The Messenger's Picnic Panic free DLC is finally playable. Provided you've completed the main game, you'll be able to access it right away. It includes three new levels, three new boss fights, and 18 original music tracks. To download it, head over to the Switch eShop.
The [DLC] entry point is in the shop after you beat the main game’s final boss. Look for the palm tree neon sign.
Below is the description and launch trailer:
The Messenger's epic story continues on in a summer vacation DLC full of tropical action! On Voodkin Island, the demon Barma’thazël captured helpless little creatures to use them in his dark rituals. Only the heroic Messenger can save them now in a vacation-meets-rescue-mission adventure!
Will you be trying this out? Have you played through the base game yet? Tell us below.

Awesome! I somehow forgot this was coming. I'll gladly take more of this game!
SO EXCITED!!! 2nd best game of 2018, only topped by smash ultimate itself, gets 3 new levels. Been looking forward to this for months.
Literally just got downloading this about 5 minutes ago. I'm excited to be able to play this game for the first time with the DLC as it been in my backlog since it's very first Eshop sell.
Wouldn't it be nice if this came installed in the delayed pre-ordered physical edition cards.. whenever they really do ship.
110% sure it is not though.
LOVE THIS GAME! Super excited for this DLC!
This DLC is so so so good.
Considering how much I love the game, I should be more excited...problem is I'm drowning in other games, and I'm playing Hyper Light Drifter for the third time...
Best news today
This is so awesome
I don't know about you - but I had to beat the final boss again till I was able to access the DLC - but it helped to get acquainted again with the controls.
Got my hands on it last night and oh boy how good is to comeback to this pearl!
However I got into an issue as the game did not recognize that I had beaten it and had to beat the final stage any boss again (let's say after a year I was rusty as hell and took me more than I would like to admit)
@Balta666
See my post above and you - had the same problem - and just like you I first had problems with the mechanics after a year long pause
That is a huge announcement! This game is simply one of the best modern JNR-Action games out there. Love the humor and the art style!
I haven't even started the game. Does that mean that I can't download it yet?
@gamekill Agreed
@Moroboshi876 you can download it but this dlc is only available to play after beating the story
Downloaded it yesterday and it's a very nice add on. First I was really upset, because you have to finish the last boss again to get access to the DLC, but the game is so awesome that it doesn't matter in retrospect.
Unfortunately this DLC is not on the physical release.
@Balta666 Then there's no problem. It seemed like really important to have played the game before even downloading it. Thanks.
Guess that explains why people suddenly hate my picnic panic Mario maker 2 level all of a sudden. Time to rename it.
Only played the first surfing level thus far can't wait to dive back in for more
Just saw this game on sale along with Steamworld Dig 2 and Yoku. Decisions this weekend.
@LordVal You have to finish the last boss only if you beat the game too close to when it released. They patched it late last year to trigger a save after the boss.
So I just had to load my save file and go up to the orb to trigger the DLC.
@Mfreddy22 Out of those three, I’d go for this one! Although I’m also very tempted by Yoku...
This dlc is awesome. Loving it so far.
@Mfreddy22 all them masterpieces!
Going to have to get this over the weekend. Free DLC is a good incentive
@imgrowinglegs yeah, I read this one too. Actually it's not that bad. The Game is nearly perfect, so it doesn't matter to me if I have to play it again.
And I beat the DLC yesterday. Very short, but a lot of fun!
