Damn, so many WiiU games, nintendo really should give people who already own the WiiU version a option to upgrade it to switch version for a cheaper price, this is such a kick in the nads to everyone who supported the WiiU.
Written reviews from random keyboard ninjas hiding behind their anonymity has never been a good idea. They tend to act and say strange junk instead of keeping it real.
I'm kind of glad they rotate everything, it helps stop everyone from picking the one map over and over, like with rainbow road in mk8. Imagine everyone picking moray towers and using high range weapons 100% of the time in splatoon, it would totally suck and it would totally happen with the way 'sheeple' I mean 'people' follow others.
The matchmaking was completely screwed up for me, I constantly got in matches where I was the only person who knew how to play the damn game. Only 20% of my matches even felt half close in team matchups, the rest was a stupid carry fest. I hope they change matchmaking to be more fair in the future. Because [1good 3sht] does not equal [4 average] players, it should be matched up on a 1 to 1 basis, not this team average bullshiznit. Because it ain't working, and its frustrating to sit through.
How the hell could this happen, I can't see a single wii/wiiu game that requires you to fall over with a device in ya hand to get a action out. lol I hope iLife ends up losing everything they have.
If the switch really is the next main everything, maybe we will see many variations of it, much like the 3DS now. I'd love a 'Switch Pro' for the house with more power and no portability, and maybe a 'Switch Mini' for the younger audience, that has a smaller screen and is cheaper.
In rocket league all you can do is spam chat messages with no control over what is said, such as GG, That was close, What a save! etc. So this excuse by sony is insane and just shows how afraid they are that the switch will overtake its 60mil total sales. I'm sure they could easily make a similar chat system in minecraft if they were really worried about insulting other players.
I'd guess ribbon girl with her insane amount of jumps, considering how difficult it is to aim upward and to a side hopefully they work on that, straights, left curves and right curves were easy, but curve up or down was very difficult.
Spring man was my fav, but I don't think he had much of a win rate.
Awesome news! Hopefully it has some english text like Disgaea's Japanese version. I would love to get back into MH, but got tired of the tiny 3ds screens. Believe it or not this is one of the only games my mum ever got into and got good at, she'll be happy too~
The laws on this kind of need to be re-written, they are outdated and no longer suit our needs.
They were created because ages ago a tape or cd would only last about 3 to 18 months depending on how well it was looked after. This is why the law was created, to make backups of stuff like this so when the original inevitably breaks you can replace it.
Now that things last way longer (years even decades) I think it needs to be changed to stop loop holes like this from being abused and profited upon by dirt bag parasites like this.
I think this all depends on 'if the glitch or exploits are causing harm to the servers or possibly to consoles' Then that is a fair reason to want to put a stop to it, but if it is doing no harm they should just let them be.
I totally agree about the antialiasing and the bi-linear filtering is ugly. But i've never seen a nintendo game that does it well yet. Hopefully they'll start to do it better with the future games. Jagged lines one of my bigger pet peeves and blurry parts (bi-linear filtering bits).
Other then those 2 things the game seems perfect, btw loved this review too, it's not often we find someone who knows what the filtering options you talked about even are and what they mean to the in-game final renders. To me it sticks out a lot since I work on games, but to others maybe it isn't such a big deal. I just feel sorry for the 3D modelers and artists that went to so much work just to get poor filtering options at the end that make the work look only 75% as good as it should have.
It looks like a very easy issue to fix, the switch is more then powerful enough to run this.
I would suggest the Devs take a look at the builds and make sure the game is actively setting everything that is out of view to being un-rendered. I've had issues baking that stuff in and it makes a 1000% difference when it is working correctly.
@Menchi187 I'm on internet that has a 100gb limit per month, so to me and my perspective almost 500mb is a significantly ''beefy'' piece of my daily/monthly limit. Especially if you do the math. I only get around 3gig per day.
@Menchi187 It all depends on perspective, considering the whole game is what 9~13gig, then yes 478mb is fairly meaty. Compared to a game which has a size of 40gb, then I guess it'd be quite a small patch. There is no right or wrong answer in this situation and your comment just makes me say. WTF~
If they add 'chance for shiny versions' of everything and change the spawn points to 'real random' instead of set points that just change. Then maybe i'd look at it again. But having to walk to the exact same spot to catch the exact same stuff every time drove me away from it. No fun like that at all. IT should have been like walking around in grass in pokemon games.
Based on the time gap between Splatoon1 testfire and release, I think splatoon 2 is really really close to being ready, and I honestly expect it to be out sometime this month or next month at the latest.
Little non for profit experiments like this are quite awesome, even tho the ''is it okay to do'' line is a little blurry. It would have been a great learning experience and i'd imagine amazing to see it finally working how they wanted.
I'm really curious at what the dubious food looks like un-pixelated now. Lol great little interview~ Great game they did amazing things with the chemistry and physics.
It was pure awesomeness, but I did feel like some buttons should be customizable, and we need a mini map in bottom right. I kept looking down cause I was to used to doing that on the WiiU to get a quick glance at where I would be most useful. I'll get used to it tho just a QoL/habit thing.
Hmm, if you take the joycons off it is only a tiny bit bigger then my current android phone, I think that needs to be looked at again by whoever decided it.
Most of the so called ''scratching from docks'' that i've seen are so full of it, they clearly scratched em in other ways and are looking for attention. One of them looked like they used a key in a 'Z' pattern, impossible for a dock to do that.
Mines been in and out of the dock plenty of times already and has no problems at all.
I wouldn't recommend having it laying flat like it is while in docked mode, the whole back of the case is essentially a giant heatsink, so it is designed to absorb heat and release it. So it helps to have air able to hit the back of the case.
However if you had it on something cold, it would help keep it cool and healthy for longer then normal. (by a small percentage)
It kind of looks like a few steps backward with plugs everywhere. If they can come up with a way of docking and un-docking as easily as the original dock does then maybe they'll be onto something. This thing with cords everywhere, having to plug stuff in and out is just horrible.
I'm getting a bit worried about performance, after playing zelda botw quite a bit the fps drops are frequent and that's only at 900p.
Imagine how amazing zelda would have looked in 1080p @ 60fps, with better antialiasing so we can't see all those jagged lines on the side of everything....
Really wish nintendo would just make a system that is within 80% power range of the other consoles, this 50% and less stuff really isn't working. ><
It'll have some good games but i'm pretty much saying goodbye to all 3rd parties already based on early tests. Which sucks and was WiiU's biggest mistake.
This would be to stop backdoor save data hacks, and copying / duping items in certain games that are bound to have online functionality in the future.
So all in all it is a good idea that they don't let us infinitely copy the data. Instead i'm almost 100% sure they will have save data tied to online accounts soon, after the launch all settles down a bit so the servers don't explode.
I think some of those sound effects were in meme run, it is a conspiracy the same guys back again... Nintendo really need to keep a eye out for this kind of thing and put a stop to it before it gets released.
One other thing, I wouldn't worry about the power this system has at launch at all. Because I have a feeling that nintendo has some tricks up its sleeve, in the form of attachments that hook into the dock and give it extra gpu/cpu power, but it would be a expensive addon that only some 3rd party games would require, think of it like the Switch+. That way nintendo can hit the casual market with a base version Switch, and the pro gamers can get the Switch+ attachment to have a more powerful machine.
If you know anything about tech and power requirements to push hardware to the limit, then this was quite obvious from the very start. It was a trade off, you can either have a full powered portable device but then it will run out of power in like 1hr, and that isn't going to work for something we want to play on the go. So some of the power has to be sacrificed to give us more time to play and stretch the batterys life out.
Personally I enjoyed a lot of the games. But not without a lot of disapointing moments.
Highlights : Splatoon! Best new game series i've seen in the last decade. Wonderful 101 + Bayonette was also quite enjoyable. Plus Xenoblade was great too.
Lowlights : Underpowerd, no 3rd party support, hard to communicate with friends and hard to get friends to buy it. Gamepad range was way to small, and no analog triggers like button triggers in this time and age was really silly mistake made racing games a impossibility and most likely drove away 3rd party devs even more.
Maybe there is 4GB of ram in the portable switch, and another 2GB or 4GB in the dock, which could make it a total of 6GB or 8GB of RAM while docked. I actually hope the 2nd statement is true.
I think it is good news that no 2nd screen will be running, but my reasoning is purely based on cpu / gpu power, and that it can concentrate on the 1 thing more.
Still love this game, play it sometimes but not to much lately. I really hope we seen sequels to this and it grows to be a huge thing on the NX. It'd be great.
I really hope the WiiU or NX gets another version, i'm kinda tired of playing MH on small screens, it was soooo much more fun on the WiiU and better looking.
