Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest 2022 Opening Showcase has come and gone, and following directly after was the indie-focused Day of the Devs 2022 presentation. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Double Fine and iam8bit's showcase, this second part of the Summer Game Fest stream featured significantly more Switch news than the Keighley-hosted show.
Below we've rounded up each and every Switch announcement from Day of the Devs 2022, in the order they turned up in the show.
Day of the Devs 2022 Opening Showcase - Every Switch game announcement
Here is every confirmed Switch game from the Day of the Devs 2022 presentation.
Time Flies - 2023
This whimsical game is part open world and part flight simulator – and you play it as a fly! You are provided with a bucket list that you can complete before you die. But the life of a fly is short – and the list is long! Go ahead and learn an instrument, become rich, read a book, go on tour, find yourself, get drunk, make someone laugh or enter the art world! And if you don’t feel like pursuing your life goals, just hang, clean your wings and watch television. Make the best of the time you have! Because we are all going to die.
A Little to the Left - 2022
A Little To The Left is a cozy puzzle game that has you sort, stack, and organize items to solve puzzles hidden among household objects. Keep an eye out for a mischievous cat who will occasionally undo your tidy work.
Bear and Breakfast - 28th July 2022
Bear and Breakfast is a laid-back management adventure game where you play as a well-meaning bear trying to run a B+B in the woods. Hank and his friends find an abandoned shack and, equipped with their teenage ingenuity, turn it into a money-making bed and breakfast scheme for unsuspecting tourists. As your business expands so do the mysteries of the forest, and Hank soon finds himself uncovering a plot deeper than the wilderness itself.

Fox and Frog Travelers: The Demon of Adashino Island is a 3D action-adventure game with a Japanese-inspired atmosphere. You will play as Fox, a girl who finds herself on Adashino Island and starts traveling with Frog. Torii gates, food stall lanterns, and neon signs give light and color to the island. Something is lurking in the shadows, inching ever closer... " Fox and Frog Travelers" is currently under development by Rias, an illustrator and concept artist that came up with the idea for it based on one of his illustrations. The story of Fox and Frog's long journey through the night is planned for release in a few years.

This, as well as the Devolver Digital showcase, looked well better than the regular Summer Game Fest Livestream.
I like SCHiM, looks very cute. ^^
Looks like a lot of shovelware to me..
I am SO excited for Bear & Breakfast!
Bear and breakfast looks exactly like what I was hoping it was going to be! Day one purchase (not play tho. Will be too busy with Xenoblade 3).
Anyway, the animated trailer was very cute and funny!
"A Little To The Left" looks like a game for me. Though I'm very happy there were so many good games announced here.
I am so DONE with indie devs introducing themselves to me, showing me their modest-but-well-kept lounge, basically trying to convince me they're not corporate money eaters but just regular hipsters like you and me. SHOW ME THE GAME! I do not have the time and certainly don't have the inclination to meet you before I've even seen your game.
Time Flies looked the most interesting to me, just going by the way it was presented and the message it carried.
A Little to the Left can **** right off.
@SteamEngenius Literally none of these look like shovelware to me.
Anyways, these all look like great passion projects, most intrested in Bear and Breakfast. I like how the trailer has a "We Bare Bears" art style, it looked really well made. The game itself looks entertaining too. I'll look at the other trailers sooner or later, but they all look interesting at the very least.
I will admit, @gcunit has a point with the introductions of the developers, those are getting repetitive.
@gcunit Nothing wrong with a little structure, plus it's nice to see a little personality behind the games especially when they're usually the sole/main developers on the project. If it's not your thing then you just need to be patient for 30 seconds or so which is nothing really.
These indie games should have been the focus of the main summer games stream! And nothing but gameplay condensed into an hour.
Every single thing in Day of the Devs was up my alley.
@doodlewhizz "Please be patient for 30 seconds or so while I'm trying to convince you, person who owes me nothing, that you should invest your time and money in my game".
That doesn't sound like an effective marketing tactic to me.
These all look utterly wonderful — Although I'm not sure if I have enough time in my life for at least TWO more farming/life sims...
@gcunit I mean they're going to be doing that anyway with the gameplay/trailer anyway so what's the issue? Some people like to see a little behind the curtain of those who are actually working on the games, even moreso for those interested in indie games specifically. Doesn't sound like that bad of a tactic to me.
SCHiM's gameplay and the Fox and the Frog game itself appeal the most. Desta too. The others are interesting from an appreciation perspective but not a purchase perspective. I need reviews though, of course
I thought Little Nemo was going to be a remake of the Capcom NES title. It still looks... ok. I'll wait, and see.
Usually, I'm not into most Indie games, because they are not my definition fun, and in addition to that, many are one-and-done titles. For example, I like the original Shantae; it was a good game. Additionally, it became a series of good games.
Edit: Actually, speaking of, NLife might have already mentioned this: until the 16th of the month, many games are on sale, presumably for what would be E3, and the 5 Shantae series titles are on sale.
SCHiM looks cool. I appreciate games that manage to come up with new ideas, and I've never seen anything quite like that.
Would rather have the NES Little Nemo.
looking forward to most of these.
Schim looks very promising. I hope it gets a Switch release.
