For those of you that are unfamiliar with Pokémon, Ditto is a very popular Pokémon for, erm, breeding purposes. Essentially, Ditto is just a big, purple blob that's capable of assuming the form of any Pokémon it chooses, copying nearly everything about it. Of course – when Ditto is in its standard form – it's virtually featureless, save for the simple smile on its plain face. And now, we get a chance to see what that face would look like on other Pokémon.
It was recently announced that The Pokémon Company will soon be opening pre-orders for Ditto themed Pikachu, Clefairy, Bulbasuar, Charmander, and Squirtle plushie toys. The toys will release on 2nd April and will come in plushie and keychain styles, for 1,200 yen and 800 yen, respectively. Whether more Pokémon will get this treatment still remains to be seen, but you can place pre-orders on the Japanese Pokémon Store Amazon page here starting on 26th March.

Next stop, MissingNo plushies!
I remember those Bulbasaur Dittos from Pokemon Snap.
This is brilliant. XD
Beautiful! I'll probably buy a keychain.
The default NL avatar: Pokemon Edition
Step 1: Take Ditto face.
Step 2: Put face on anything and it becomes Ditto.
Step 3: IT SELLS MILLIONS!!!
Step 4: Take shower in money.
How do these manage to be both so cute yet also creepy at the same time?
where's the quagsire ditto plushie?
Me and a friend was discussing the... ahem... abuse dittos have suffered in the games (seriously had one going since Fire Red) and the solution we had was to make all Ditto children have that face. no other changes, just the face.
Went on a trip to Japan in autumn and got a couple of Ditto-Pikachus there. Ditto-Pikachu is already available for some time, but a different version. It additionally holds an ice cream cone that has Pikachu-ears and a Pikachu-tail. Yes, the ice cream cone.
Bulbasaur looks evil.
I wish they looked like that in the games.
Yes I will collect them all and add them to my Amiibo collection
GIMME!!!
I had no idea there was anything different about them until I read the article, only Charizard looked a little off to me. (Probably b/c it's Charmander and not Charizard.)
Showed my tablet to my kid and he took a step back and said "Whoa". I asked him "What?" and he said "They're all Ditto." So I guess they're good.
As soon as I saw these I thought "Someone tell Barry from GameGrumps" lol I know he was talking about wanting plus hikes of Ditto as other Pokemon. I might have to buy these too. They're so cute
Ha ha they're so cute! Showed my daughter and she declared that she needed all of them. But I have no idea how much 800-1200 yen is.
@Tempestryke around $8-$12 in US.
These look adorable, I want at least the Pikachu and Squirtle.
@Smash_kirby
Thank you for helping me out. That's definitely doable. :3
@Tempestryke It is almost a 100 yen to one dollar, give or take 20 yen
Cute! I like Bulbasaur the most!
@Smash_kirby
That sounds pretty easy to remember.
@edgedino you could just buy a normal ditto plushie lol
@edgedino I mean normal Quagsire
Ditto face is always unfortunate implications to me. It's like dating someone with whatever your idea of the perfect body is with a derp face. How ditto is the cassanova of pokemon is beyond me.
Ha, taken right out of the first season Pokemon episode where a girl's Ditto is able to transform into any Pokemon perfectly--except for the face, which it masters by the end of the episode. (The most awesome part of that episode is when Ash, Misty, Brock, and the girl dress up as Team Rocket and say their whole intro right in front of them, infuriating Jessie and James--and then afterward in the background you can hear them saying, "That was great to do the whole thing!" "Now I know why they like saying all that dumb stuff so much--it's fun!")
That girl is Duplica.
Oh my lord these are so cute!

We're probably mostly adults or late-teens here Breeding isn't a naughty word.
These are adorable
That Bulbasaur is mine!
