Re: Freedom Planet On The Wii U Just Got A Sizable Update

Zando

I still play my Wii U. I have a half-dozen exclusives (Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, WWHD, TPHD, Wonderful101) I've barely even touched.

This game on the other hand, I haven't really been able to get into it... yet. Now that it has a playable bunny, maybe.

Re: Review: The Jackbox Party Pack 4 (Switch eShop)

Zando

I got a review code myself and have been having a lot of fun playing these games. My main issue was with some technical troubles in Civic Doodle, where the drawings wouldn't show up correctly on the big screen. It was a bit of a bummer in the games I played. The other 4 are great, and I found Monster Seeking Monster hilarious!

Re: Review: Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle (Switch)

Zando

I reviewed the game too, and was similarly confused by the lack of online. Turns out, online has since been added via a post-launch update. Didn't seem to be (m)any people online though, but it is there. There's also a DLC character.

@RyanCraddock You may want to update the review to reflect that there is indeed online play.

Re: Review: Arcade Archives Mario Bros. (Switch eShop)

Zando

I had hours of fun with the NES version on Wii. Multiplayer is a must here! Price point seems a bit steep for something so basic, not to mention old. I have problems with companies profiting off of ancient games; after a certain point, they should be free. They're a part of history. But that's my two cents!
You can get the game "Woah Dave", which is very Mario Bros like in its 1-room simplicity and increasing difficulty, for $5 on Wii U AND 3DS (cross-buy!). And that game is even more frantic, fun, and controls like a modern hardcore platformer instead of a clunky early arcade game. I wish Woah Dave! was on Switch, tbh. It would be a perfect game for "sharing the joy."

Re: Nintendo Has Announced the End of the Wii Shop Channel

Zando

Quick. Give me some of the best WiiWare games I may have missed! Here are some of my faves:
Cave Story. La Mulana. Strong Bad. Chick Chick Boom and MotoHeroz were great for multiplayer. The Bit.Trip series was mixed, but good overall.
I never played either LostWinds, any of the WiiWare ArtStyle games, or Mega Man 9 or 10. What else is a must-play?

Re: Rumour: The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth May Be Coming to Wii U After All

Zando

@Moon

Yes.

The version released on the New 3DS is Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, which is an expansion/remake of the original. There is a ton of content to see in BOI Rebirth alone and you can play it for hundreds of hours.

It's one of only two New 3DS exclusive games, so I'd say if you have a New 3DS (and don't mind the filthy content), get Isaac.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th October (North America)

Zando

Only $5 for Revelations?? I might finally pick that up. I've never played any RE games before, will this be an issue for me? Heck, I might get Mercenaries too, just because of the sale.

The Ashley Halloween theme looks cute too, but I think I'll just switch to my Rottytops theme for Halloween instead.

Re: Official Nintendo UK Store Bundles Fire Emblem amiibo with Code Name S.T.E.A.M.

Zando

Brilliant idea. And it's not just a "sneaky strategy," STEAM uses Fire Emblem amiibo in the game, so it makes a lot of sense to bundle them. This way, people who actually want STEAM have a chance to get the amiibo that works with it. I have STEAM in NA and very little chance of getting a Marth or Ike (or Robin) for a reasonable price. Meaning I'm missing out on part of the game.

Of course that's >implying that people won't buy these bundles to resell the amiibo and game.
