Re: Watch: Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase July 2020

WillQuan

Don't have much of an opinion on this Direct but after a couple of great years first party wise with the Switch, is incredibly disappointing to see Nintendo seemingly fall back into old habits of barely showing/releasing anything. Just seems they are slowly losing momentum but who knows, could be something big around the corner.

Re: Transformers: Battlegrounds Rolls Out On Switch Later This Year

WillQuan

@TimboSlice Transformers has had some great games in recent(ish) years with Devastation and the two Cybertron games. Even the Transformers game on PS2 was pretty good. Think there is more they can do with it but it's definitely done a lot better than some similar franchises in terms of games.

I mean the graphics on this one don't look great but seems a little early to say it's "horrible". If it's a strategy game could end up being pretty cool and something a bit different.

Re: Nintendo 3DS Emulator Citra Comes To Android Smartphones

@Kalmaro No one argues its vital for human survival, you just made that up.

On another point, let's say there is a SNES game that has never been re released on any platform and the only way to play it is to pay through the nose for a second hand copy. The original developer doesn't benefit, only the person who sells it does which leads to some games costing hundreds of pounds. I'm sure the people who developed these games would rather more people play them than sitting behind a ludicrous pay wall that doesn't benefit them or the developer/publisher they worked for in any shape or form.

Another argument in my case is a lot of my favourite games I originally played on an emulator when I was a teenager hadn't been re released at the time and I couldn't afford the original system and a copy of the game . Now I'm older and have more disposable income, I've bought many of these games when they have been re released. So in effect emulation has actually led to me buying games I might not have. I don't think it is as black and white as you are saying.

Re: Frustrated Super Smash Bros. Fans Get #FixUltimateOnline Trending On Social Media

I actually find this really strange as I have pretty bad Internet, around 10mb speed but very rarely have issues playing online. The weird thing is when I lived at my parents house a few years back and had a wired connection on my PS4, SF5 lagged quite often but from what I understand the netocde there is pretty bad. Not saying its not an issue because with all these complaints it clearly is just strange that I seem to avoid them.

Do think Nintendo need to put more effort into their online service overall from the connectivity, lack of party chat and the games offered with the service. I know it's cheap but that doesn't mean it can't be criticised when other companies charge more but you get a much better deal. Would rather pay more and get more than pay less and get a barebones services.

Re: Review: Warface - A Perfectly Competent Free-To-Play Shooter For Your Switch

Quire enjoying this myself, been wanting a decent multiplayer fps on Switch and at the minute this scratches that itch. Will be interesting to see what happens long term as looking on Reddit seems to be quite P2W on PC where players have played much longer. Would love a COD game on switch though, Modern Warfare remastered seems like a good option that would run on Switch.

I recently bought Hypercharge Unboxed for the PVP but the online multiplayer on that game is already pretty barren in terms of players for me but I do like playing the single player/ co-op mode.

Re: FIFA 20 On Switch Will Be A Scaled-Back "Legacy Edition"

WillQuan

Thought 18 was decent and 19 felt like a minor improvement but I'm not gonna buy it again if this is what we are getting. Back to getting PES on PS4. Do think Konami are missing a trick here, a good version of PES on Switch would likely sell as Nintendo fans have been shafted by EA so many times.

Re: Feature: Forget Sonic, These Are the 10 Worst Video Game Movies Ever

WillQuan

@Malcrash Think the bar is so low with video game movies that it doesn't even need to be that good to be the best. Think it captures the Mortal Kombat games pretty well in movie form.

Do have a soft spot for the Street Fighter movie out of pure nostalgia as well though, love Guiles speech about getting on his boat and kicking Bison arse!

Re: More Than 10 Million Players Attended Fortnite's In-Game Marshmello Concert, And It Was Amazing

WillQuan

@sanderev
A) It's a game on a Nintendo system
B) This event happened live within the game Fortnite.
C) Like his music or not, Marshmello is a DJ that has hundred of millions of streams on Spotify so he's pretty big worldwide and he hosted what I can only assume is the first live concert in a video game.

Also have you actually played the game? Because while there are criticisms to be made of Fortnite, a lack of depth is certainly not one of them.

Re: More Than 10 Million Players Attended Fortnite's In-Game Marshmello Concert, And It Was Amazing

@LUIGITORNADO I never said people are not entitled to different opinions but why get so hurt by the fact someone enjoys something you don't and then act like you are superior because of it? Different opinions make life interesting, being so butt hurt about other people's makes you a bit of a baby. As an example, I don't particularly like Rockstar games but it doesn't mean I'm offended that other people do and I enjoy talking to my friends as to why they do enjoy them and I don't, you know like adults?

So baffled by the reaction of some people to Fortnite on this site. If you don't enjoy something fair enough, no need to be so down on it. Just irks me when fans of certain games act superior because they don't play the "in thing". We all enjoy games to some capacity hence why we are all on this site, so how about appreciate we all have different tastes and get on with it.

Re: Switch Online Is Going To Be The Place To Play Classic Nintendo Content, According To Reggie

WillQuan

@Frenean The family plan is not available to everyone, I know one other person with a Switch so that's off limits for me. Also PS Plus and Xbox Live often have pretty heavy discounts so you can often get a year for a significantly reduced price. I just don't understand why Nintendo need to always be so slow with these things. The Virtual console on Wii had a ton of games released at a relatively good pace, receiving three games a month is a bit of a joke when they have clearly had access to the files for these games for years. I also don't buy the argument it's difficult to port these games when hackers have got emulators running on the system in a short time. I'm not particularly angry just disappointed that the service can't offer good value.

@VmprHntrD It is not entitlement to want a good service that's worth paying for especially when you have to pay to play online. Considering Microsoft offer both 360 games and Xbox One games each month and PlayStation offer at least 2 PS4 games a month, it's difficult not to feel ripped off. While the cost is low, offering an incentive to purchase is crucial to get more subscribers.
