@insertcoin2play I’d like to have the option to decide on that myself. I would be ok using the ‘vanilla’ SNES controller in conjunction with a Joycon if that means saving money.
It’s a good basketball game at its core. However, it might as well be Free to Play, given all the microtransactions and heavy grind requirements. I picked it up, at Best Buy’s GCU discount, but will be trading it for something else. The Switch version runs at 30 FPS with dips and the load times are horrendous. Not to mention the required 30 GB day one install for physical copies.
Nintendo [won’t, but] should publish the target framerate in the Directs going forward. What are we gonna get, sub 30 FPS? I’ll only consider if we have a stable 30 minimum. Otherwise, I’ll stick to Steam.
I feel like Sept 20th is the big release date for Nintendo. So, a Nintendo Direct corresponding makes common sense. It almost seems like the Switch Lite was primed for the SNES catalogue due to the smaller screen. Here’s hoping SNES games will launch aside it.
C’mon man. Nintendo needs to stop with these lackluster games. Surely they track user playtimes. I bet the average Nintendo Online user plays these games no more than an hour. The only games I think are worth playing are Punch-Out, Super Mario Bros. 3, and Kirby. Everything else is bone dry boredom.
For the Switch Pro? Because current gen Madden, NBA Live, Battlefield, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, etc. won’t run good (or at all) on the current Switch. They need to invest in ports of classic games or new Indies for Switch.
I think the acclaimed platformer "A Hat in Time" was a leak. I think it'll be a good addition to the Switch library. I hope we get an update for Bloodstained; a stable framerate update would be great. I hope they announce SNES games for the online service. Maybe, they'll show the Switch Lite in action a little more too.
Now, this piques my interest! The Switch would be a great platform considering the multiple functions for multiplayer. I just hope a sequel would get a "real" upgrade considering such a long wait.
I love this series. It has one of the best “gangster” plots in gaming. Well acted and directed. I think it gets ported to Switch eventually. Why wouldn’t it?
I bought it on Steam a good while back. The monochrome aesthetic works well. I haven't played enough of it to review, but it's widely acclaimed. I'd rebuy it for Switch (...or IOS) to play it on a portable.
Didn't a previous post reveal that the Switch version will cost less than PS4 and X1? I hope the lack of a "Switch Tax" wasn't due to this foreknowledge. No reason why this shouldn't be able to hit a stable 30 fps on Switch.
And we thought the Witcher 3 port rumors were crazy. RDR2 on Switch is insane. These games would have to be Switch Pro exclusives. With all of these data dribs, I hope they come together as true information. Because, it would imply that the Switch Pro will be on par with PS4 and Xbox One, which is awesome. I would buy it for sure.
I must say I’m intrigued. They recently hired Jade Raymond. This suggests to me that they’re aiming for the core gaming market. Some Triple A exclusives might be primed. Also, they already have a handle on casual games via Google Play. Starting today, Microsoft now allows streaming from PC to Xbox. Valve just announced Steam links to mobile devices. This sounds like “insider” reactionary moves to me, given the timing.
I think the Google system will allow users to download and stream games to any device with Google Play.
@WhiteTrashGuy once you watch that wumbo guy's YouTube expert videos you realize you must dedicate all your gaming time to Tetris to earn 1st. I deleted it off Switch.
I'm playing Anthem, Vesperia, Trails of Cold Steel, and Devil May Cry 5.
I think the 3DS can and should continue. I prefer it over Switch for dungeon crawlers and other obscure RPGs. Also, how easy would it be for Nintendo to bring the newly announced Links’s Awakening to 3ds too?
@Aneira They’re probably banking on people wanting a physical copy of this to coincide with the upcoming Ritual of the Night physical release. Personally, this is an easy pass for me. Interestingly, I’ve noticed multiple publishers (LRG and 505) posting this game for preorder.
Now I'm curious, as I've selected the Switch version for my Kickstarter reward. I hope the Switch version isn't an "inferior" version, in terms of content and graphic fidelity.
Hopefully, everyone realizes that this is just the beginning of a singular streaming-based gaming future. I'm not excited. But, I'll take Xbox system achievements for Switch games please.
It took, what felt like, forever for my physical PS4 and Vita copies from Limited Run Games to arrive. It looks like they opted for a different publisher this time. Hopefully they expedite the release and shipping for the Switch version.
@kopaka you’re right. Flagship titles that established themselves throughout the years are exempt. Similar 2nd and 3rd party games, released in similar windows, will get cannibalized. Look at Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 for example. One sold well while the other tanked.

Re: If You Want NieR: Automata Ported To Nintendo Switch "Please Ask Square Enix"
Only if it’s a stable 60 FPS and doesn’t look like a downgraded PS2 game. Hire CD Projekt Red.

Re: Reminder: Wireless SNES Controllers For Switch Online Can Now Be Purchased (North America)
No thanks. Why can’t we use the SNES controllers from the mini? All it would need is a converter.

Re: Return Of The Obra Dinn Drifts Onto Nintendo Switch Later This Year
Still collecting virtual dust in my Steam library. I’ll probably repurchase for Switch. The game is critically acclaimed.

Way too kiddy!
Re: Little Town Hero, The Next Game From The Creators Of Pokémon, Arrives In October

Re: Dante Returns To Switch In Devil May Cry 2 On 19th September, Pre-Purchase Now

Re: Poll: Have You Ever Had Problems With Nintendo Hardware?
The WiFi connection was faulty in my launch Switch. I could barely download anything. I also experienced drifting with the Joy-Cons.

Re: Super Rare Games Announces A Handful Of Physical Releases For Nintendo Switch
Meh.
These games don't warrant a physical release imo. Give us more substantial releases like: Okami, Wargroove, Phoenix Wright, etc.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 23rd)
Cuphead. (I can just put 2 Joycons next to my TV)
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (Xbox One X)
The Division 2 (PS4)
Yakuza 0
Tales of Vesperia DE
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (March 16th)
The Division 2. Switch could really use a game like that.

Re: PlatinumGames Still "Hard At Work" Developing Bayonetta 3
@kopaka From a business perspective, spacing out titles is the best strategy. It gives both games time to “breathe” and sell.
Re: PlatinumGames Still "Hard At Work" Developing Bayonetta 3
@kopaka considering Astral Chains is hitting in August, this is most likely being held for a 2020 launch.

One of the best Indies on Switch keeps getting better.
