Re: 8 Years Ago Today, We First Got Our Hands On Nintendo Switch

TheUnrestCure

Goodness. If it takes 8 more years for a Switch 3 I'll be an almost- 60 year old gamer by then!?!?

I can remember the Wii U launch with a bit more emotion as in-store stuff was still big then. By the time the Switch rolled around there weren't any lines; I picked up my pre-order on my lunch and that was that.

Re: Activision Officially Announces Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6

TheUnrestCure

While I would look forward to a Blops6 on the Switch, I actually would rather see a different collection released on it so it has its own playerbase. Something like a re-master of multiplayer Blops 1 & 2 or even just the zombie maps from them would be great! Or my dream: a re-master of the online Spec Ops co-op modes from the og Modern Warfares (ALL of them)! To be honest, there are going to be much better options (for many of us that own multiple consoles) to play Blops6 on rather than Switch, but a unique collection just for Switch (or Switch 2) would incentivize players to play on it rather than the other more powerful consoles/pc.

Re: 3DS And Wii U Users Say Goodbye To Online Play

TheUnrestCure

The older I get, the faster these moments sneak up on me. Sadly, the glory days of Wii U Call of Duty had already ended, but I will truly miss the pleasant CoD experience with fun and kind people back in the day. It was fun, and there are just too few experiences to replace it nowadays.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase?

TheUnrestCure

This was a 10/10, easy. I know that not everyone was excited by this direct, but considering it was mostly hope that something interesting would come out to see what actually did is astonishing. Pocket Jockey, Suika dlc/multiplayer (!), Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2, & Endless Ocean are all games I have just bought today or will be buying by launch.

Re: Call Of Duty On Switch Is Back On After Microsoft Wins FTC Court Case

TheUnrestCure

Ironically, I would love to see Nintendo "splash the cash" to MS/Activision and get a unique release of Black Ops Zombies maps that is Nintendo exclusive. The other consoles got the BlOps3 Zombie Chronicles, so something like that gathering the Black Ops 1-3 (4?) Zombie maps into one collection would be great. While that is clearly not the same as a new Day One Call of Duty release it would be fun and potentially draw non-Switch players into the Nintendo ecosystem. I'm sure to do so, though, Nintendo would need to compensate MS for the exclusivity.

Re: Feature: Call Of Duty On Nintendo Systems - A Brief History

TheUnrestCure

I never played on the Wii - I missed all the gaming between PS1 and the Xbox 360 - but I did play both games on the Wii U, and enjoyed them quite a bit. Nintendo online gamers were generally much more patient and less tryhard than those on the other consoles. I'd certainly play on the Switch, particularly if MS/Activision released a complete Zombies Chronicles with online matchmaking, or (gasp) Share Play so I could play with my sons on their Switches. That would be truly epic for this old dad.

Re: QubicGames Celebrates 19th Birthday With Huge Discount On Over 50 Switch Games (US)

TheUnrestCure

While Nintendo may be onto something by not pricing their first party titles in some kind of "race to the bottom" it is very disheartening to read posters claiming all these games are garbage. While the QubicGames backcatalogue may not entirely be my flavor (which publisher IS?) these games represent somebody's honest effort to entertain and to say they are trash says far more about the commenter than it does the publisher & games.

Re: Best Of 2022: After 10 Years I Finally Got A Wii U, Here’s What I Thought

TheUnrestCure

Has no one mentioned the Wii U game discs and their luscious curved edges??? Truly revolutionary and well worth the cost of the console.

Jest aside, I still have my Day One Wii U (in white, natch) hooked up and still buy games for it on the VC and on disc. Some of my best gaming memories PERIOD were on the Wii U, whether local multiplayer (like Nintendo Land and that one killer mode in Zombi U!) or online (the best CoD communities have always been on Nintendo) or just surfing the Miiverse. Good times for this 37-years-old-at-launch gamer. And now I feel really old ...

Re: Talking Point: Are You Excited To See Call Of Duty Return To Nintendo Platforms?

TheUnrestCure

I'm not too sure we'd ever be getting full new releases, but I could see them putting together some re-releases that are Switch-only (which would be good for both Activision and Nintendo) like the old MW or Black Ops series. Or releasing the BO3-spin off Zombie Chronicles on Switch. Probably will just be CoD Mobile, sadly. But I'd love any with some co-op/competitive multiplayer functionality. Some of my best multiplayer memories are Call of Duty on Wii U.
