Is a Nintendo Direct on the horizon? If these new Switch SKUs on GameStop's internal database are anything to go by, there might be one just around the corner.
According to the same leaker who shed light on more than 20 titles about 10 days ahead of E3 this year, GameStop is gearing up for some kind of announcement, with "even more" new Switch SKUs listed. Here are the findings:
https://twitter.com/New_WabiSabi/status/1164697402126680065
Although there's been a lot of Switch games shown off at Gamescom this week, a lot of these titles are now nearing release. Is there a chance Nintendo will host a presentation at some point next month? Perhaps before the end of this month, even? We guess we'll find out!
What do you make of this latest listing? Leave a comment down below.

Good old gamestop, the place where I heard a little kid ask the store manager if they had Smash Ultimate for PS4.
Doesn't "Available" just mean they've set those aside in case Nintendo happens to release a new edition?
It might mean nothing more than they like to have the numbers grouped together for a particular family of products.
Sorry for sounding dumb, but what does SKU stand for?
Edit: Got the answer: stock keeping unit. Thanks!
Nintendo Direct in the 2nd week of September to probably reveal most if not all of the SKUs listed here, as is tradition at this point.
This is the 2nd time this week, clearly something is coming.
Happy birthday to me
Oh boy, a September Nintendo Direct is on the way.
I’m guessing some new bundles? I’m hoping for a direct soon since we’ve only got through November for major releases ( except AC of course in March)
Another day, another rumor
PAX is next week, maybe they’ll do a direct?
@Quarth stock keeping unit
@justin233 Thanks!
With the holidays coming up I could see several new bundles coming out.
Let the speculation and hype begin!
Yeah, Switch is barren between Pokemon Sword/Shield (November 15th) and Animal Crossing (March 20th). While September is so insane that it alone could possibly make up for most of that gap I really doubt Nintendo's going to have a 4 month gap with no games.
We're about due for a proper Direct; it's been a little while since E3. My fingers are crossed for early-mid September.
@Quarth Stock.Keeping.Unit (SKU)
Man, I remember when 16xxxx was for new DS software.
With so many games between now and December I don't need more announcements. Save it all for a January Direct, Nintendo. 2019 is booked plenty well, thank you.
Could one of those be related to the Tweet NoA posted today?
Even Mario needs a little #Summer vacation! No matter where your summer odyssey took you, we hope it was filled with sunshine!
Oh gosh. I’m scared. Ok y’all let’s get the lottery ticket and bank robbing plans together.
@Regpuppy He was saying between Pokemon and Animal Crossing. December thru March
@Lucarianzx I feel so bad for that kid
@Ryu_Niiyama drastic times call for drastic measures?
The Last King of Hyrule: The signs of a Nintendo Direct are clear.
@Mamabear Not bundles, all of these are specifically listed as software, not hardware. Not that I'd be surprised by a Pokemon bundle, but that's not what any of these are.
Oh boy, let's get the rumor mill going. Here we go again.
That said, I would be down for a Switch Pro if it had even some of the feature I'd hope for.
Give me a Switch pro with:
-a larger screen (ditch the bevels on the base model) at 1080p in portable.
-Built in wireless headphone support and better speakers
-2 micro SD card slots
-Stronger battery than even the recent hardware revision(or the same amount of time but stronger to support more power in portable mode)
-high performance mode in portable, the ability to sacrifice battery life in exchange for docked performance in portable mode
-better kickstand
-charging port in a position where you can charge while in table top mode without an additional stand
I would buy a Switch like that for more 300 dollars. I'd probably pay as much as 400 dollars.
I feel like Sept 20th is the big release date for Nintendo. So, a Nintendo Direct corresponding makes common sense. It almost seems like the Switch Lite was primed for the SNES catalogue due to the smaller screen. Here’s hoping SNES games will launch aside it.
Could be just different colors of the new model or even bundles.
@Heavyarms55 Heck, include an OLED screen and I'd pay $500, once I get the money together... An OLED Switch would kill! Especially with more power for higher frame rates!
@shinesprites Super Mario U DX and Mario Maker 2 were also 1st half of 2019.
@Claytonbob They really tweeted that?! I would be thrilled to have Super Mario Sunshine DX running at 60fps and I don't care what resolution on Switch! Maybe Toadette could bring her sparkly pink explosion jump to Delphino Isle!
I think it's safe to say Mario 3D World DX and Wonderful 101 are coming fairly soon to Switch. I hope for Advance Wars, Pikmin, 2D Metroid, and Parodius. Oh yeah, and Timesplitters of some kind could be coming soon...
Available SKU, my favorite game!
I feel it is safe to guess it will fall on September 13. For the past three years every September Direct has fallen on that date
Hasnt there always been a Sept. direct?
@LUIGITORNADO These entries are for the software category. The ones you mention, would be in hardware. So, some software we arent aware of is coming. Doesnt mean it's big ole AAA titles tho, or that theyll actually release this year.
Still playing fire emblem three houses.
To be perfectly honest, I'm set for this year. I do not need a direct now
@Bizzyb Already got the answer a bit up, but thanks anyway.
The revelation for December: the Xmas shopping month, what could it be?
Initially I thought it could be BotW2, now I am thinking it's a game yet to be revealed: Pikmin.
Nintendo added the Piranha Plant to Smash Bros and Mario Tennis a few months ago. People were scratching their heads, wondering why that character (and not Waluigi)? Nintendo don't do things randomly, it's all planned. Either there's going to be a Piranha Plant game or it will be a Pikmin game with that plant in it.
Would love it if Nintendo just dropped a Direct without telling everyone with no leaks just out of no where. The internet would explode
Nintendo needs a new Direct. What ever happened to releasing a Nintendo Direct within two months time? There usually is one within every 2-3 months. So I believe we'll get one before Link's Awakening releases.
@Zach happy birthday bro
@YourGoodFriendly oh, well I guess I focused on the 4 months thing. In that case, I wouldn't expect much more than a few hints at games that may hit next year... At some point. Nintendo likes to keep a lot of things under wraps.
I mean, all they gave us during last year's september direct was just "2019" for a few titles. So I wouldn't expect a lot from a September direct. If we're lucky, we'll get a few announcements for January and a January/February direct to fill out that time.
September direct 🤞
Turns out they have nothing to do with the Nintendo Switch and everything to do with New South Wales.
September Direct is practically guaranteed - even without this leak. I expect it to land in the first half of the month.
SNES Online - September release
Super Mario 3D World - December release
I'd be happy with the above. I'd be delighted with the below.
Metroid Prime Trilogy HD
Retro releasing a new game (not MP4 obviously)
@shinesprites I see what you are coming from but Nintendo padded 2018 and 2019 mid years with a ton of rehashes. However, we don't have a lot of new games being announced for early 2020. Besides animal Crossing which is a big deal. I think we will be pleasantly surprised. Especially since Nintendo never tells us the release date until 5-6 months from the release date of games.
@nintendolie I doubt we’ll see BOTW 2 for at least 3 years. If it came sooner I would probably keel over.
I bet it’s new switchie colors.
Happy to see 'SKU' defined in the article. I've been confused on the definition for a while (Switch Konsole Unit?)
Another day another Nintendo SKU rumour, forgetting the fact that nothing has come all the other times similar rumours have surfaced.
@Lucarianzx Did they have it? lol Could have offered the lad that Playstation AllStar thing...
I predict that one of those title is Solatorobo 2. I really, really hope so...
Did anyone ever check how the pre-E3 SKU leak panned out? As in what releases each of the untitled SKUs matched up to, or whether there was even the right number of SKUs?
Probably for the rediculous pile of new Switch lite accessories that are being announced all over the net right now, esp exclusives sold through EBgames/GameStop.
Third time's the charm: One of those games is definitely Kirby's first traditional 3D platformer. (Blowout Blast is a spin-off like Battle Royale and Air Ride, for those curious.)
