Re: Natsume Has a New Sale Available on the eShop

Tiefseemiez

Pretty unfortunate für Europe. I would have tried Harvest Moon: A new Beginning if it was on sale here. Heard that that one was pretty alright and haven't played a Harvest Moon game since a long time.

Different question that I had for a while, but never dared to ask:
Why are the "Europe"-prices always in GBP?
That is not really helpful for the majority of Europeans.
Or well, it is as helpful as the Dollar-prices are already: Of course it gives you kind of direction.
Does Nintendo provide the information without giving Euro-prices?

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Responds to Criticism Over the Switch Launch Line-Up

Tiefseemiez

I love how some people are acting as if Nintendo's smallish launch line up is impacting their life in an immensely horrendous way. I have a huge backlog myself, so I'm not exactly bothered. And though I agree that there should probably more choice at launch for some people do stick a lot more to a certain genre than I do, I also think that Kimishimas strategy is more important than an impressive launch line up.
People just expect far too much and the communication on the internet even supports this kind of greed for more and more.
I seriously wish some people would be as passionate about society or whatever; I just hope they are and I just don't know.

Re: Random: Of Course You Can't Fit The Nintendo Switch In Your Pocket

Tiefseemiez

@gatorboi352
Did other consoles launch with such a big library?

"What is there to feel positive about?"
I feel positive about the whole concept of a home console to take on the go. Since I too have a job this is something that will be really useful since I can play on the train. During the last years I played my 3DS so much more than my Wii U, allthough I loved a lot of Wii U games but I hardly took the time to sit down at home for it apart from gaming-evenings with friends. When travelling my boyfriend and me certainly will enjoy the possibility of local multiplayer on the Switch a lot. The presentation had a couple of awkward moments and a couple of unspectacular ones (or lets say: a lot of them), but still I was faszinated by HD-rumble as a thing. Also there were some really interesting and innovative games presented. I especially love the concepts of Arms and Snipperclips, but also kind of like the idea behind 1...2...Switch!, even though we'll have to wait and see how much content there'll be. The teasers for Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem Warriors also caught my eye though they won't be released that soon. But I expect a couple of big surprise reveals during E3 anyway. The new Breath of the Wild trailer also looked amazing, aswell as Mario Odyssey. I like the modular nature of the console and the many control options. I like Splatoon 2 and most of the third party anouncements looked appealing to me aswell.

I understand the complaints about the pricing, but I do not feel ripped off, since I can see that there is a lot of complex tech involved in the console and it looks well manufactured. Since they had trouble with being accused of having manufactured the Wii U using child labour they most likely wanted to be sure this time not to get involved in dirty business like that. Which might also make the console more expensive. Okay, this might be a bit of a stretch. But I am willing to pay money for complex technology.

Re: Random: Of Course You Can't Fit The Nintendo Switch In Your Pocket

Tiefseemiez

@gatorboi352 I didn't criticise you expressing your opinion. I just recognised that there is a (usually pretty cynical) remark of you beneath nearly every post regarding the Switch and I simply think that it is a bit early for being that negative. There still is a lot information missing and while the launch lineup certainly isn't amazing this doesn't automatically mean there won't be any good games on the Switch.
The other reason I criticised you is that your opinions are usually expressed in a very generalising way.
I must admit that I only started recently to get interested in gaming or Nintendo specifically (since ~4 years). Even though I played some Nintendo games as a kid (I'm 26 now), I didn't have that much of a emotional connection to the company as I have now (which is pretty ridiculous I have to admit ^^).
So I got to ask: What ideals/features/... exactly are you missing in today's Nintendo?

Re: Random: Of Course You Can't Fit The Nintendo Switch In Your Pocket

Tiefseemiez

@gatorboi352 If the Switch isn't for you anyway then why do you've got to complain beneath every post on this site that the Switch will fail and is a horrible system? Can't you imagine that, even though it might not be a console you would want, other people might like it?
Some of your complains certainly are well founded and I agree that there are some concerns regarding the system, but I think there might be things to come and that it's wrong to totally dismiss the console at this early stage.

Re: Pocket Card Jockey Comes to North America on 5th May

Tiefseemiez

I found the artwork and strangeness of the concept quite interesting. The demo made me absolutely obsessed.
Though I lost all the time after the tutorial races and didn't quit get, what I did wrong. The hints that the horse gave were sometimes on point, but sometimes I had the feeling that I hardly could have improved on those things.
Will getting it as soon as it arrives though.

Re: Site News: Welcome To The Brand New Nintendo Life!

Tiefseemiez

Changes are good. And it probably is nice that you added a lot of new features. But I don't like the layout at all. I always loved nintendolife as my one and only go-to-page for gaming news for its purist design. Now there is just too much everywhere for me and the colour is pretty aggressive.
I don't want to complain since a lot of people seem to love it, but I probably won't be around that often anymore. =/
Though I hope to get used to it.

Re: Video: Catch Up With All The Super Smash Bros. Final Presentation Footage

Tiefseemiez

@Azooooz
That's an easy one: To give people more substance to complain about! ;-]
If people saw that Shovel Knight came in first in NA and somewhere in the TOP 5 in EU, they would start complaining why he didn't get chosen.
I too think that Shovel Knight probably could have been included, but I think they would have had to imagine too many moves for him and that this might be the reason for not including him.
I voted for, but didn't expect Bayonetta. I think he was one of the characters most suited for the inclusion.
When seeing the inclusion of that other FE-character I already expected people to hate on it. And to be fair, it's not really as if that series needed that many representatives while more popular franchises don't get any.
On the other hand I like FE and this character seems to have an awesome moveset. They could have pushed that character to the next SSB, but maybe that was too distant compared to FE:Fs close release.
I don't like the design of Cloud and since I never played a FF game, I don't have any sympathy for him. Though his stage looks great!
So far I only downloaded Mewtu (more because of boredom and Pokemonfandom than anything), but Bayonetta and that FE-guy will join my roster for sure!

Re: Evergreen Nintendo Releases Hang Tough in the UK as Xenoblade Chronicles X Tumbles Out of Top 40

Tiefseemiez

Well, maybe. But I always wonder how a massive and high quality game like this can afford to fail. Was wondering this with Bayonetta 2 too (especially because it was sold that cheap).
I have no idea how expensive production was and how much money they make, but since every other 3rd party developer complains about Wii Us market being so small?
Those games seem to me much more costy than it would be to port one of the many AAA games, for example (speaking of PS3-generation games).

Re: Nintendo Download: 17th December (Europe)

Tiefseemiez

Some of the sales will make me feel pretty guilty for paying that little. I am especially looking at the Curve discounts. Not that I am going to play those games, since I have too much backlog on 3DS and Wii U anyway. But those prices are impossible to resist.

Re: Feature: Our Top 10 Wii U eShop Games - Third Anniversary Edition

Tiefseemiez

Interesting list!
Though I am surprised that neither The Swapper nor Stealth Inc. nor Little Inferno (though admittedly this isn't that top notch, but charming) nor Trine made it.
Personally I downloaded a lot of games, but hardly played any. I liked Little Inferno and finished it. Oh Child of Light! This one is missing too! I played halfway through, but didn't continue since I had to change USB-sticks. ^^
But I loved its style.
Games that weren't for me were Trine 2, Scram Kitty and Tengami.
The game that my vote went to was Don't Starve, which I did only play once on Wii U to check what the controls are like; but I have it on PC and love it.
I'm glad that this game made its way on the list, since I have the feeling that many Wii U owners aren't aware of this titles greatness.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Is Receiving A High-Definition Face Lift

Tiefseemiez

I like how it looks and I like the Wolf Link amiibo. Though I wonder how it will be implemented. And if it is true that some data can be transferred to Zelda U, I wonder what it is. Though I think I remember Aonuma said that Zelda U won't get amiibo support (or do I mistake this info with something he said about Majoras Mask?
I bought the Wii version last year and was pretty shocked how aged even the intro looked. I think a lot of you remember the game prettier than it was.
(I too have a memory of Pokemon Stadium looking absuletely photorealistic and am quite scared of the truth. )
What I do agree on is that they should have remodelt parts of the world. The castle and that mountain area he rides past look way to poligony for a port like that.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Is Receiving A High-Definition Face Lift

Tiefseemiez

@JedRock
Lol. Me too. It is really bad.
I generally hardly play any adventure-type games on my Wii U.
I usually start them, love them and then return to playing Splatoon/MK8/SSB anyway. On handheld I'm trying really hard to play Majoras Mask and Ocarina of Time. Still have to return to Link between Worlds, too. I lack the patience to finish them.
But at least in OoT I am further than I ever was in a Zelda game.
I started not finishing Zelda games at a pretty young age: I had Link's Awakening Dx when I was 7 years old and never even managed to beat the first dungeon. Instead I restarted it pretty often, because I liked the games charme, but apparently was too scared to even try the more difficult passages.
Instead I watched a guy at school playing it for me. I was pretty faszinated how far he got. ^^

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th November (Europe)

Tiefseemiez

I'll probably get Affordable Space Adventures.
The discount is minimal, but enough to give me that final impulse. ;-]
After watching the gameplay footage of Rodea on the NL-channel, I will probably never get that game. I was pretty surprised how poorly executed it looked after the preview was pretty nice.
Still going to read the review to be sure, but it just didn't catch my eye so far...

Re: Nintendo Download: 6th November (Europe)

Tiefseemiez

@FX102A
Agree with you.
Sure some sales get repeated a lot and if you already got the game, this is of no value to you, but there are also plenty of people that might not have gotten it. Apart from that I can hardly believe that there are people that seriously lack things to play if the update doesn't suite them. And even if: there is still the world outside, friends, books, music, ... so ... nothing to whine about. ;-]

Re: Michael Pachter Thinks Miitomo Will Have Trouble Tempting People Away From Facebook

Tiefseemiez

Lol. Never knew why everyone hated Pachter until now.
How can he be so determined if there is hardly any information on the app?
If it has a lot of quirky elements like Tomodachi Life, it has a lot of potential, even in the west.
Apart from that I think that you have to see this in correlation to the japanese culture. People are a lot more introvert over there (therefore the popularity of dating sims, e.g); I think this app was made with that society in mind. But if it is well done, it might succeed elsewhere.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th October (Europe)

Tiefseemiez

What an awesome week!
I will try the Zip Lash demo and make my boyfriend try the Fatal Frame demo.
Probably I will buy Tekken Tag Tournament at this price.
I am also into buying Binding of Isaac for 3DS and maybe even Project X Zone (I tried the demo and didn't really enjoy it; I don't really have a relationship to any of the characters, but I heard a lot of praise about the series...).
And I will totally get Record Breaker physically!!

Re: Genei Ibun Roku #FE Directors Reveal More Details About the Game

Tiefseemiez

I pretty much love the idea that you summon the Fire Emblem characters as ghosts to fight for you in battle.
It fits both series well I think and gives the cheerful visuals of this game a dark counterpart.
I only played Devil Survivor Overclocked and Persona Q of all SMT games, but I think this story-choice is rather typical and that their stories were all a bit "silly" as someone called it. I mean in DSO they summon demons with their mobile phones and via singing and in PQ they fight demons in a parallel dimension in their school while regularly apparently fighting demons in TVs. What did you expect? At this stage this seems to be one of the more logical stories.

Re: The Wii U's Broad Audience Means Star Fox Zero's Delay Won't Matter, Says Nintendo UK

Tiefseemiez

@gatorboi352 @Protocol_Penguin
What purpose do you visit this page for anyway? Just trolling?
I think they mean that the Wii U audience is broad regarding to the genres they like. There is no game they could release that would cater to the whole audience.
Anyway, I think both of you are aware that there are quite a lot of people who own and love their Wii U and don't fit in the two categories you mentioned.

Re: The Wii U's Broad Audience Means Star Fox Zero's Delay Won't Matter, Says Nintendo UK

Tiefseemiez

@MarvinTheMartian
True! I am not very picky, when it comes to games. I didn't even glimpse at the other consoles for I have a 3DS and am very open minded towards genres. Even if you like a genre that Nintendo caters a lot to, like platformers, there are HUGE droughts.
I think those that like shooters and action games do have a psone or pc anyway instead or additionally to their Wii U.

Re: The Wii U's Broad Audience Means Star Fox Zero's Delay Won't Matter, Says Nintendo UK

Tiefseemiez

@MrGawain Wow! How do you have the time to play that many games?
I am already scared of receiving my copy of Xenoblade Chronicles X for I know I will never have enough time to play this game.
I hardly finished any Wii U title so far. Or to be honest I seriously only finished Little Inferno and didn't even do all the combinations. So maybe I am kind of on the opposite site of the user base.
I mainly play Wii U with friends, so it's basically the multiplayer games that get my attention.

Re: Rumour: Data Miner Uncovers Evidence Of Twilight Princess On Nintendo's Wii U eShop

Tiefseemiez

@OorWullie You expressed it better than I did.
The idea in your last paragraph scares me, since it would make the Wii U the only Nintendo console without a unique Zelda title. This would mark it even more as a black sheep and cause a riot with or without Twilight Princess HD.
I cannot imagine them doing this to us.
Twilight Princess HD on Wii U wouldn't be that much of a solace, since it is playable on the console anyway.

Re: Rumour: Data Miner Uncovers Evidence Of Twilight Princess On Nintendo's Wii U eShop

Tiefseemiez

Why does everyone think this would be an HD remake at all?
If it is listed on the eshop it is by FAR more likely that this will arrive on the eShop as a rerelease than a remake. Otherwise why would they have taken the risk of someone finding data of a title that hasn't even been announced yet, probably won't be released within the next three months (otherwise this would have been E3-material) and would normally be announced in a surprising and hypestatic way.

Re: Preview: Fabulous Fashion and Questionable Game Design in The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

Tiefseemiez

I love how charming this game is. I love the artstyle seen in the trailers and hope the game comes with this sort of picture-book-story-telling aswell.
Probably I'm going to play this online a lot, since I think that will be the most fun to be had with this title. I imagine the challenge of communication will be even more fun online than with local multiplayer (as long as there isn't some total idiot in the team).
Love the costumes too, it's kind of a cute version of the masks in the other games.

Re: Human Resource Machine Coming To Wii U Soon

Tiefseemiez

@Mrclaycoat Same here. I made the mistake not going by order in my first attempt. That makes it even harder to figure out what needs to be combined, since you don't have the restriction of availability (which you have for quite some time if you finish the list before you unlock the next catalogue). Maybe I have to restart.
