I picked up a ton of games on sale this weekend. Here’s my playlist: -Horizon Zero Dawn -Forza Horizon 4 (on sale for $30) -Runner 3 (E-Shop sale for $10) -Battlefield 5 -Red Dead Redemption 2 -Okami -Tetris Effect
@Mamabear Now that's impossible given the scope and detail of that game, plus the dynamic systems at play. I wouldn't mind a port of GTA 4 and 5 though. Or better yet, give us an exclusive Rockstar game!
@PanurgeJr Is their a law that Nintendo must mimic Sony or Microsoft? I don't think so. Nintendo can create their own canvas, Kirby style. And secondly, I'm not one for dumb achievements like popping 10 balloons. However, thoughtful achievements that help guide to better experiences are great.
@PanurgeJr An achievement system doesn’t need to be mandated. However, Nintendo should implement the system and give devs a choice to utilize it. I think achievements add to a player’s overall experience with games. Some gameplays schemes might go completely unplayed without the achievement hint system. Plus, they offer lasting/enjoyed memories.
This Direct will suffice but I was underwhelmed. A lot of it seemed like shovelware. Square-Enid appears to be jumping on the cash grab train. Only Final Fantasy 12 looks like a worthwhile port. Luigi’s Mansion 3 was a pleasant surprise. Cities Skyline and Civ 6 look like horrible ports. Mario Party looks to par, not incredible. Game Freak’s new RPG looks interesting. Still no achievement system to correlate with the online service. Daemon X Machina is the show highlight for me.
Why doesn’t Ubisoft create a Switch exclusive Assassin’s Creed? They could use a modified engine from Assassin’s Creed Rogue to run well on the Switch. This way, there wouldn’t be a need to stream via cloud services. I doubt the steaming service will hit the West.
I'm trying to finish Assassin's Creed Origins (50 hours in) before Odyssey comes out. That game is great. Plus, the graphics in 4K are unreal on the Xbox One X. I picked up Spider-Man. I've been playing Divinity Original Sin 2. The Mega man 11 demo. Xenoblade 2. Metroid 2 Samus Returns. You get the gist?
I really enjoyed the demo. Sounds like the game is coming along nicely. However, with all these changes, I wonder if it’ll make its 2018 release window.
I don’t mind the hosts. But, why did it take this long for a second episode? They really need to get Jose from IGN to jump on this podcast. Also, it would’ve been nice to have some more discussion on triple A Switch games.
I’m still trying to find enjoyment out of Stardew Valley. I’m finding the beginning pretty boring; I can’t keep my eyes open at night in bed. Here’s hoping it gets WAY better. Also, considering Rocket Leahue launched in November, it probably would’ve been #1 on our list. Graceful Explosion Machine should be higher too.
People should buy FIFA 18, WWE 2k18, and NBA 2k18 - so we can support the devs and publishers enough to warrant further releases. Other than that, I'm planning on buying: Super Mario Odyssey and Azure Striker. I already own Axiom Verge on PS4.
I'll pass. I already own the collectors edition on PC, which includes the soundtrack. I also own the PS4 version. It's a great game; I need to go back and finish it.
The Wii U will launch around the same time as RE6. Forget the speculation, this is inevitable. It'll probably be confirmed at E3.The Wii U' s touch screen could be used in meaningful ways for RE6 (inventory management, different camera angles etc).
Considering that ready-to-go PS3 and Xbox 360 bundles will be available for under $200 when the Wii U launches, I think the market price will $250 or less. The accessories should be priced affordably as well, unlike the Wii when it launched.
I agree that it may be too late, unless the Wii U has a steady release of incredible software that distinguishes it from the PS3 or Xbox 360. Also, the price point will be a huge factor in determining its success.
@Oregano. I totally agree. Nintendo also needs to make a variety of bundles to get 3DS sales rolling (Zelda bundle, Kid Icarus bundle, Metal Gear Solid bundle, and Mario Kart, Mario 3DS, or genre bundles like fighting etc.)
Okay...I can wait a few more weeks. Hopefully Nintendo makes the first major update worthwhile; here's hoping the internet browser and E-shop function well.
I agree with the previous comments regarding the 'rubber band' setup; the new version should allow players to turn on/off this play scheme, but it shouldn't be the only way to play. Also, Mario Kart 3DS should implement a user created feature, similar to Modnation Racers, where users can create their own levels.
To clarify, they probably mean the PS3 and 360 versions will run on the Frostbite 2 engine. Based on technical power, the Wii and 3DS versions will probably run on a different engine. I don't care about the Wii version, but I hope the 3DS version turns out good.
I never finished the PSP version, but Crush is a good game. However, I hope Sega will add some extra levels to this game to merit the $40 price, especially for those that completed a good percentage of the game on the PSP.
If true, this sounds intriguing. A wii sensor-like bar on the controller? Hmm... I wonder if this will allow the controller to detect hand gestures or face movement via an added attachment. I'm also hoping for 3DS functionality. Blu-Ray is the future disc format for the time-being, so I hope it's true. Hopefully, Nintendo launches this with a decent size hard drive. They shouldn't name this console the Wii 2; I would prefer SNES 2. Nevertheless, this year's E3 will be big for Nintendo.

3ds is timeless. Give us a new top--down Zelda, Shin Megami, Pokémon, etc. Sales will pick back up.
Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?
I expect the next Switch Direct to be much better than this

Re: Gallery: Behold The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Nintendo Switch Hardware Bundle
Looks like a cheap cash grab, unless a Smash fan out there doesn’t own a Switch yet.

Re: Cities: Skylines Is Out Now On The Nintendo Switch
Unfortunately the Switch is powerful enough to run some of these games without compromise. This and Civ 6 looked rough in the Direct.
Re: Valkyria Chronicles 4 - A Sublime Strategy Experience On Switch
When I read "sublime," I think of a 9 or 10 rating. Regardless, a good review. Personally, I was already sold based on the prequel and demo.

Re: Nintendo Confirms a 'Holiday Experience' Mall Tour for Switch and 3DS in the US
Kudos to Nintendo for helping out the struggling malls. I might check it out if I happen to be shopping for Black Friday and it’s there.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry on the 'Custom' Merits of FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch
I bought it. It is fun to play. However, it doesn’t stand up to the PS4/Xbox One version. I think the Switch version should have launched at 39.99.

Re: Review: Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (3DS)
I think this title should score a 7, at minimum, considering its fundamentals are intact. IMO, it's one of the best 3DS launch titles.
