearow escaped out of a pokeball for me recently after a great throw.
I've read most of the comments on this thread, and I'm largely against Nintendo whenever they do stuff like this. They once again took the sledgehammer approach, rather than assessing the game's merits and possibly coming to some arrangement with the creator before deciding to shut the project down. This project isn't the trash that is clearly trying to make a quick buck and flee before the cavalry arrives that you see happening on mobile platforms.
I've also seen a lot of comparisons to Sony about pricing of old games, as though Nintendo is ok charging £3-10 for 15+ year old games for their past systems when Sony has similar pricing. No one here looks at the PC platform, where you can much more modern games for less than £5 on various websites and the existence of bundle sites like Humble Bundle. Sony's high pricing doesn't justify Nintendo's high pricing. They're both pretty bad for the most part, the difference is is that Sony has far more regular sales on their own published games, whereas Nintendo doesn't. Both pale in comparison to a PC gamer savvy with their money.
The point i'm trying to make is that Nintendo NEEDS positive PR at the moment, they're about to get another chance at correcting themselves with the NX. Things like this and ESPECIALLY the shutting down of the Nintendo Power archive, doesn't do anything to help them win over any new customers.
A lot of commentors wonder why some people very critical of Nintendo frequent a site like this. Some of us, including myself, clearly care for Nintendo and want them to output the best games they can so we can continue indulging in our hobby. They're not doing that at the moment, outside of a number of games that wouldn't be more than the numbers of fingers and toes you have.
If we don't like Nintendo? We'll go elsewhere. Indie developers can fill the gaps in genres and types of games that Nintendo refuses to make. Nintendo needs us way more than we need them at the moment.
If you're a collector, you can play pokemon with your friends in the park! If you don't have the game however, you can buy it from the eShop for the low price of £39.99!
A nice idea for marketing towards younger kids, but again, a complete missed opportunity to get us to part with our cash. Where's the discounts at, Nintendo?
The developers of the game should still be disappointed with the localisation effort. I'm sure that most of the fans who bought the game bought it DESPITE the censorship and no English language dub, and would rather have future games like this censored than no game at all (and due to region locking, no bypassing the censorship without a Japanese console.)
I guarantee you that if the game was the same as the Japanese version, a lot more fans would have bought it in the West (including myself) and would made this game sell better. Thank goodness there's a patch for this, because it's the main reason i'll be getting the game now.
@tudsworth Even if SEGA Europe are lazy, at least they're not so lazy and stupid as to not localise the games at all in Europe. As long as someone is bringing the Atlus games to Europe, I don't mind.
" Games are becoming more of a consumable product, and it's getting harder and harder for people to let a game to sink in and enjoy leisurely."
While I agree to this somewhat, nothing in Starfox Zero (as well as a lot of Nintendo's recent output) says I should go out and play it. Why should I draw out my experiences on mediocre Nintendo games for as long as possible when I can cherry pick the best from a variety of systems? If I want to spend more time on it, I want to feel like I should spend more time on it. A game that can be 100% beat in an afternoon for £30+ is not worth it anymore compared to what 3rd parties and indies provide.
Besides, if you want us to try it, why not provide a demo, like just about every other reputable AAA publisher does? Would it kill you to provide the first level for free, so we can decide if the game is worth it or not?
Might seem like a strange idea, but perhaps Nintendo could contract developers to produce mobile games like this in China under the Nintendo banner. This actually looks like something Nintendo might put out. I know a lot of them are trash but it could give them more awareness in the Chinese and global markets.
Still, it's fully understandable why Nintendo would take this down. Charging microtransactions using someone else's intellectual property is definitely illegal.
I know this is a ridiculous thing to say, but i might actually buy this game now because of this. Well done ladies and gentlemen for providing this patch!
@VanillaLake I agree for the Virtual Console titles, but better than the absolute bargain of being reduced from £49.99 to £39.99 like they've done in the past for some of their retail games. Totally greatly reduced prices!
Got some leftover money on the eShop so will pick up Earthbound.
While I have bought games from the eShop on both Wii U and 3DS, they are both lackluster storefronts compared to even other console platforms, never mind PC. I won't regurgitate other's sentiments here, but I will say that both eShops, with the exception of promotions like Humble Bundle and the embracing of indie developers and a few steep sales from some 3rd parties, still behave like it's 2006-2008, like we've haven't seen a digital storefront before.
At least the eShop doesn't break trying to access every third store page, unlike PSN on the Vita. That is one thing going for Nintendo.
I agree with those who think that Nintendo are to blame for their lax system security. I believe that people should be able to mod their systems if they desire. This is getting a bit ridiculous, and I think it's high time Nintendo either properly updated the security of their 3DS system, or hurry up and release a new handheld system (NX?). Nintendo using the sledgehammer approach continuously is going to put developers off putting their games on Nintendo's eShop in the future.
And make it REGION FREE! Half of these homebrew hackers are doing this to bypass region lock!
Looks like the scalpers have found a new business venture after Amiibo and Special Editions. A complete waste of money.
I understand the idea behind a collection of games, but they are meant to be played. This will turn people to digital copies and emulators if enough people get on board and inflate the price of old games.
I'd like to throw my two cents in here. Although I haven't played it, one of the biggest things that turned me off about Star Fox Zero was not the controls but the rehashing of the story from the N64 game. Which was a rehash of the story from the SNES game. I don't honestly understand why many Nintendo games feel the need to rehash the story continuously. It makes the structure and narrative of the game very similar and familiar. Possibly too familiar. Why couldn't they do an origins story (like a prequel) with 4 smaller campaigns for each character that lead to the events of the N64 game? It could at least had a bit more variety than Star Fox 64 in HD with motion controls.
And for all those who wonder why there are lots of people who don't like this game or disagree a lot with Nintendo, that's because we want Nintendo to succeed, possibly even more than other console manufacturers and the mobile market. However, the quality of their games and their status as a result has dropped greatly since the 90's and the 00's. We suggest things that can improve on this and we are routinely ignored in favour of an audience that doesn't exist. And this is evident in the amount of trade ins of Star Fox Zero, a very short game with with a co-op mode being sold for near full retail price. For many, it's not good value selling on motion controls and nostalgia alone.
I've been playing Nintendo games since a very young age, and even liked many of the games they were putting out during the Wii era. However, other companies have moved forward, whereas Nintendo hasn't. Nintendo still have a whole slew of problems that they could easily iron out, but won't. And many of us are fed up with it and wondering why we should spend our money with Nintendo.
It's nice that Sega acknowledge that they don't release enough Atlus games in Europe. But "always trying to find a way" isn't good enough. I want results, and the market does exist in Europe for niche JRPGs and other such titles. You can start by giving a release date within the same month as North America, and making sure 7th Dragon III code: VFD does come to Europe.
I'm hoping this is an isolated case because this is pretty much what I feared. SEGA is going to do absolutely nothing more than Atlus localising games for the European market.
Hopefully this will become a recurring thing for Nintendo. Old games that site at RRP on the eShop for several years could do with a bundle like this. Developers won't get the short stick and can sell games in their back catalogue. They don't need to put games that are a month or two old in a bundle.
While I did read that it was changed due to player feedback, it was done because players felt disparity between their choice and how the characters reacted, not that the choice was bad. It still doesn't excuse the costume changes. Do you not save the game before making an important choice? I will say that it may have been removed down to poor design, rather than censorship. Still, story content was removed because NINTENDO essentially didn't want us to feel bad about our choices.
Hooray! Another game I can cross off my "don't buy" list!
I love how all the people are defending this, saying that this type of censorship is nothing to cry about. For this most part, it is. However, what concerns many people about simple costume changes is what is the next unacceptable thing that needs. Well, for Nintendo, it's already taking the next steps, with DLC and sections of the main game being unavailable for western audiences and dialogue choices being removed (Bravely Second), all because we supposedly can't handle anything sexual, rather than just keep the age rating the game gets. Besides, Fire Emblem Awakening had Hot Springs DLC and still had a T/12+ rating!
And anyone who makes the excuse that Atlus is the one doing it, you just need to look at any game published by them without Nintendo's involvement. How much of it was censored or changed? Probably nowhere near as much as with Nintendo's involvement. The fact that Nintendo is hiding behind "Atlus was responsible for localisation" just highlights their cowardice and their puritanism. I haven't bought any game from Nintendo apart from the older Fire Emblem games that were on sale very recently. Before that, it's been months. Get your act together Nintendo, really getting sick of Nintendo deciding what I can and cannot handle.
As long as Sega or some other publishing company steps up to fill the in the gap and bring Atlus games to Europe, I don't really mind. If we get less games, then I won't be happy.
So show you mean business and give Europeans a release date for SMT IV Apocalypse.
@JaxonH I would like to have a shot at your levels, maybe I could pick up some tips. I've got 2 stars and uploaded 8 levels (although many of them were uploaded in the last 2 days).
And yeah, I agree with you, so many levels with a million Star powerups and enough enemies to make the game lag, as well as levels that have a straight path with nothing to the flagpole. Too many auto levels too (although some are pretty good).
I really hope none of my levels get taken down. I've been tinkering in Super Mario Maker, and I've only gotten 2 stars so far. The first reason really kinda concerns me. What's the point of uploading levels if they just get taken down? How do you advertise your levels without resorting to contacting streamers and youtubers to play your levels?
I understand that a limited edition means that only a finite amount of copies exist and that it gets people to pre-order and put their money down. However, it perplexes me that they don't keep making limited edition copies until the demand dries out. People here are missing putting down their order less than 15 minutes before they went up for sale.
Why must someone dedicate themselves to finding out exactly when the limited edition is for sale and refresh their browser repeatedly or hang around GAME all day just to get the game? More limited edition copies = less scalpers and more happy customers that want the limited edition. They should keep making them until the demand dries up. If that means the game continues to sell weeks and weeks after, and the limited edition becomes slightly less "limited" then so be it.
I thought Nintendo had learned a lesson with Amiibo, but apparently not.
Originally, I actually thought this article was the obligatory April Fools joke. Apparently not. :/
Pardon my cynicism but this kinda reminds me of when EA acquires a company, it initially gives the company a boost where before they may have been struggling, and then begins to consume their identity after a few good games. Why not have the Atlus brand on their JRPGs? Atlus clearly is a respected developer and publisher for many gamers out there.
At the end of the day, we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully this encourages localisation of more Atlus titles in Europe using the Sega branding than less.
I really hope that isn't the final design. Can't say anything about comfort but no buttons and a d-pad are a no-no. If this is the design, hopefully they implement those control methods and make the controller/device similar to the Vita.
Don't understand why companies want to waste time doing this, honestly hope this falls through just like the stupid trademark Sony tried to get passed.
@JaxonH You are correct when it comes to playing NX games. Hopefully it extends to Virtual Console games sold on the Wii U and 3DS. Besides, I really hope some of these NX rumours are true, because the one that compares it's level of power to that of the Xbox One would make it a killer handheld system.
It honestly doesn't surprise me at this point. When it comes to download games, Nintendo seems to have absolutely no intention of competitively pricing ANYTHING that exists on their digital storefront. Then they increase the prices of games on n3DS even further because that makes total sense and is friendly to the loyal customers who bought the games previously or don't have the Wii U.
The pricing is NOT justified because of ratings, or scaring off 3rd parties, or any other lame excuse for them not to drop the price. Sony isn't perfect, but I got Klonoa on PS1 for less than £2. On a sale. Many of Sony's first party franchises sell extremely cheaply as well. If old games need the money that badly, then why do PS1 games have digital sales? And all of the console manufacturers are outdone by Steam, which allows me to continue my game on any PC, Mac or Linux device I like, so long as I authorise it beforehand, as well as have extremely steep discounts.
I'd like to think Nintendo will get their act together for the NX platform, but at this point, I know they won't. Their digital store front will still suck horribly, because they feel they are not in competition with anyone else, and that they can do as they please. They ARE in competition, and they NEED to do something about it. They can start by pleasing their current consumer base by not ripping them off with overpriced ROMs Please prove me wrong for NX Nintendo.
It seems Nintendo of America is suffering a censorship epidemic with all of its niche games recently, with most of this spreading to Nintendo of Europe. Removing entire features and censorship of M or 16+/18+ games because you are too afraid of kids playing it is just mind numbingly stupid, and shows just how cowardly and out of touch with your audience you really are.
Even if Fates gets a 12+/T rating, I imagine that less than 5% that will buy the game day 1 will actually be under that age. Most of the Fire Emblem audience are older, having played previous games in the series. Most kids will be playing with tablets, xbox or playstation consoles and any game thats largely popular with their friends. Fire Emblem Fates isn't going to be one of those games. Most of the fanbase therefore, should handle features and scenes like this without much incident.
I'd like to stress that SJWs don't buy video games most of the time. Therefore, what they say about video games is IRRELEVANT. Which backlash do you want? The one from people who don't buy your game, or the ones that do? SJWs are never truly responsible for censorship in any media. The ones who should be held accountable are the developers, publishers or localisation teams that decide that they want to attempt to cater to an audience that doesn't want their games, or think that people can't handle uncomfortable scenarios in video games even such scenes are easily found in films, comics, books, etc.
That's fine by me Nintendo, keep censoring your games. I'll just move to other developers and publishers that don't censor their own games (even if they exist on Nintendo consoles). I'll make sure not to touch any of your games or your consoles again.
In short, i'm not buying Fates even though I really enjoyed Awakening, because Nintendo likes to treat their audience of all ages like blithering idiots. I'm tired of this nonsense.
If this gets good reviews and plays anything like SMT or Persona or Fire emblem or a mix of all three, then i'm in. I have faith in this game and in Atlus, despite the theme being musicidol related (not normally my thing).
Definitive version or not, why bother releasing it without 2-player co-op or inventory management? For the Wii U audience, it's just the diehard Nintendo fans and those who want to double dip for more convenient features. Why bother releasing the game on Wii U at all if you aren't going to use the console hardware to the fullest?
No wonder there's such a disconnect between Nintendo and third parties. Try harder with your ports! If your game doesn't sell, don't bring any more games to Nintendo platforms, rather than trying to sell an inferior product compared to other consoles.
@sean_aaron Do you want to put your faith in an industry that loves to release things in an unfinished state, or lacking in features at launch? I don't. I want the full experience from the get go. Yes, they could add these features later, but it detracts from buying it on Wii U day one. You could easily buy the PC version or console versions for cheaper and get the same experience. This will dent their sales at launch. This makes it LESS likely for them to implement the extra features later, and even if the game does sell well, they might not bother anyway.
At the end of the day, I would be getting the PC version, but if the Wii U had these features from the beginning, it would make it a much better console port for the money. Rather than the cash grab that it appears to be.
A nice gesture from Nintendo, for those who paid for the Special Edition. Instead of the whole OST on CDs, a DRM filled USB stick that you can't play on anything but a Windows PC and is a pain to rip, plus it hasn't got the whole soundtrack. Hope the art work is good.
Thought music DRM was a thing of the mid 00's. The sooner these idiot companies move away from DRM the better.
@retro_player_22 Pachinko machines make easier money than video games do. And most AAA developers would follow suit if given the chance and declining sales of software. SNK did recently announce that they are focusing more on games though.
@shani Sony puts out sales for all it's platforms, yet it needs profits from the PS Vita really badly because it's tanking too. Why not go the way of the Wii U and only put a few games on sale? Because it gets people talking and it gets it to the front of the store page!
Yes what I'm saying is I want 30 games on sale, people who are holding off on buying certain games will drop the money on it when it gets to a certain price point. It doesn't always have to be £2.50, but it can be £10, £15 or even £20. It also doesn't have to be recent games (although you're wrong about games that are recent releases not having price drops, GTA V has been out for 7 months on PC and is 40% off, lower than Super Mario 3D world which is 2 years old. Even Fallout 4 is cheaper now and that was just released.) They have a backlog of games that they could put on sale over the past few years between the 3DS and the Wii U. You're also incorrect on cheap games being cheap crap. That would mean just about every developer in the world makes cheap crap because they get put on sale, or drop in price. It would make GOG the biggest garbage bin of games too, and it's definitely not. Besides, you need to check this out. NoA have gotten the right idea, although again, some of their retail games are too expensive.
You're right, the discounts aren't noticed by those who don't play on Nintendo platforms. If Nintendo had more games on sale and Nintendo players bought games they wouldn't normally try, they would recommend them to their friends who don't own the platform, thus making it more lucrative for potential buyers that look at Nintendo as Mario/Zelda/Pokemon. That is the awareness that I'm talking about. Word of mouth. Nintendo shouldn't be accepting being niche, it should be trying it's hardest to sell it's platform even when it's failing.
Touche on Shantae, that was a bad example, Wayforward is quite a well known studio. But Shantae and the Pirates Curse is 50% off on Steam right now and the NoA eShop. Wayforward still want more people buying their game, even when it's good. Quality =/= sales. Refer to some of Nintendo's games that have been good quality like Bayonetta 2, Codename Steam, the Wonderful 101 (btw, cheaper physical than the digital storefront), and many other games that haven't reached a wider audience. Most of them failed because they were marketed poorly and haven't dropped in price. Sales give poor selling games a second wind and a good chance to sell better even after the sale ends.
I'm not going to leave anymore comments about this because at the end of the day, Nintendo needs to stop being arrogant and think their games have to be sold as close to RRP as possible. They are the ONLY ones that do this. Games always devalue over time, that's why they don't sell their Virtual Console games for their original RRP. They're in a pretty dire situation right now despite a lot of cash reserves, and they need to be creating good customer faith for NX, mobile and any other developments, not gouging people for as much money as possible.

Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Could Come To Switch If The Demand Is There, Says Producer
Ahhh, more of the good ol' "We need game X to sell before developing/porting game Y". To be honest though, I don't know how popular Dragon Ball games are on Nintendo systems but if they're willing to port it to the Xbox, they sure can do it for the Switch.
Re: Capcom's Future Output For Switch Depends On Ultra Street Fighter II Sales, States COO
Re: EA Is Considering Bringing More Games to Nintendo Switch
Even as a PC gamer, I couldn't care less about EA games. However, would like to point out that FIFA 18 coming to the switch is a promising sign that EA will at least port some of their games to Switch. Wii U only got 1 FIFA game AFAIK.
Re: Feature: Ten Wii U Games That Would Find a Loving Home on Nintendo Switch
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of the Nintendo Switch Presentation?
Re: Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima Feels The 3DS Can "Continue In Its Own Form"
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Now Battles for Our Time, Not Just Loyalty
Re: Retro: Remember When Nintendo Ditched The Headphone Socket?
Weird that the GBA SP didn't have a headphone jack. Pretty much every handheld has had that.
As for Apple, as @SLIGEACH_EIRE stated, this is just money grabbing at it's finest. Encouraging you to buy more things you don't need at the expense of functionality and ease of use. Just about every device made in the last 10-15 years has this jack, and the audio quality is fine. I really hope this doesn't catch on with Android manufacturers or future iPhones. Be careful before you put your money down on the iPhone 7 people.
Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Power Bombs in Japan
An NX reveal cannot come soon enough.
Re: Recent Data Highlights Gradual Decline in Pokémon GO Users and Engagement
I think that some of the decline is expected, especially as kids will be heading back to school and students back to college/uni.
However, like I said in another article, they NEED to fix the difficulty catching basic pokemon as well as the tracker. Lots of people like hunting for specific pokemon. I'm still enjoying it but i'm becoming bored of ~100cp pokemon breaking out of multiple pokeballs.
Re: Niantic Pushes Out a New Pokémon GO Update
Still enjoy playing it at the moment. However, the pokemon being harder to catch and the tracker NEED to be fixed. A 59cp spearow escaped out of a pokeball for me recently after a great throw.
Re: Fan-Made Title Pokémon Uranium Withdrawn By Creators Following Cease And Desist Fears
At least I have a copy of the game now. It will find it's way onto Torrent sites eventually.
Re: AM2R Developer Encourages Players to Support Metroid II On the eShop and to Avoid 'Hate' Against Nintendo
Re: Pokémon Uranium is the Latest Ambitious Fan-Made Game to Run The Gauntlet
Downloaded this and the AM2R Metroid fangame as well. Interested to try them out.
Re: Nintendo Continues to Promote Evergreen 3DS Titles With the 'Summer Gaming List'
Re: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Co-Director Was Initially "Disappointed" With Western Localisation
Re: New Atlus and SEGA Publishing Deal is Great News For European Gamers
@tudsworth Even if SEGA Europe are lazy, at least they're not so lazy and stupid as to not localise the games at all in Europe. As long as someone is bringing the Atlus games to Europe, I don't mind.
Re: New Atlus and SEGA Publishing Deal is Great News For European Gamers
@Billsama Despite Mighty No. 9, this news didn't make me cry like an anime fan on prom night, more like an anime fan in Akihabara.
Exactly the news I wanted to hear! Well done SEGA and Atlus!
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Thinks You Should Give Star Fox Zero Another Try
Re: Ubisoft Hails Nintendo As "One Of The Best Partners In The World"
"We've sold lots of copies of Just Dance on it."
Lol. Nice justification of your stellar Nintendo support. To be fair, at least you tried with some other franchises (Rayman).
Re: Chinese App, 'Pocket All-Stars Smash Bros.', Uses Nintendo, Capcom and SEGA Franchises
Re: Fans Create Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Patch Which Uncensors Western Censorship
I know this is a ridiculous thing to say, but i might actually buy this game now because of this. Well done ladies and gentlemen for providing this patch!
Re: Nintendo of Europe Unveils Over 40 Discounts for eShop 5 Year Anniversary Sale
@VanillaLake I agree for the Virtual Console titles, but better than the absolute bargain of being reduced from £49.99 to £39.99 like they've done in the past for some of their retail games. Totally greatly reduced prices!
Got some leftover money on the eShop so will pick up Earthbound.
Re: Talking Point: In Praise of the 3DS eShop, Which is Now Five Years Old
While I have bought games from the eShop on both Wii U and 3DS, they are both lackluster storefronts compared to even other console platforms, never mind PC.
Re: Talking Point: 3DS Homebrew Development Causes Another Game Takedown as Nintendo Maintains Its Tight Grip
Re: Video: Here's Why Getting Your Retro Games Graded Could Be A Complete Waste Of Money
Looks like the scalpers have found a new business venture after Amiibo and Special Editions. A complete waste of money.
I understand the idea behind a collection of games, but they are meant to be played. This will turn people to digital copies and emulators if enough people get on board and inflate the price of old games.
Re: Speedrunner Takes Flight With 100% Star Fox Zero World Record
@VanillaLake Thankfully, that's not the case. I skimmed the video, and that's the time of gameplay, the cutscenes add onto the 1 hour and 33 minutes.
Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero
Re: Sega "Very Interested" In Bringing Atlus Games To Europe
It's nice that Sega acknowledge that they don't release enough Atlus games in Europe. But "always trying to find a way" isn't good enough. I want results, and the market does exist in Europe for niche JRPGs and other such titles. You can start by giving a release date within the same month as North America, and making sure 7th Dragon III code: VFD does come to Europe.
Re: 7th Dragon III Code: VFD Won't Be Coming to Europe for Now
I'm hoping this is an isolated case because this is pretty much what I feared. SEGA is going to do absolutely nothing more than Atlus localising games for the European market.
Re: Interview: Humble Bundle Co-Founder John Graham Reflects on the Successful Friends of Nintendo Promotion
Hopefully this will become a recurring thing for Nintendo. Old games that site at RRP on the eShop for several years could do with a bundle like this. Developers won't get the short stick and can sell games in their back catalogue. They don't need to put games that are a month or two old in a bundle.
Re: Humble Friends of Nintendo Bundle Passes 60,000 Sales in Under 24 Hours
When Nintendo does something right! Good selection of games in the bundle for a ridiculously cheap price? Count me in!
Re: Western Localisation Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Features Costume And Age Changes
@Uzuki Again, a game DEVELOPED by Square, PUBLISHED by Nintendo. Nintendo issued the statement of change (as reported by Nintendolife).
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2016/03/nintendo_issues_statement_on_side_quest_changes_in_bravely_second
Re: Western Localisation Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Features Costume And Age Changes
Re: NIS America No Longer Publishing Atlus Games In Europe
As long as Sega or some other publishing company steps up to fill the in the gap and bring Atlus games to Europe, I don't really mind. If we get less games, then I won't be happy.
So show you mean business and give Europeans a release date for SMT IV Apocalypse.
Re: Nintendo's Updates Its Guidance on Super Mario Maker Level Deletions
@JaxonH I would like to have a shot at your levels, maybe I could pick up some tips. I've got 2 stars and uploaded 8 levels (although many of them were uploaded in the last 2 days).
And yeah, I agree with you, so many levels with a million Star powerups and enough enemies to make the game lag, as well as levels that have a straight path with nothing to the flagpole. Too many auto levels too (although some are pretty good).
Re: Nintendo's Updates Its Guidance on Super Mario Maker Level Deletions
I really hope none of my levels get taken down. I've been tinkering in Super Mario Maker, and I've only gotten 2 stars so far. The first reason really kinda concerns me. What's the point of uploading levels if they just get taken down? How do you advertise your levels without resorting to contacting streamers and youtubers to play your levels?
Re: Nintendo's Official UK Store Opens Pre-Orders For Fire Emblem Fates: Limited Edition - Rapidly Sells Out
I understand that a limited edition means that only a finite amount of copies exist and that it gets people to pre-order and put their money down.
Re: Sega of America Will Be Publishing Atlus Games in North America from Now On
Originally, I actually thought this article was the obligatory April Fools joke.
Re: Rumour: New Nintendo NX Controller Images Surface and Set the Web Alight
I really hope that isn't the final design. Can't say anything about comfort but no buttons and a d-pad are a no-no. If this is the design, hopefully they implement those control methods and make the controller/device similar to the Vita.
Re: Nintendo Seeks a Trademark for Mario Coin Sound
Don't understand why companies want to waste time doing this, honestly hope this falls through just like the stupid trademark Sony tried to get passed.
Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Virtual Console Revolution Must Wait as We Pay Once More for SNES Games
Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Virtual Console Revolution Must Wait as We Pay Once More for SNES Games
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
Re: Hitoshi Yamagami Talks a Bit About Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem's Conception
If this gets good reviews and plays anything like SMT or Persona or Fire emblem or a mix of all three, then i'm in. I have faith in this game and in Atlus, despite the theme being musicidol related (not normally my thing).
Re: Minecraft on Wii U Won't Feature Inventory Management on the GamePad Screen
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Special Edition Owners in North America Highlight Issues With Soundtrack USB Drive
Re: Sega Slashes Full-Year Net Profit Projection By 90 Percent
@retro_player_22 Pachinko machines make easier money than video games do. And most AAA developers would follow suit if given the chance and declining sales of software. SNK did recently announce that they are focusing more on games though.
Re: Nintendo UK's 24 Days Of Christmas Promotion Offers Up Some Festive Discounts
Hooray! A good price from Nintendo for once!
Re: Nintendo of Europe Launches Its Cyber Deals Weekend With Four Major eShop Discounts
NoA have gotten the right idea, although again, some of their retail games are too expensive.
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/11/nintendo_of_america_confirms_its_black_friday_eshop_cyber_deals
