The Serpent Rogue is a rather intriguing title that was revealed last September, a 'sandbox roguelike' in a medieval setting with some eye-catching visuals. Developed by Sengi and published by Team17, it's now confirmed to be coming to Switch and other platforms on 26th April.
You can get a good feel for it in the release announcement trailer above, and some of the official description is below.
Alchemy is one of the key ingredients in The Serpent Rogue’s gameplay and mastering it will be pivotal to The Warden’s success; collect and research ingredients to unveil their uses, experiment with different mixtures to craft unique potions, and use those concoctions in a variety of ways to progress through the everchanging world. Each action The Warden takes has an effect on the wider world; for instance, if too many items are left littered around an area, rodents will arrive en masse to cause havoc; if bodies are left unburied, ghouls will be lured by their scent leaving death and destruction in their wake.
- Sandbox roguelike: Explore the mysterious world of The Serpent Rogue; locations and items are randomised by storms that sweep the land
- Permutations aplenty: Utilise the magic and crafting of alchemy to create new tactics to overcome the many threats and situations created by the Corruption
- Cause and effect: The Warden’s actions have consequences that can be used to their advantage; but will they become the hero of the tale… or the villain?
While not everyone is necessarily a fan of roguelike games, the world and the extensive crafting / alchemy look rather intriguing to us.

Aren't those the NFT terribads?
I like the looks of it and if done right shouldn't need too huge of a visual downgrade for Switch. Will keep my eye on it to see how it reviews.
@BluFenix No, they did a 180 on NFTs for the time being due to outlash and people not wanting to work with them anymore after the announcement.
I tried this out for a bit on Steam (there's a demo). Really didn't care for the camera controls.
Looks like a mysteriously fun game, I like the transformation feature. May definitely checking it out this April.
@BluFenix Oh my god, even if - Team17 was doing NFTs yeah. But this game is not an NFT. The developers are not NFTs.
I totally get where you're coming from but i'm afraid we would just hurt the cause if we boycott games, instead of NFTs. People boycotted EAs lootbox ***** - they saw that and made a singleplayer Star Wars adventure game and everybody liked it. They decide what to make based on what sells. And it saddens me to think that a developer works their ass off to create a fun experience, just for people to end up not buy it.
In short: Buy games to show publisher you want games - don't buy NFTs to show publisher you don't want NFTs. Simple.
the problem with crafting to learn games is that you only have so many resources and you end up at a certain point saving the game and trying, then reloading, trying again, etc etc because getting rare ingredients are well, rare and people's time is even more rare.
