Been playing Lost in Random: The Eternal Die the last couple of days. Basically a poor man's Hades, but it's very fun, the combat is great, and it scratches that Hades itch when you've done what you can with Hades II. Recommended!
If anyone's looking for a Dead Cells-styled rougelite that can be punishing but really rewards getting familiar with the combat and mechanics, and also features pretty solid metaprogression through permanent unlocks, check out Dunjungle. Been having a ton of fun with it this week.
Been telling myself forever that I was gonna try Rune Factory 4 Special, and I finally dove in. It's got its hooks in and I imagine this will be my game for a while.
Spiritfall. Fantastic rougelite that flew under my radar somehow until last week. Smooth 2D action in the vein of Dead Cells with a boon/perk/relic system similar to Hades. Highly recommended.
@Rainz haha, when I was trying to think of a username I remembered playing PQ games back in the day and decided to go with our fearless protagonist. All those early Sierra games were fun.
I picked up TMNT: Splintered Fate on sale and it's been fun working through it the last couple of days. The description of it as a lesser Hades is very accurate, but a decently-made Hades clone is still worth playing, given how high Hades set the bar.
@dew12333 it's a roguelike deckbuilder that implements poker hands as part of its mechanics. There's no other connection to actual poker besides the fact that both utilize traditional fifty-two card decks.
Incredibly important game for Nintendo, but am I alone in thinking the game itself was only okay? If anything, it's more an example of what shrewd marketing can do (to Nintendo's credit).
Good on Pathea for trying to right some wrongs, I guess, but they’re 2-for-2 for releasing horribly broken games that needed a raft of patches and fixes. Maybe they should focus on making sure their games are suitable for release instead of scrambling to do massive damage control after the fact.

I believe you meant 'ethical'.

I kept all my SNES manuals when I was a kid and still have them to this day all packed away in a drawer in near-mint condition.

Spiritfall. Fantastic rougelite that flew under my radar somehow until last week. Smooth 2D action in the vein of Dead Cells with a boon/perk/relic system similar to Hades. Highly recommended.
Re: Absolum And Ball X Pit Post Excellent Initial Sales, But They Deserve More
I've been jumping back and forth between both games and am hopelessly addicted to both, so yeah, highly recommended.

BALL X PIT has sunk its claws in and will have them there a while, I feel.

Re: Zelda's SNES Soundtrack 'A Link To The Past' Joins Nintendo Music, Here's Every Song Included
One of my favorite OSTs ever.
Re: Balatro's Ridiculous 18+ Age Rating Is Finally Lowered
@KingMike great point, and in this case, it's not even a gambling game, it's a roguelite deckbuilder that happens to use playing cards.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd February)
Finally started Core Keeper on Friday, and it's got its hooks into me quite deeply. Really scratches that Stardew itch for me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th January)
Spirit Hunters: Infinite Horde. Fun little Vampire Survivors clone that I've put quite a few hours into now.

Taking a Switch break for the first time in a long time to play some early access Hades II. It is pretty great!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (New Year Edition)

As someone who’s obsessed with this game but does find it a tad ruthless at times, I welcome these changes.

Balatro still owns my life.

Nearing the endgame of Disco Elysium.
Re: Disco Elysium Dev ZA/UM Reportedly Cancels Project And Is Planning Layoffs
That’s too bad. DE is one of the best games I’ve ever played, and I was looking forward to seeing what else the team could do.
Re: My Time At Sandrock Receives Huge Update On Switch, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
The game that launched must have been such an unplayable mess. Yikes.
Re: Exclusive: "This Game Is Not Going Away" - My Time At Sandrock Devs Talk Making Good, And 'Switch 2' Hopes
@HeadPirate perfectly said, haha. Taking some accountability rather than making excuses would have been a little more palatable.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 2nd)
Just finished up with the Mario RPG Remake and am now knee-deep into Astral Ascent. AA is so damn good.
