I hate it, but I ended up pretty disappointed with the game. I played it for around 200 hours and enjoyed it to a degree, but I didn't have nearly as much fun as a I did with Xenoblade. I feel like, more than anything, it was impossible for the game to live up to my expectations after almost three full years of waiting. They absolutely should have waited to reveal the game for a lot longer than they did. However, I still thought the story was painfully weak (both the plot and the characters), the pacing was poor, the world design was frustrating, and the combat was weaker. I still got a reasonably enjoyable 200 hours out of the game, so the game was worthwhile, but I feel like there were some mistakes that were made that weakened to game in comparison to its predecessor.
I do disagree with this article's assertion that the avatar was "just an average person" though. I distinctly remember the game making your character (and your squad with Elma and Lin) basically being portrayed as the absolute best soldier/squad to ever grace B.L.A.D.E.. I mean, it seems like you get sent out for every important mission, you're involved in seemingly everything significant (or at least which needs to be solved). It honestly just seemed like the Avatar/Lin/Elma squad was the only thing that could prevent psychotics, religious extremists, and an entire alien army from utterly destroying NLA. And then there are scenes like this. It's a good article otherwise, but I think that first point is pretty off the mark.
I'm theorizing that both women are Zelda. While I could be completely wrong on this, but a possibility is that Zelda (or possibly just a villager) has been impersonating the Hero of Time/Link due to his absence. Not in just a fabricated/phony way, but so that she's taken to protecting villages, conquering dungeons, searching for the Master Sword and such. It seems plausible enough and I think it would please most fans.
Also, did anyone notice the weird purple-pink (calamity Ganon colored) goo all over the place in that destroyed area? Seems important to both the story and potentially gameplay.
The framerate in the gameplay footage looks outright bad to me. I mean, it's a playable framerate, but it'll remove me from the game far more than scaling back some of the graphics would. I hope this game doesn't just become an obligatory Wii U port of a Switch game. I've held on to my Wii U primarily for this game and would be disappointed if this is ends up being a noticeably inferior means of playing this game. After buying both a 3DS and a Wii U at launch this generation, I'm not going to risk getting burned again by getting Switch any time near launch.
And to anyone saying that there isn't an issue or that we shouldn't complain. We need to to make it clear that it is a concern to ensure that Nintendo doesn't see it as passable. At least for me, I'd prefer to see the graphics scaled back for a higher and more stable frame rate. I hope they'll fix it, but I don't plan to shut up until there's some evidence that they are fixing it.
@KiWiiU_Freak: Framerate has far more to do with gameplay than graphics. It's essentially the rate and quality of information being provided to the player so they can properly play the game. It's a part of how well the game plays. And it's not always a matter of just how "powerful" a console is, but how optimized the game is. Just about every classic, significant game has had relatively good performance (OoT and Shadow of the Colossus PS2 are the only major exceptions which come to mind. However, I've recently noticed how the game uses some smart tricks with movement speed and camera to reduce the noticeability of that game's low framerate. Meanwhile, Shadow of the Colossus use of blurring effects helped the PS2 version, on top of being an unquestionably taxing game. Of course, the PS3 version is the more popular of the two and manages a higher framerate than the original.). Obviously the gameplay is what matters at the heart of it, but a poor framerate can hinder a player from being able to play that game. They aren't mutually exclusive by any means, so stop treating it like this is a "this or that" kind of issue.
@Therad: The answer to this is simple; you should know it. There are games exclusive to consoles (especially in Nintendo's case). Unless Breath of the Wild is coming to PC, I don't think your argument has much of a point.
@KidRad: I can generally agree, but at least it's backwards compatible, so it can take advantage of that sweet DS library. At the very least, the 3DS is better than the DSi.
I'm going to see if I can get my hands on one. I can't justify spending $200 on a N3DSXL (especially after dropping $250 for a launch day 3DS), but $99 is a completely fair price for a replacement.
Hopefully they'll wait until closer to the game's release to reveal it. The nearly three year wait we had to endure between the reveal and release of XCX simply made it so that the game couldn't possibly be good enough to meet the level of investment I had put in it. As a result, I ended up reasonably disappointed in it (although hopefully another playthrough will remedy that).
Sounds like I'll use a Classic Controller if I get one later then. I'm more excited for the controller for now (will be using it with my Wiimote for some VC, but mainly on PC). I'll be especially excited if they confirm a SNES Mini. I'd love to have a SNES Controller for some PC games (I'd get an adapter, but I'm not familiar with how they make that work, but I'm nicely acquainted with GlovePIE).
<One more angry comment about disappointment in My Nintendo being almost exclusively discounts on games I'm not interested in or already own, or simply don't want to spend money and points on and how much better Club Nintendo was.>
But yes, considering how widespread (at least judging by this website) this sentiment is, Nintendo needs to actually acknowledge this. It's just ridiculous at this point. I'd be just as easy for them to put up a nice VC game as these shallow discounts (I don't think any of them actually a discount worth more than $5, which is pathetic.) but their insistence on this makes it look like they're ungrateful to their consumers (and honestly just feels like some ploy to direct consumer interest toward specific titles or wrap them up in some cycle of purchasing games just to feel like they're getting anything out of their points). Maybe it will pick up once the Switch comes out, but the Switch has no impact on the quality of the rewards they could be offering right now.
That actually looks far more fun than Super Mario Run. My issue with the latter is just how slow Mario runs in it. There's a nice since of speed an momentum (due to SM64's wonderful controls) to the mod.
What I find so appalling is that Nintendo NAILED their last attempt at taking the Metroid series out of hibernation. They were experimental in making Prime, but knew to launch a game (Metroid Fusion) that met fans traditional expectations to prevent any major backlash. Of course, both games were excellent, but Fusion reassured fans and helped them willingly support a fairly experimental title from a rookie studio. Prime could have had the same disaster as Fed Force, but Nintendo knew how to appease fans.
@Matclip: I highly recommend that you actually play AM2R. It's true to its source material, but greatly adds to the original. Doc's creativity and talent are on complete display in how all of the content from the original game is adapted and modified. It's far more than shinier graphics, a new engine, and a few new features (as all of the Zelda remakes have been), but a complete overhaul of the original game. I'd argue that as his first major project, AM2R was a great benefit to Doc. He had a guideline on how to make a good game to help him make a great game. I'm sure from here that he'll be able to bring out an original and equally great masterpiece down the road.
The music of those themes is absolute garbage. And unfortunately, there isn't a way to just mute the music unless you simply mute the 3DS. That's unquestionably my biggest irritation.
I don't detect the same arrogance out of his comment. I think he simply finds fun in trying to play a game to the best of his ability, much like speed runners. I highly doubt that he expects every Pokemon GO player to find a loop with multiple Pokestops and race around it like he is. To go with the speed runner comparison, the current system Niantic is employing would be like making a game purposefully lock up if a speedrunner was progressing through the game faster than the developers thought was possible. It's nothing but a cap, and is punishing legitimate and highly dedicated players.
It sucks to see it taken down, but it was probably necessary. I'd almost take it that Nintendo waited for the complete release (unless they really didn't know about this largely noted and longtime project when they're able to take down the most obscure Youtube videos) before they took it down. Do I think that they should have worked out a way to get this into the eShop? Absolutely. And the potential remains for something to happen. The classic kneejerk reaction is to curse Nintendo, but the takedown just makes it slightly harder to get a copy. It's out and it's not going to vanish just because the main download link got taken down. The best we can do is support AM2R. We can play it, stream it, make videos on it, talk about it on various forums, tweet about it, and everything else to show where there is demand in our community. Let's make it completely overshadow Federation Force once it comes out. If Nintendo then chooses to follow Fed Force with Metroid: Zebesian Amibo Tea Party, then we know they don't have any idea what they're doing and can burn down every Nintendo headquarters and slaughter the employees like the dumb pigs they're proven they are, all without a hint of guilt. (And for anyone who can't figure it out, the prior sentence is purely hyperbole.)
I'm glad to see this is finally finished. Already downloading it. I played one of the demos years ago and honestly loved the original Metroid 2. It's survived so long, so maybe that's Nintendo's way of silently approving it. (Although isn't legal action essentially required?)
I'm a very solid "meh" on this potential NX. After getting completely burnt by the 3DS and Wii U launches, I'm not going to even consider touching this thing until I can see it's going to succeed.
I'm mostly excited for the controllers, but might get the NES as well. A version with an expandable library would have me in immediately. I'll be getting those controllers for sure. I'm sure I can get them working with my PC. The potential in that is astounding.
I'm very unimpressed with this review. Reading both reviews, it seems more than obvious that the reviewer of the original game never played the whole thing and that this reviewer didn't play much of the original. Two sets of blocks could be spawned in later worlds of the original game. To suggest that is a new feature to this game is factually inaccurate. I'm getting the since that both reviewers gave this already short game a mere hour or two and then slapped a review together. Compared to the number of clickbait-esque articles and tremendous coverage of playground rumors on this site, I'm highly disappointed. I come to this site looking for good reviews and good news coverage of important or informative topics. If this website cannot provide such with good quality, I will start looking elsewhere.
Reminded me of this video from a long time ago. It's a pretty good showing of some of those old consoles. It's not polished, but it's pretty informative. Slight swearing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnHvg5bE6vo
That's insane. I'll have to try this out at some point (not with my own cartridge, of course). I'm curious about what else can be done with that glitch.
That Dual Gun Samus Amiibo should get even more firepower than the regular amiibo.
Joking aside, I still can't stand amiibo. Federation Force will probably be a good game, maybe better than Tri-Force Heroes, but it was definitely not the Metroid game the Nintendo needed to reawaken the series with. That was the actual mistake. I doubt I'll buy it, but the fan reaction has been honestly ridiculous (Color Splash deserves far more backlash).
Props to @smashbroslink and @Einherjar for basically expressing my current thoughts on this issue (I argued heavily about this on the forums around a year ago, then got sidetracked and it ended. I might have a few more points to add, but y'all argued the main ones far better than I did back then.
Zelda already has plenty of strong female characters in the supporting cast. Zelda, Midna, Princess Ruto, Medley, Impa, Tetra, that knight chick in TP, Saria, that Gerudo woman in OoT, etc. To call the series "sexist" or not representing genders equally is simply ignoring everything else in the series. I'd argue the female characters have been far more favorably depicted than most of the male characters in the series. The Mail Man, Tingle, the two men on Lon Lon Ranch, the builders, Zant, and many other male NPCs across the games. Am I bothered at all? No. It's a joke to reduce characters to a handful of anatomical differences.
Why does a male Link matter to me? He's an established icon of the series. There are three reasons I see for people wanting this change. Some simply see doing so as something cool or interesting, without much deeper consideration of the work required to make the addition of such an option meaningful. I ultimately fear that to create a female Link, Nintendo would opt to strip Link of any character (his actions and reactions reveal subtle hints of his character) and make character interactions more like walking on eggshells than any conversation (or strict listening to be technical). Others seem to want it simply for titillation, which they can get elsewhere. Then some people see it as some opportunity to make the series more "progressive". I completely object to turning Link into a political trophy.
Link isn't an avatar. He's not a character you are meant to fully project yourself onto. He's not a tool of extensive self-expression. You control him, you fill in some blanks, but he's not meant to be a representation of you. He is a link, someone ordinary who can plainly interact with the world and sometimes interact in extraordinary ways. To trample on this unique and established way of interaction with the game world, we'd be losing something great and very distinct to Zelda.
I would give the game a chance if the physical version wasn't a limited print. I still question many decisions made and I can't stand Awakening, but I'd give the series a final chance. That's not an option for me though...
I'm still mostly in favor of an F-Zero movie. The world of F-Zero is well established, so the writers would just need to make a story to fit into it. It would have the high-speed car chases and fighting to make it a solid action-movie and the slightly over-the-top WWE sense to the whole of the F-Zero universe could keep things fresh. It'd be a good popcorn-flick, broad appeal, everything needed for an enjoyable and successful film.
The issue is taking a score as an objective all-encompassing representation of a game's "fun". To get something like that, we would need game experts who could judge the quality of both the game's design as well as the specific appeals of the game. An almost impeccably designed RTS is going to be a great game, but only for the audience that appreciates that genre (and maybe some others). Strengths and weaknesses in the appeal of a game are far more important and rarely, and sometimes impossible, to provide. Multiplayer-focused games, for instance, could have the appeal of a great, polite, funny community. That won't be known until long after the reviews have been published. The current environment for good reviews doesn't exist, nor does the audience of said reviews properly interpret them. It's almost futile, but a complete overhaul of the review system would do wonders for the industry.
I've been waiting for something like this to happen. I'm hoping it'll build into something significant. Maybe this will make it clear to people that Competitive Smash (and competitive versions of many games) are not just the best players playing the game, but people who are very good at the game within a specific set of rules (which are designed to minimize the effect of random chance and without playing a large number of rounds). Maybe someone will make a format which includes items and put the argument to rest.
Sonic the Hedgehog is still an impressive game for its time. The main reason it made it in, I imagine, is for its brand power. He's the emblem of the console wars. Historically, in terms of cultural impact, Sonic is significant. It seems that we're forgetting that a game doesn't need to be "good" to be on this list, it just needs to have made a significant contribution in the history of video games. Some games do that through revolutionary gameplay, others just get popular. It's likely the reason World of Warcraft was nominated (and maybe made it in) over Everquest.
Well, at least there is some good news today. I hope anyone who wasn't able to get the game for a decent price can enjoy it. XC is still an excellent game.
Well, it's nice to hear the game will be coming out, but this is easily the most frustrating generation of gaming that I've gone through. It's going to take something really impressive (along the lines of an E3 that meets rabid fan expectations) to get me on board with the NX. This has certainly been a disappointing, frustrating generation.
Well, it should go along really well with this patent:
I'll be waiting for the NX leak featuring this controller in the meantime.
Wait! In the wind! Another glides upon the winds into my ear! "My uncle's goldfish's sister's husband's father's step-son's biological father's owner's uncle, who mows the grass around Nintendo and is really good friends with Reggie, said that the NX is short for the "Nintendo EXperience." Zelda U is being ported to it and the Wii U version is cancelled. The game will make use of the "Horseback Riding" peripheral and the NX's new U-shaped controller. Nintendo hopes to give gamer's the most realistic horseback riding experience any game has ever provided. They've poured extensive resources into making Epona's AI the most advanced horse AI in any game. She can recognize trees, enemies, grass, other horses, Link, Link with boobs, the sky, and the sun. They are still having problems getting her to recognize rocks though, so she has run into them and rock walls. She has also been known to run off of cliffs. This wouldn't be an issue if she wouldn't keep looking down. The game was delayed in hopes of remedying Epona's issues with rocks. Otherwise, the game will have to be overhauled and all rocks will have to be replaced with wood. A great length of time will be needed to create an explanation as to why everything is made of wood if they cannot succeed in making her recognize rocks." I'll stop now.
I had issues with the controls in the demo (probably better as a PC game in general), but the lack of crosshairs or any other indication of where your bullet is specifically going (being both a projectile and being shot from the hip, this is a major fault in a game that based on quick, accurate shots). Fun, but with some definite flaws.
This would probably be enough to actually make me get a New 3DS XL (just releasing a standard version would be enough, I'm not fond of the larger version). I doubt that Nintendo would support this though, considering their stance on Youtube. I'm also afraid that if they did implement it, they would essentially force you to be a part of their program to stream or upload videos. It would be an awesome feature though (and far better than sending it to someone to get it modded).
The heart of the issue is that after years of silence from the series following a poorly received game, they brought it back with this. It's not very reassuring to bring the series back with a Metroid game about "shootin' aliens wit' some buddies". I doubt the outrage would be anywhere near what it is if Nintendo had announced a proper, close-to-formula Metroid game before or in tandem with the announcement of this game.
@Danny429: I feel like I did a good job of making this clear, but that last section was said very tongue-in-cheekly. I was making fun of rabid ultra-purists.
Copy/Pasted from the other Article on Gender Choice:
Link has been a well handled character (yes, character, not avatar). Male, but not hyper-masculine, somewhat feminine in appearance. I remember an old thread discussing how his appearance was almost androgynous. He could play the typical hero-character in the classic "hero saves princess" story. Games could contain a hint of romance (Malon, Zelda, and Ruto in OoT; Tetra/Zelda and maybe Medley in WW; Ilia, Zelda, and Midna in TP; Zelda in SS). The games have had innumerable strong female characters.
I'm afraid this attempt is going to shave away some of those more subtle parts of Link's personality, which at least gave an indication that there was a bit more to him. That said, if they are going to add the option, they better make it meaningful. Other games with characters of customizable gender (Mass Effect, Fallout, etc.) used these differences to effect the narrative and the interactions the player could have. The difference added to how the player could interact with the world. I place doubt in Nintendo doing anything like this. A model swap and a few pronoun switches is all I'm expecting. And for addition of some boobs, a few s's in front of "he", they'll erase any hints that Link is anything more than a "blank-slate". I'd like to be surprised, but I'm not optimistic about it.
Then there's still the issue of continuity. You're forced to either never mention the events of the game, do so vaguely, or take one course of events as "canon" (unless they want to make the timeline an even more confusing mess than the family tree in "I'm My Own Grandpa"). Link is an established character and the face (though not a name) of the franchise. I'd rather see this not happen and if it does, it'll have to prove to be a meaningful addition.
I just don't want to see artistic vision trampled for progressivism's sake. If this is their vision and they are truly impassioned to make this an addition to the game, I'm for it. If this is just them thinking "well, people seem to want it, so we'll just adjust the game to fit it in", then it's a misfortune.
[Exeunt SomeBitTripFan]
(Thus concludes my somewhat dramatic ramble/rant. Take from it what you will.)
(Bonus) Jocular Desperate Point: This will make the whole issue with "It's called 'The Legend of Zelda', so his name is Zelda" that much more of an issue. I HATE having to correct people on the internet who would even SUGGEST that Link's name is Zelda, let alone those idiots who name him anything other than "Link" in their game files!
@aaronsullivan: There's actually a notable difference. Books can still provide rich detail about an object, room, person, or any other noun/verb. The person has to mentally fill in some details, but many are provided or can be provided through the text. Some thing rendered in pixel art is, essentially, just less detailed. It has details, and the artist had to put effort into making those details, but you're really just looking at a less detailed object. The difference is that the reader has to envision and construct the details and take liberties where detail is not given. Something depicted with pixel art just isn't very detailed (speaking exclusively about minimalist "retro" pixel art, not high-detail, potentially stylistic art rendered as sprites). I hope I communicated that clearly. I can try to give an example if you need it.
As for voice acting, I'm a fan of the style Zelda games currently use. The short clips give enough of a sense of what the character is like, but you aren't beat over the head with it. I'm scared to imagine a fully voice-acted interaction with a character like Tingle, Beetle, or some of Zelda's other unusual characters. I could imagine it getting irritating. I don't have confidence in Nintendo hiring a talented group of voice actors either. To be honest, there's great potential for voice acting, but it seems like it's used just a way for someone to read a text box aloud. It's nice, given a talented voice actor, but it could be used for greater purposes. I'd be incredible to walk through Hyrule Castle Town, just overhearing bits of conversation--about the weather, some bad joke, or maybe an interesting rumor (which could lead to a side quest, game progression or a reward), or just flesh out the game world. Games already do this, to some degree, with text but you often have to speak directly to the person or quickly read the floating text (or text box, there's something like this in XCX) and there's some little indication that something is important or you get something like "I saw something glittering in the cave near Hyrule Castle. I wonder if there's treasure there". Just imagine if you picked all that up just hearing it in idle conversation as you walked down a street. If there's any game that does this, please let me know. I may just be repeating what @aaronsullivan said here, but I felt this example made a good case for what he was saying.

I'm in it for the Platinum Points, but does have a strange, honestly stupid charm to it. I have no plan of getting really into it (other than the "change clothes, answer three questions, and buy/win some clothes" thing). I don't think it will have much longevity in its current state.
This level seems a bit one note. It seemed to just rely on being able to reliably jump and throw the shell to propel you up. It's impressive to see someone complete it, but the level itself wasn't that impressive (in terms of design).
@SLIGEACH_EIRE: I think you've forgotten that needless self-imposed torture is a form of fun for some people.
I was fooled for a bit. Then I considered how no footage had been shown and how ridiculous some of it was. I was thinking it was odd that Nintendo hadn't dropped this bomb in the Direct. It was the 29 FPS and Inkle when I realized that this was a joke. Shame on me.

Re: Feature: Xenoblade Chronicles X - One Year Later
I hate it, but I ended up pretty disappointed with the game. I played it for around 200 hours and enjoyed it to a degree, but I didn't have nearly as much fun as a I did with Xenoblade. Re: Rumour: Monolith Soft Working on Something 'New' for Nintendo Switch
Re: Random: The Classic Controller Can Be Used to Reset the NES Mini
Sounds like I'll use a Classic Controller if I get one later then. I'm more excited for the controller for now (will be using it with my Wiimote for some VC, but mainly on PC). I'll be especially excited if they confirm a SNES Mini. I'd love to have a SNES Controller for some PC games (I'd get an adapter, but I'm not familiar with how they make that work, but I'm nicely acquainted with GlovePIE).
Re: New North American My Nintendo Rewards Carry A Major Metroid Theme
Re: Random: Google Teases Smartphone Reveal With Zelda: Majora's Mask Reference
I'll be completely shocked if there's any significance behind that beyond a simple geeky joke. That's been a thing forever.
Re: My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Now Available 'Indefinitely'
Dang. If they would have said this earlier, I would have used my points for something else other than trying to save up enough in time to get it.
Re: Video: A Modder Has Made Super Mario Run 64
That actually looks far more fun than Super Mario Run. My issue with the latter is just how slow Mario runs in it. There's a nice since of speed an momentum (due to SM64's wonderful controls) to the mod.
Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Power Bombs in Japan
What I find so appalling is that Nintendo NAILED their last attempt at taking the Metroid series out of hibernation. They were experimental in making Prime, but knew to launch a game (Metroid Fusion) that met fans traditional expectations to prevent any major backlash. Of course, both games were excellent, but Fusion reassured fans and helped them willingly support a fairly experimental title from a rookie studio. Prime could have had the same disaster as Fed Force, but Nintendo knew how to appease fans.
Re: Feature: A Close Look at AM2R - The Metroid Game That Fans Deserve
Re: Samus is the Latest Hero to Get a My Nintendo 3DS HOME Theme
The music of those themes is absolute garbage. And unfortunately, there isn't a way to just mute the music unless you simply mute the 3DS. That's unquestionably my biggest irritation.
Re: Pokémon GO Player Aims For Million XP In 24 Hours, Unwittingly Triggers Anti-Cheat Mechanism
Re: Nintendo Issues Takedown Notices for Impressive Fan-Made Metroid II Remake, AM2R
Re: Celebrate 30 Years of Metroid With The Fan-Made "AM2R"
I'm glad to see this is finally finished. Already downloading it. I played one of the demos years ago and honestly loved the original Metroid 2. It's survived so long, so maybe that's Nintendo's way of silently approving it. (Although isn't legal action essentially required?)
Re: Poll: The Nintendo NX - Where Do You Stand on the Future of Nintendo?
I'm a very solid "meh" on this potential NX. After getting completely burnt by the 3DS and Wii U launches, I'm not going to even consider touching this thing until I can see it's going to succeed.
Re: New NES Mini Console Won't Get More Games, Cartridge Slot To Remain Shut For All Eternity
I'm mostly excited for the controllers, but might get the NES as well. A version with an expandable library would have me in immediately. I'll be getting those controllers for sure. I'm sure I can get them working with my PC. The potential in that is astounding.
Re: Review: BOXBOXBOY! (3DS eShop)
Re: Video: Take a Look at Nintendo's First Ever Console - The Color TV Game 6
Reminded me of this video from a long time ago. It's a pretty good showing of some of those old consoles. It's not polished, but it's pretty informative.

Re: Video: Welcome To The Hellish Glitch That Allows Speedrunners To Beat Super Mario Land 2 In Minutes
That's insane. I'll have to try this out at some point (not with my own cartridge, of course). I'm curious about what else can be done with that glitch.
Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force Will Have amiibo Support
That Dual Gun Samus Amiibo should get even more firepower than the regular amiibo.
Joking aside, I still can't stand amiibo. Federation Force will probably be a good game, maybe better than Tri-Force Heroes, but it was definitely not the Metroid game the Nintendo needed to reawaken the series with. That was the actual mistake. I doubt I'll buy it, but the fan reaction has been honestly ridiculous (Color Splash deserves far more backlash).
Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link
Re: Guide: What's New And Different In Fire Emblem Fates?
I would give the game a chance if the physical version wasn't a limited print. I still question many decisions made and I can't stand Awakening, but I'd give the series a final chance. That's not an option for me though...
Re: Feature: Five Nintendo Franchises We'd Love to See As Movies
I'm still mostly in favor of an F-Zero movie. The world of F-Zero is well established, so the writers would just need to make a story to fit into it. It would have the high-speed car chases and fighting to make it a solid action-movie and the slightly over-the-top WWE sense to the whole of the F-Zero universe could keep things fresh. It'd be a good popcorn-flick, broad appeal, everything needed for an enjoyable and successful film.
Re: Soapbox: Why Websites Don’t Need to Give a Game a Review Score (and Probably Shouldn’t)
Re: Feature: Team-Based Super Smash Bros. Format, The Gauntlet, Aims to Transform the Competitive Scene
Re: The Legend of Zelda and Sonic the Hedgehog Are Inducted Into the World Video Game Hall of Fame
Re: Nintendo is Selling its Majority Stake in the Seattle Mariners
This news, everything Nintendo has done today, is just making them look weak and desperate. This was a poor decision, it's killing fan's confidence.
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Looks Set For The North American Wii U Virtual Console
Well, at least there is some good news today. I hope anyone who wasn't able to get the game for a decent price can enjoy it. XC is still an excellent game.

Let us hold a moment of silence for Fire Emblem...

Re: The Legend of Zelda for Wii U Will Be The Only Playable Nintendo Game at E3
Today has been a terrible move by Nintendo. I've never seen a core fanbase so shaken by a single day. You've got some serious work to do Nintendo...
Re: The Legend of Zelda Wii U Has Been Pushed Back to 2017, Will Release On NX As Well
Well, it's nice to hear the game will be coming out, but this is easily the most frustrating generation of gaming that I've gone through. It's going to take something really impressive (along the lines of an E3 that meets rabid fan expectations) to get me on board with the NX. This has certainly been a disappointing, frustrating generation.
Re: This Nintendo Patent for a U-Shaped Fitness Controller is Actually Cool

A great length of time will be needed to create an explanation as to why everything is made of wood if they cannot succeed in making her recognize rocks."
I'll stop now.
Re: Review: Lovely Planet (Wii U eShop)
I had issues with the controls in the demo (probably better as a PC game in general), but the lack of crosshairs or any other indication of where your bullet is specifically going (being both a projectile and being shot from the hip, this is a major fault in a game that based on quick, accurate shots). Fun, but with some definite flaws.
Re: Rumour: More Sources Highlight NX Controller 'Gimmick' and a Major Game Project
So, if this is true, I'm going to call the NX the Wii Nu.
Re: Video: This New 3DS Hack Allows You to Wirelessly Stream Video to PC
This would probably be enough to actually make me get a New 3DS XL (just releasing a standard version would be enough, I'm not fond of the larger version). I doubt that Nintendo would support this though, considering their stance on Youtube. I'm also afraid that if they did implement it, they would essentially force you to be a part of their program to stream or upload videos. It would be an awesome feature though (and far better than sending it to someone to get it modded).
Re: Nintendo of America Opens the Teaser Site for Metroid Prime: Federation Force
Re: Nintendo Life Weekly: Zelda Wii U Rumours Point to Sex Choice in Playable Character
@Danny429: I feel like I did a good job of making this clear, but that last section was said very tongue-in-cheekly. I was making fun of rabid ultra-purists.
Re: Rumour: More Claims Made For New Legend of Zelda on Wii U and NX, Gender Choice For Playable Character

Re: Editorial: Miitomo is Surprisingly Strange and Compelling
I'm in it for the Platinum Points, but does have a strange, honestly stupid charm to it. I have no plan of getting really into it (other than the "change clothes, answer three questions, and buy/win some clothes" thing). I don't think it will have much longevity in its current state.

Re: Video: Super Mario Maker Player Clears Insane Level and Shows Just How Tricky It Was
This level seems a bit one note.
Re: Splatoon to Arrive on 3DS Under the Name "Splatoon Legends"
I was fooled for a bit. Then I considered how no footage had been shown and how ridiculous some of it was. I was thinking it was odd that Nintendo hadn't dropped this bomb in the Direct. It was the 29 FPS and Inkle when I realized that this was a joke. Shame on me.
