During today's special Bayonetta 2 Direct it was revealed that in addition to the confirmed Nintendo-themed costumes, you will also be able to dress up as Fox McCloud from Star Fox.
The outfit comes complete with fox ears and a bushy tail, and looks just as goofy and adorable as the other outfits.
As mentioned above Bayonetta 2 will also feature variations of the Nintendo costumes found in the Wii U Bayonetta port, with Princess Peach, Daisy, Link and Samus included. The Nintendo Direct also confirmed more alternative outfits, such as a stylish Chinese-influenced ensemble.
As another bonus, Rodin was confirmed as a playable character in the online multiplayer Tag Climax mode, along with Jeanne.
Are you excited about these Nintendo outfits? Let us know.

I was hoping for a demo like with w101......
Sexy Fox McCloud at that. Never thought i'd say that.
Sweet.
but fox in bayonetta is kidda strange like ekreig said why not krystal ?
I having a feeling furries will really like this. At the same time though, I really like this anyways, so I don't care. I wish there were more costumes. I thought Crystal would fit too.
oh my!
Best costume out of the bunch.
Not trolling and not bashing, I never played any in the franchise so speaking in ignorance, but this game looks rediculous. Happy for fans though, it got tons of extras
Platinum Games's Star Fox confirmed! Or at least I wished... It doesn't seem too unlikely anyway at this point that Miyamoto would request their help.
People actually thought she'll be in Smas Bros 😒
@nathatruc I think they're under the impression - whether rightly or not I don't know - that the w101 demo actually put a lot of people off the game.
Didn't enjoy that very much to be honest; lacked all of the charm you typically get with Nintendo directs, no humour whatsoever just a whole load of charisma transplant patients.
@Haxonberik yes it is ,the new game is being worked on with his new development company
facepalm
Disappointed, no Smash trailer as a surprise!
And they said putting Link in Mario Kart was ruining a franchise...
@luke88 I agree I didn't liked the direct. but the game will be great and we learn that the game will be out in october 24th in europe too and in 3 different editions.
I need that special 'first print' edition... Hope to have it available for preorder soon, or free, since I've preordered the game since WAY BEFORE they announced the first game would come with it!
@nathatruc @ekreig I believe it'll be because crystal isn't quite famous/recognisable enough. It's better to go with the more well known characters to increase their chance of people feeling that 'familiarity'. Plus, I don't even want to think of the images the furries would create if bayonetta-Krystal existed xD
@luke88 - "I think they're under the impression - whether rightly or not I don't know - that the w101 demo actually put a lot of people off the game."
Nintendo must really think that b/c Wii U has received maybe 1 demo in the the year since that W101 demo came out last August. for comparison 3DS got 3 demos TODAY. At least HW demo is supposed to be in stores, maybe this will show up someday, ti's still nearly 2 months away. .
The Direct is kinda weak. Their heads turning to the camera aren't synced. best thing ever is the Fox costume compared to the other 3 (with Samus costume comes second as my favorite).
I was hoping they'd release Bayo1 on the eShop earlier before Bayo2. I mean Bayo2 on release day and many of us won't be playing it because we would play Bayo1 first.
Are the Nitnedo costumes available in B2, b/c I thought they were only available in B1?
Oh god she looks terrible in that costume.
Okay, this is getting kinda outta hand. It was interesting at first, when Nintendo started to do these things a while back (in some fighting game, Tekken I believe?? then those silly Monster Hunter...etc.), but recently it seems to me that they blindly keep throwing costumes around into more and more games just for the heck of it. I know they're probably trying to say, "oh, we're working on a Star Fox game, keep a lookout for that", making a reference and what not, but doing it in such a way that it sacrifices some of that untouched exclusivity of a certain title is becoming tasteless. It's basically a way of connecting all these different franchises and making it seem like Nintendo really loves to compliment themselves, as well as limiting a sense of...variety, for lack of a better term.
To me it's just, "oh look, an awesome-looking game that has nothing to do with any of Nintendo's main offerings, and one that seems completely different from the usual...this could be a fresh new addition and a welcome change of pace, perhaps expanding an audience and bringing in some more non-Nintendo crowd...wait..." and then great, yet another first-party element added to a seemingly disconnected and untypical game.
I mean, I don't really care, since I'm a Nintendo fan for their first-party titles, but it is a bit bothersome that this costume thing is going on for almost every major game lately. I can imagine stuff like this being a bit off-putting to some. Hopefully it's just a fad, as it makes Nintendo look like they're really in love with themselves lol
..just my point of view
This just be labeled under weirdness! Or maybe even creepy.
This is the only thing that caught my interest in the direct. I almost want to buy it JUST because of this and the other costumes, but meh. I'll wait till it's less than $40 to buy it.
@DiscoGentleman - I owe you an apology, my boom boom boom wasn't venga boys, I have no idea who they are, I was thinking 80's. Very very 80's.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzK9zhrAlu4
@Beetlejuice I see where you got this from... A very furry-oriented site... I've seen it before.
@luke88
Agree with the W101 demo turned me off. But hearing it is really a good game made me want to buy it. I'm just waiting for a sale or a price cut.
Also agree with your assessment on the Direct. It's like they were forced to or aren't really prepared to make one. It seems I'm more inclined to get Hyrule Warriors now than Bayo2. But still, 60€ for 2 Bayo games is a good deal plus it offers something different compared to a typical Nintendo game.
@Shirma_Akayaku
I got it from a Google Image search. It was horrifying.
@2Sang That's no way to treat a lady! You got to go to a nice candle lit gamestop or best buy and buy Bayonetta full price. You'll get plenty of foxy time for the price.
@nathatruc Yeah I was pleased about that, thought we might have to wait till November
@rjejr That's interesting - I hadn't really thought at all about those numbers. My only evidence of it was anecdotal; seem to remember lots of people on here saying the demo put them off, it's a shame both in terms of us not getting more demos and the game not selling as well as it deserved.
@BensonUii Yeah don't get me wrong I'll be buying the game, looking forward to it. W101's a good game, definitely worth playing. I'm not quite as in love with it as some though. Guess it falls pretty typically within the definition of 'cult following'. You should give the full game a try when you get the money though, you might love it and it must be fairly cheap already.
"Jeez laweez, what is THAT!?"
@luke88
Don't get me wrong too. I'll be buying Bayonetta 1+2, it's just that Hyrule Warriors Direct is way better than Bayo Direct.
Also, I'm in the middle if I should really go all digital now or not. W101 is cheaper now on retail but I am waiting for an eShop sale/price cut.
People who think shoving a character that kills demonic creatures and evil kings in a cartoonish Kart game is A-okay but are against a friggin costume, idiots
@rjejr
That is what they announced today, that the costumes would appear on both games. It makes a lot of sense to me, why limit them to only the first one?
And I love this costume. Fox over Krystal, just as Link over Zelda.
Like the Daisy costume is an alternative to the Peach one, I'm sure there will be a Krystal one sooner or later... At least I hope so! :3
Don't get me wrong I am excited for this game, but all these Nintendo-themed costumes just look stupid.
Nintendo..? These costume ideas SCREAM Kamiya. I mean, here's a guy who made a game out of dozens of normal people, becoming fairly ridiculous superheroes, to literally band together, form shapes and giant items, to repel a strange alien invasion.
The guy likes Nintendo and wants to give anyone who buys his game something quirky that they COULD use, it's not a requirement.
And yes, it is over the top and rather insane / quirky. It's about a witch that forms weapons and summons various creations using her hair. And she gets progressively more exposed as her attacks become stronger.
The costume looks the best out of the four, maybe because they seem to have fit and modified it to suit her body type.
The bustier looks surprisingly good on her figure, though Bayonetta (and Jeanne, really) seem to have taken a liking to anything form fitting and shiny.
@BensonUii @luke88 same here, but I have a Japanese Wii U and the MK8 promotion for Japan allowed me to play 2 of 6 games for a month then get 40% off both if I buy it. 1 game I chose was W101 and I enjoyed it a lot. But I think it is still cheaper on my NA Wii U ($30-35?) compared to roughly ¥4200.
And furry cosplayers rejoiced.
Loving the outfit. I wonder how it would look when she does a barrel roll... I mean dodge.
@DiscoGentleman - Yeah, I have to admit
nearly naked hot chicks making out > Rick Astley wannabee
@sinalefa - " that the costumes would appear on both games."
Thank you kindly for the update. I have to admit though as much as I'm looking forward to replaying the old game in ALL those costumes I think I want to play thru the new 1 once w/o them, I'm afraid they'll spoil the mood.
@Haxonberik That would be the best star fox ever !
@BensonUii
The Hyrule Warriors Direct was better than the Bayo Direct? Were we watching the same thing? The HW Direct was, IMO, their worst Direct in a long time. It didn't reveal ANYTHING new besides, what? Bombchus? LOL. Playiable Rodin for online co-op op alone beats the entire Hyrule Warriors Direct.
@DiscoGentleman I noticed in an earlier post you commented that Shulk looked sexy in his underoos costume.
Are you a rabbid Anti-Foxite?
To those who complain about the costumes, I just wanna remind that you don't have to use them...
Oh goodness gracious.
@Goginho Platinum requested this so Nintendo gave them the permission like every other 3rd party. Nintendo isn't Shoehorning costumes in every 3rd party game they publish
@R_Champ
I meant on how the direct was presented. The HW is well made, well presented, it has humor. Unlike the Bayo Direct. We will still buy Bayo 2 though. For me, I still don't wanna buy HW for its asking price and I'm not a big fan of Warriors games. I will get it when it's 50% off. As for Bayo 1+2, it is a good deal for me for under 60€ since I've never played the first one before and it got good reviews.
I think something smells of the God-like scent of Kamiya. I will not question him.
What the heck?!
By the way, according to the US eShop, Bayonetta 2 is 17.5 GB. Might wanna make adjustments accordingly.
D**n I missed the Nintendo Direct
The Japanese Nintendo Direct also showed a Police Woman outfit for her ^_^
Waiting for the Waluigi fans to demand representation in the game. I suppose his head to leg ratio is the same as Bayonetta's.
Chinese and Police outfits here at 3:35

But can we kill skippy with it?
@Mega719 Oh okay. Then that's even odder, why would they want that? I'm assuming to raise more awareness of their game (make Nintendo fans feel more connected), since we all know how immensly popular Nintendo's first party franchises are and that other games tend to be disregarded. Meh
To all the haters, think of it like this: Bayonetta is a fan of Nintendo games, and when she's not killing angels or saving her friend from the pits of Inferno, she cosplays in her spare time, favouring these characters.
Maybe it's a little overboard for her to cosplay during the angel killing and stuff, but I say she can do whatever she wants.
Plus, I like the Fox outfit more than most all of the others.
So many emotions...
@Goginho as it was said at E3 these were Kamiya's favorite games back in the day so obviously Platinum wanted to take advantage with their partnership with Nintendo
Great, releases in Europe on my birthday, I know what I'll treat myself with.
Though I seriously question my feelings towards Bayonetta McCloud...
@ekreig This. This so much.
Trust me, I like Krystal. I still do.
She's not as popular as Fox, though. She isn't even playable in SSB!
Awesome!
Gender Bender cosplay is a lot better than freaking furries. That's why there is no Krystal.
@rjejr costumes in both and bayo 2 gets fox exclusively.
Fingers crossed for a Wonder Pink costume.
@Ryu_Niiyama - Fox is only in 2? This is what happens while I try to watch an ND while cooking dinner for the family.
Bayonneta in a Wonder Pink costume snapping a whip. Now there's a thought. A tattoo worthy thought indeed.
I like that they picked costumes that they had to modify to fit Bayonetta's style and body type but she could have played Palutena straight.
@nathatruc That would have been kind of cool. Maybe Fox and her?
The vanilla version of Bayonetta was already an incredible game, and with the addition of Nintendo fanservice, I'm going to really enjoy playing through it again on my Wii U.......after I play 2, of course.
I guess you could say she's got a -nice piece of tail-
2 games in one. What a steal! I like a lot of things about W101, jest except the drawin recognition. Bayonetta is nit going tohave this element. In addition, i somehow like the torturing combo. Call me sadistic!
I agree that the Nintendo custome thing is somewhat unnecessary: do not really fit with the game. Bayontta with peach costume does not look like Peach anyway. I won't bother with this element.
I won't buy other games until Bayonetta come out. Somehow i qm not really interested in Hyrule Warrior. Then, in Nov, Sonic Boom. Christmas, Captain Toad.
@PvtOttobot You don't have too because Bayonetta with fuzzy fox ears are close enough. I'm betting in a few days there will be new art popping up just like Splatoon did.
