Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is just two weeks away, and Ubisoft is releasing regular videos to showcase the game. Over the past week it's released a couple of 'Character Spotlight' videos, which showcase how different characters bring important strengths to your squad.
First up a week ago was the Mario profile - he's always in your team of three, so it's worth getting familiar with his moveset.
The most recent video is for Rabbid Luigi, whose "great defensive and elemental skills make him the wizard every team needs".
We wrote about the importance of mastering different characters and their abilities in our Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle preview, and we're fascinated to see how the game's evident depth plays out in the final product. Are you planning to pick this up at the end of the month?

Nope, this is another game I'm avoiding like the plague. I want to experience it for myself not watch 10 to 25% of it on video!
I hope there's a way to select the Mario Characters only. I don't want to play as those dumb rabbids. lol
@Biff_ARMStrong My guess is you have to until you find all the Mario characters. Then if the party allows it maybe you can.
It looks great, as always.
Come on August 29th. I already added money to the eShop for this purchase.
This game looks so utterly charmless.
@Spoony_Tech I wish the game was called "Super Mario: Kingdom battle", scrap the dumb rabbids and instead we fight koopa troopa's, shy guys, etc. from the Mario series.
Looks great id like to see the return of smithy and company to mushroom kingdom.
And Geno and that marshmellow Mallow join in.
Meh, this is another Switch game Ill get used or when it goes on sale like Lego Undercover. They should have done Rayman or just about anything before rabbids.
Gotta love the haters.
How does it feel? Hating on a fictional character so much?
Is it good? Does it affect your everyday life?
Do you sometimes wake up to the realisation how incredibly silly that is?
I like everything I've seen about this, but I'm getting nervous that it will turn into "meta game over game." It looks like team, power, weapon decisions will take on complexity rivaling a deck building game. I don't know if I'll have the patience for that (though Nintendo is generally good about easing players in).
This game looks really good. Bet this sells more than ARMS this year.
Not bothered bout this one at all👎
My only beef with the game is that it has the same release date as the xcom 2 expansion.
Looks great; can't wait!
I still can't believe I'm excited for this. As long as the Rabbids aren't too annoying, I think the gameplay is right up my alley.
Really looking forward to this
This game came out of nowhere at E3, and ever since then I've been super excited to get it (: I didn't know I would ever play a Rabbids game in my life, but it's time for something new.
@ArmsManiac6 Well.. it came out of nowhere except for the giant leak before e3 But yes, it looks great.
I remember how funny it was watching Joshscorcher's reaction to Ubisoft's E3, what with RabbidLuigi (the youtuber) joking about how "the presentation is literally speaking to me".
I may pick this up, the rabbids part is what's holding me back.
What am I missing? This looks completely blah. Like Cars 3 or land before time XXIII. aimed at parents trying to keep kids busy with something that is more frenetic than fun.
totally open to being wrong. maybe rabbids just don't hit me.
This game is the reason I bought my Switch! The E3 showing blew me away and it convinced me on the spot I'd have to have a Switch to sit proudly with my PS4.
Sooo...not going to spoil it for myself and watch anymore videos
Ahem.... Allow me to sing this song.

Mario and Rabbid
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Mario and Rabbid...
Guys, this is "Beauty & the Beast" video game version.
Well, I know some of you don't like Rabbids (Me personally too), but...
Who could ever learn to love a Beast... I mean Rabbids ?
Rabbidluigi is still quite shocked he is in the game
@Biff_ARMStrong If Nintendo had made this all we would have got for players is a bunch of different colored Toads!
Game looks like the Mario RPG of the modern era. A turn based RPG Mario game crossed over with another series by a major 3rd party-Nintendo collaboration, and ends up an instant classic. Gosh dang this game looks good!
And I think I can officially say I like rabbids now. At least, I like the ones in this game anyways. Fantastic designs, they're not annoying, in fact they're actually endearing...
And I've been watching a lot of gameplay and impressions videos, and basically what everyone is saying is the game is legit. It's a real strategy game and it's no pushover, but at the same time it's not insanely difficult or frustrating... so yeah, it's basically perfect.
This game keeps growing on me. I'm luke warm to Rabbids but it seems like a quality strategy title.
Idk man the graphics are nice but the game is just not grabbing me yet...need to see more I guess.
Love turn-based strategy titles. Definitely buying this, unless it unexpectedly bombs its day-one reviews. I keep hearing from previewers that it's super fun though.
It looks good to my.I am buying it at launch or soon after.
Already preordered. I don't mind the rabbids. Had it not included Mario I would have hesitated but probably still ordered. More excited about this than I was Arms or Splatoon 2.
Not a fan of the genre, but might give strategy another chance with this game if it ever goes on sale.
I hope this game sells well for the sake of hyping up the switch but I gotta say the gameplay looks tedious... The visuals look awesome and the charm seems to be there but the gameplay not so much. I hope I'm wrong. Seems like a Blockbuster rental to me ;P
Also, this kind of reminds me of Code Name STEAM which didn't do too well :/
@speedracer216 How can a turn based game be "frenetic"?
Looks great, but those Rabbids will completely halt me buying it. They are almost as bad as minions, true you get to kill them, but not worth paying for a game, so therefore supporting their survival.
Mario with gun = WRONG!
@FTL Oh...I had no idea there was a leak haha
@dew12333
Well... Mii with Guns on Smash Bros are also Wrong ?
@Anti-Matter
Hadn't thought of that one, but yeah your right.
The dam gun looks just like Samus's gun so it should have been Metroid based. But that's not a big enough cash cow. And I'm still to see how Nintendo benefit from giving ubisoft their mascot?
Also how can it be Best Strategy Game 2017 and Best Game Critics Award winner 2017, when it hasn't even been released yet?
How much did Ubisoft pay for them those awards?
