I will try to keep my expectations tempered.

Since its already sold out at gamestop.com and amazon.com, my only hope is bestbuy.com!

On Dec. 4th, I originally placed an order for (2) Pits and a Little Mac at toysrus.com.

This order got cancelled due to a 'technical issue' and about a week and half later, I got an email with instructions and a special code to place a re-order.

On Dec. 24th, I placed my re-order for a Pit and Captain Falcon. I got an Order Acknowledgement, Pre-Order and Order Confirmation. The status showed "Item located in stock." The Order Confirmation also included the following phrase: "You can expect to receive your items between 01/09/15 and 01/14/15"

Now early this morning I get a cancellation email!

To add insult to the situation, I see people here posting that they got a shipping confirmation with tracking on orders placed on Dec. 31st. Orders placed one week later takes priority!?!? Geoffrey the Giraffe must be running this business.

I am extremely disappointed in Toys'R'Us and will most likely take my business somewhere else.

Perhaps the reinstate vs. repurchase preorders depends on the form of payment (Credit Cards vs. PayPal/Debit/Gift Cards). Who knows what criteria was used. I just know my preorder of Lucario on the Buy 1 get 40% off on second item with free shipping was cancelled and awaiting further instructions on how to repurchase. You bet I will demand the same deal/promo. The technical error was not my fault so why would I pay the same items at full price on repurchase?

I've pre-ordered the Smash Bundle right after E3. I'd like to think placing your pre-order early on gives you a good chance in getting it on release date.

As for amiibo, I also pre-ordered them early on and got all the first wave. I took advantage of the TRU 3/30 deal, so I got them at a good price. Fry's Electronics was actually selling the first wave at around $7~ each during black friday, but the drive is over an hour. The gas and time far outweighs the savings. As for the second wave part 1 (Little Mac, Diddy Kong and Zelda), I also preordered them and got them last friday. Awaiting wave 2 part 2 release date (Captain Falcon, Pit and Luigi). I also pre-ordered all of wave 3 including the store exclusives with the exception of Rosalina and Luma. Checking on Target.com evey hour, LOL. Yes, I've drank the amiibo kool aid.

@luckybreak @EnyoTheFirst This past weekend, Toys"R"Us in U.S. (online and in store) had 3 for $30 promo on amiibo which included the first wave (12) and second wave (6). Unfortunately, that promo is now over but may return in the near future.

@Raghav Call your local Best Buy and/or Future Shop, both stores price match plus 10% of the difference. Make sure you bring a hard copy of the Target ad/flyer. BTW, Walmart and TRU price match as well. In addition, amazon.ca has the same deal buy 2 get 3rd free.

You cannot buy games at target.ca (atleast not yet). You have to head down to your local Target store.
Since this promo started last friday, you might want to call ahead of time to make sure they have the games in stock.

About two weeks ago, Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada was selling 3DS XL for $129 CDN (this sale included the limited and special editions). To save even more, I managed to price match the deal at Best Buy for an additional 10% off on the price difference which is another $7. In end, I got the 3DS XL Retro NES Edition for $122 + tax. Moral of the story, you don't need to wait for Black Friday to get a good deal.

Definitely more amiibo details and a surprise Club Nintendo reward like the Luigi figurine from last year.

Nintendo rarely releases toys that complements their first party titles. For that reason alone, I'm personally buying them all. "Gotta buy em all". If they end up flopping on this venture, atleast I'll have them as collectibles. The additional functionality on the announced games be it limited or what not is just bonus contents for me. It's all gravy.

@Tran91 Pokemon Company server issue, most likely it crashed due to high volume/demand during peak time. When you opened your October Newsletter email thats when it fetches the demo code from their server. Once they rectify the server issue, we should get our codes. Unless the distribution was poorly coded.

I am very disappointed with this change. Most likely the elite rewards will be all digital games moving forward. Make sure to voice your concern when filling out those surveys and ask for physical Elite rewards.

It is not a question of if, but when my gamepad breaks what are my options? Out of warranty repair? Buy another Wii U system? Just make one available as a spare.

As for multiple gamepad gameplay, it would have been nice if they incorporated this in MK8 where each gamepad can have each own tv off screen play? Where a TV is no longer required.

Based on personal experience, you should be able to buy the toys without buying the Happy Meal. I'm buying them all, I'm lovin' it.
