Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

Starrebirth

@PanurgeJr Is their a law that Nintendo must mimic Sony or Microsoft? I don't think so. Nintendo can create their own canvas, Kirby style. And secondly, I'm not one for dumb achievements like popping 10 balloons. However, thoughtful achievements that help guide to better experiences are great.

@PanurgeJr An achievement system doesn’t need to be mandated. However, Nintendo should implement the system and give devs a choice to utilize it. I think achievements add to a player’s overall experience with games. Some gameplays schemes might go completely unplayed without the achievement hint system. Plus, they offer lasting/enjoyed memories.

This Direct will suffice but I was underwhelmed. A lot of it seemed like shovelware. Square-Enid appears to be jumping on the cash grab train. Only Final Fantasy 12 looks like a worthwhile port. Luigi’s Mansion 3 was a pleasant surprise. Cities Skyline and Civ 6 look like horrible ports. Mario Party looks to par, not incredible. Game Freak’s new RPG looks interesting. Still no achievement system to correlate with the online service. Daemon X Machina is the show highlight for me.

Re: Capcom Tight-Lipped About Resident Evil 6 Wii U

Starrebirth

The Wii U will launch around the same time as RE6. Forget the speculation, this is inevitable. It'll probably be confirmed at E3.The Wii U' s touch screen could be used in meaningful ways for RE6 (inventory management, different camera angles etc).

Re: New Elements Planned for Mario Kart on the 3DS

I agree with the previous comments regarding the 'rubber band' setup; the new version should allow players to turn on/off this play scheme, but it shouldn't be the only way to play. Also, Mario Kart 3DS should implement a user created feature, similar to Modnation Racers, where users can create their own levels.

Re: Crush 3D to Flatten Your 3DS

I never finished the PSP version, but Crush is a good game. However, I hope Sega will add some extra levels to this game to merit the $40 price, especially for those that completed a good percentage of the game on the PSP.

Re: Rumour: Wii 2 has Blu-ray Drive, Controller Contains a Screen

Starrebirth

If true, this sounds intriguing. A wii sensor-like bar on the controller? Hmm... I wonder if this will allow the controller to detect hand gestures or face movement via an added attachment. I'm also hoping for 3DS functionality. Blu-Ray is the future disc format for the time-being, so I hope it's true. Hopefully, Nintendo launches this with a decent size hard drive. They shouldn't name this console the Wii 2; I would prefer SNES 2. Nevertheless, this year's E3 will be big for Nintendo.
