I really, really need to know what the overworld map is like. Is it just another bunch of unreadable hexagons?

Fingers crossed it does indeed show total hours played per game at last.
This is sorely lacking since forever, with the amount shown on the console being only the hours played of that game on that exact console, assuming you’ve never played that game on another console. eg. on S2 my BotW hours have frozen at the total hours played on my first Switch and for some reason TotK reset to zero (both got the S2 upgrade).

Update: Huzzah! And it also shows per day so i can do my own deep dives. Colour me impressed, (with a u).

This looks like a good chill traversal exploration game. I have my fingers crossed for it.

@SwitchplayerJohn What threw me was the app itself telling me it had been updated with the new theme. It then took me too long a moment to think to check app updates .. and you are correct, that sorted it. I appreciate you taking the time to point in the right direction.

They could be using this same motion detection tech in the next console to have more precise, or even controller-free motion control. So anyone using this will give them usage data if it’s hooked up to the net. Possibly. 🧐

I’ve heard the leak that there are also Hylean Leeks out in the wild. Apparently if you attach one to an arrow and fire it at a dam, water will come out, draining the reservoir.

That’s cool, it keeps Zelda’s voice consistent through the BotW style trilology. I wonder when it’ll be revealed who voices Link, unless i missed it. I mean someone has to do the ughs and hyahs.

Was this reviewed played on a TV or on the Switch undocked? Maybe it looks better on the Switch screen?

I didn’t like the enforced timer in Octo Expansion anyway, it changed the game from great to annoying. But i persisted, till there’s this one level which is basically balloons popping up on a square platform .. on a timer. Brutal. After tens of tries that was the end of that game.

@KateGray I had the exact same issue in Ori, in i think the exact same spot by your description. I imagine that was a dropping off point for quite a few who were lulled in by the demo.

I wonder what happened to this game on Switch? It disappeared from the eShop …

It’s a great game so far, i love the finessed ingenuity of their spin on retro gaming styles and adding more to the mix. Love the aesthetic and the story so far too. So glad they ported this for the Switch, and so well.

@KateGray Looks like Nintendo Life has gone back in time to last year’s indie world direct … which is funny because Nintendo are currently advertising on facebook for preorders for the upcoming game Splatoon 3 this coming September.

Funny you should mention BotW … I live in the UK and so have the European icon. I gotta say, to put it on the positive side, i would kill for the US icon instead!

Just because you can mess with it, i’d have to go with Splatoon 2’s Turf War loading / waiting track. Being able to change the pitch, throw in voice, make it sound submerged, etc. That was so cool.

I’m really enjoying Timeli(n)e at the moment, and not just because it has a playable cat in it.

So .. how come King Salmonid is only the size of a shed? I swear the first reveal made it look like it was gonna be like Godzilla.

Possibly Donkey Kong Jr on the Game & Watch. Played it in Hamleys, wanted it badly, couldn’t have it. … Then again, didn’t Teletex have games of some sort? Pong maybe?

Making it more realistic doesn’t make it look better. This trend is a sad one.

Let’s not forget Outer Wilds, which as we know is caught in a deep space Summer ‘21 release date time loop ..

I’d like to see interesting games with local multi-player co-op.

I Was playing Splatoon 2 octo expansion (yeah i know, late to the party) .. but it’s not the same as the main game, so disappointing right now. I really hope 3’s single player is more accessible and fun.
Back to Turf War i guess

Schim looks very promising. I hope it gets a Switch release.
