Re: Look, Capcom Knows You Really Want Monster Hunter World On Switch

UNSOLUTEDSALT

Why don't people seem to know Monster Hunter World IS MH5. And I also don't understand porting XX at this point when World makes so many quality of life improvements that XX would be a huge step backwards.

An original game is the best option but also VERY risky. Because the Switch is the new hotness, making a game on there almost will guarantee losing player base from the home console versions. I know I would stop playing on Xbox if they made MH for the switch with the same mechanics as world. Gameplay > Graphics.

Re: Capcom Is Bringing Monster Hunter XX to the Switch

UNSOLUTEDSALT

Well, there goes the neighborhood. This guarantees success in Japan. And I know I'm stoked as all can be. Great news for everybody.

Western release is all but confirmed. Considering the dev time bringing it to Switch, there's no reason to not localize it. I'm pretty sure they had some done already for the 3DS version.

Re: Review: Mr. Shifty (Switch eShop)

Wow. I've played and beaten the game and found it very enjoyable. The game never crashed and the stutters (which were pretty bad) on the last few levels didn't bother me much.

It's so fascinating, thinking how different people's views are about what's "unplayable."

Re: First Impressions: Going Hand-to-Hand With ARMS

UNSOLUTEDSALT

I'm hoping for games like this and Mario Kart Deluxe that they put that dang My Nintendo account to work and let us use our gold coins for discounts. And in the case of MK8Deluxe, a discount for previous Wii U owners. But we'll see. I really want more characters for this to be a better package.

Re: Poll: How Important is the Virtual Console, and GameCube, for the Nintendo Switch?

UNSOLUTEDSALT

Subscription service FTW! I recently bought and Xbox One and having only owned a Wii U, I didn't realize how cool games with gold is. But more to the point I also was given a free month of EA access. For $30 a year you have access to some older games from EA's library. Even some recent ones, like Battlefront.

But imagine if Nintendo and other publishers had this for the Switch. It would be awesome! I wouldn't mind paying $90 a year (assuming I subscribe to 3 services at $30/yr) for a great library of games that range from recent to older titles.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch Will Support Micro SDXC Cards Up To 128GB In Capacity

UNSOLUTEDSALT

I don't understand why more people don't

A) play at most 2 games at the same time so you don't overwhelm yourself
B) beat a game before starting another
C) delete digital games you aren't playing. You can back up save data for re-downloading.

I think we can all look at our steam backlogs to know we are going to run out of time in life before playing all those games.

128 GB + 32gb rumored on board doesn't sound bad. But I'll always take more.

Re: Nintendo Wants Mobile to be a "Pillar of Profit"

UNSOLUTEDSALT

This is fantastic news. They've only made one mobile app so far and I don't think it's reflective of the entire mobile strategy. With AC and FE focused on games, I think these apps could be fun. A side story for FE and maybe a way to collect/earn bells in AC that can be transferred to the main game.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of My Nintendo and Miitomo?

UNSOLUTEDSALT

These are pretty great considering they are a day and half old.

Miitomo is pretty great for me considering the kind of social circle I have. (read:very small) So I enjoy it and that it gives me Platinum coins to use on My Nintendo.

My Nintendo, and by extension Miitomo, are meant to incentivise purchase activity across Nintendo's platforms. Many complaints people have are exactly why Nintendo chose to make the reward program the way it is. Physical doesn't get points because you can get those cheaper/on sale most times anyway. Points expire because otherwise you aren't encouraged to buy a new game to keep your coin count up.

Nintendo is a business first and your best friend never. We support the big N out of choice and I personally don't mind. I don't mind having discounts on digital, I don't mind being able to afford about 4 - 6 games a year, and I don't mind getting enough coins to buy a few titles on my wishlist.

I also find it interesting that people want to add Miiverse friends considering the kinds of questions Miitomo asks. Its not "behind-closed-door" kind of stuff, but if you are this comfortable communicating with gaming friends they are more than likely your facebook friend as well and by extension are your Miitomo friend as well.

Re: Video: Early Pokémon Go Footage Shows Off AR Pocket Monster Catching

UNSOLUTEDSALT

I'm not sure Pokemon battles are what this game is for. Keep in mind that Nintendo still wants to sell Pokemon games.

But how about this? This app will link to the Pokemon bank and we can transfer the caught Pokemon to our 3ds or NX games. Legendaries and special events would require multiple trainers to catch like the super bowl ad suggests. So we aren't just grabbing legendaries like rocks from the ground.

Sounds neat and in line with what has been said so far. The apps will bring consumers to the games and vice versa.

I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th June (North America)

UNSOLUTEDSALT

I'm pretty torn. I want to get Toad Treasure Tracker or Fire Emblem: Awakening. But I'm not really a fan of turn-based combat, but I've heard that even if that's the case, FE:A is just THAT good.

I'm also on the fence about Hyrule Warriors. It seems like it would be a better handheld game due to it's hack n' slash nature. But I can't decide whether to get it on Wii U on sale or wait till 3DS...

decisions, decisions...

Re: Editorial: Cheer Up, There Are Some Exciting Games on the Way

UNSOLUTEDSALT

I was disappointed like everyone else the first day, but even then I really dug quite a few titles. I plan to check out some of the Nindies and that Neo Racing game now looks like a must buy after the Treehouse display.

I think it's important for people to realize that Nintendo isn't the only option for gaming and even though they did drop the ball at E3, if they are a company they want to see continue, then the customers need to support them by buying games. If not, then just let them fall by the wayside. But I can also guarantee that those that want to Nintendo to throw in the towel would be the first to cry that they are gone.

Just be cool and game on. On any system...

Re: Review: Pokémon Rumble World (3DS eShop)

UNSOLUTEDSALT

I really like this one. I'm not really into puzzle games, so Shuffle didn't do anything for me. But a plain beat 'em up is great for those times when I know I can't hash out a full fight in MH4U. But as a working father, short bursts of gaming suit me.

Re: Nintendo Lists Formally Tested Micro SDHC Cards for the New Nintendo 3DS

UNSOLUTEDSALT

Why don't people delete old software that they aren't using. The amount of 3ds games and eshop games that 32gb can hold is too much for one person to play at any given time. It's like having over 1000 friends on a social networking site. (FYI: A lot of those people aren't really your friends.)

I delete what I'm done playing and keep what I like to go back to from time to time.
