@BlueOcean I would certainly buy it if this was the only system. I just don’t play hand held mode with switch.

It’s a great game and if you only want to play handheld, this is the only way to go. If you want to play on your tv, then it’s silly to get this version. If you can pay $60 for this, you are well on your way to investing in another system.
I think $60 is high. Yes porting this to a much less powerful machine wasn’t easy. But it didn’t cost them anywhere near the money or time that it takes to create a new game.
And Nintendo doesn’t control the price. But if they did, it would still be $60.

@Roto13 absolutely. 360 Red circle was a disaster. Great system besides that. Nintendo plays it safe now. They perfect existing tech. Sony and Microsoft push tech more so there will be more issues.

Brought my 360 home and it red bricked after an hour. That’s my only really issue. I think snes had a controller problem that they fixed for me.

@1UP_MARIO i agree. I don’t play handheld so why would I pay for a more expensive inferior port?

The list shows there isn’t much new to play on any system.

I think it will appeal to a lot of gamers. I’m not a hand held gamer so it’s not for me.

Micro transactions work because people are willing to pay. People will pay full price for old ports.

The main dungeons were the weakest part of the game. If they add traditional dungeons and remove the weapon durability, the game will be just about perfect.

I’ll get Marvel if general consensus is it’s an 8+ game.
If not, there are too many good games to waste time on an average game.

This was a game I was going to buy on Switch if the versions were the same.
I’m about half way through the PS4 version and am really enjoying it.

I’m not the type who would enjoy making levels but I could play levels made by others. I honestly would rather play a 2D game made by Nintendo. But I might try this.

If you are a Friday the 13th fan, it’s a no brainer. This is a fun game with friends. Online play can suck because people suck. Offline playing as Jason can be fun too.

Finally after 5 years, a new Mario Kart.

Getting my copy today. Pretty excited.

Prime 4 was the game I was looking forward to. I don’t even care anymore. If it comes out one day, great. It’s been 12 years since the last one, so what’s another 12. It’s been 5 years since the last Mario Kart. Nintendo makes less of the games I like, but the Pokémon crowd is very happy.

@sixrings absolutely. I’m not knocking it. But for me, I just played it.

@sixrings it’s definitely an industry trend. I’d rather spend time on new experiences. Sure, there are special games I’d replay. But there are too many now.

@sixrings I played it within the last two years for first time. It was fun to play, but I’m in no rush to play a remake if everything is the same. It’s not a long game and I’d fly through it if puzzles and boss strategies are the same.

Good to hear. Definitely picking it up. The only other Switch title I might get this year is Link, but if it’s the same length as the original, I’m not paying $60 just on principle.

I really hope they add traditional dungeons and not have weapons break after a few hits. The main dungeons were the weakest part of the game.

And yeah E3 was pretty bad this year. Cut scenes and remakes.

I just want Nintendo to be the innovator that sets them apart. I didn’t see much of that today.

@Deanster101 I agree. So many ports. You don’t score any points for ports. Remakes are ok sometimes but it’s getting ridiculous. I’m getting Luigi 3 for sure. But where is the innovation? Where are the new IPs? BOTW2 is great but no reason to get excited until it has a solid release date.

It's a great game. If you are a handheld gamer, pick it up. If not, get it for cheap on another system. There will be sacrifices porting it to Switch.
E3 has been a bunch of remakes and ports. Hard to get excited about much.

MK8 port is currently a top 10 title. It makes no business sense to release a new one right now. The port cost Nintendo very little and they charged more than the WiiU version. It sucks for somebody who played the title 5 years ago and wants a new one.

So many new games to play...

@Moroboshi876 yeah Switch is technically a great handheld device and an ok console. But portability outside the home is an issue with no online and a weak battery (unless you pay for one of Nintendo’s endless accessories).
But I’m not sure Id want to play VR on the go, let alone Nintendo’s version of VR.

I really want a new Mario Kart. It’s been 5 years since the last game. In terms of business, Nintendo is in no rush when a port is always in the top 10.
This mobile game will be huge. But this is my least favorite way to play a game.

@kostasfil the price is absurd. Switch owners will pay for things that surprise me, so we will see.

I’m not a fan of how the controls feel for 2D games in hand held mode. I’m wondering how do most play hand held? Do people use another controller ?

As with most games, it all depends if you want to play it on the go. If yes, get the switch version
If you’re going to play on a tv, get ps4 or other.

You can’t half ass VR. The PS4 pro struggles with it.

If there are no differences in the versions I will get the Switch version. I dont undock my switch but maybe I would more for a 2D game.
But if there’s any difference in performance, I’ll get PS4 version.

I didn’t turn mine on for over a year and couldn’t get it to turn on or charge. I looked online and found a solution but can’t remember what I did.

@electrogeist just wondering why you want it to die. Those games I mentioned are pretty great and I liked better than anything Nintendo did in 2018 and 2019 so far. There’s room for VR and normal games.

Nobody wants this on Switch. Until it’s announced, then it’s a Day 1 buy.

@joey302 I agree with you. Those Castlevania gameboy games seemed primitive even at the time.

With a little more power, Nintendo will be able to have double the ports.

Hopefully Nintendo has something up their sleeves that will compete for game of the year this year. They didn’t last year.

I have enjoyed smash in the past. But it’s the same game over and over. Stages are even the same. It’s like street fighter II. It’s fun to play with friends but I get bored playing solo.
