Though its release is still down for 'later this year', Dotemu has been filling in the details on the Mr X Nightmare DLC, a paid option that'll arrive alongside some free updates for Streets of Rage 4. It'll feature new music from Tee Lopes, a 'Survival' mode and three new playable fighters.
So far we've had confirmation of Estel Aguirre and Max Thunder as playable additions, and the third (and final) DLC character has been revealed. It's Shiva, a favourite foe in the series that looks rather fun to control.
Considering the steady roll-out of character reveals for the DLC, we hope its release isn't too far away. While we wait for its arrival let us know what you think of the new playable character roster down in the comments.

@ThomasBW84 Do you think we'll see a new physical release? I'd prefer a cartridge with the DLC on it!
@MarioBrickLayer To be clear I have zero info, but I'd be surprised if there isn't some kind of physical edition at some point, maybe one that includes the DLC as well.
Just give me the release date!! Or, Better, just release this DLC!!
i love those guys with their hands always in the pockets..........so ridiculous!
DLC is looking good! My only complaint is no playable Roo but oh well what are you gonna do.
@majinx07 maybe in the next game, It was too much work to do for this DLC, they already had the base done for the 3 new playable characters...
Looks amazing.
JUST GIVE IT TO US ALREADY!!!!!!! (And then get to work on a new GOLDEN AXE or SHINOBI)
I'm curious - do many people play this online or do you guys mostly play single player?
Aww yeah, that's what I was hoping to see! Looks like they even added his Final Crash special move into his moveset, which IIRC he was lacking in his SOR4 boss fight.
Rad
I just want ROO
@ThomasBW84 To fill you in, there has been at least two physical releases of Streets of Rage 4, one of them was from Limited Run Games. Currently neither of those include the DLC.
Fingers crossed for a surprise beyond the three obvious candidates... not that the DLC needs anything else to be decent quality, I just like surprises.
Can't companies wait to do a limited run games print, till they have completed the game 100% and done all the dlc?
Yo, Shiva can parry projectiles!?
When's this coming out, I'm kind of hyped for this already.
Hurry up with the release! My most anticipated game of the year.
I bet he’ll be fun to use.
@shake_zula
Singleplayer.
Couch coop would be my go to multiplayer with such Games.
All that's missing from the trailer is a release date.
