@rjejr 10 is the max number of animal villagers. As you purchase the tenth plot Nook will say that it’s the last plot you can purchase.
As stated, there’s three additional rooms on the first floor, a big room on the second floor, and a basement. Second to last loan is around 1.25 mil and final is about 2.5 mil. When you pay off the final loan, you can do one free exterior change to your house every day.
You will need another bridge or an incline to get KK Slider to visit and unlock terraforming, and you will not get another free one, so it’s worth building one earlier if you can.
And I don’t think the lighthouse changes Gulliver’s visits but you wouldn’t want it to considering there’s a tool DIY that you can only get if you rescue him 30 times.
@retro_player_77 most Twitch streamers use PC, which is surely the demographic they’re going for (as big streamers tend to be good at popularizing games).
Well how else do you expect to get enough sky eggs? Or all the event exclusive recipes? A balloon nerf would make these things a pain for players that don’t wanna put in 8 hours every day.
I literally almost missed a balloon while I stopped to write this.
@Dm9982 oh I wasn’t suggesting it. I like it being real time, it’s less confusing for me. I do have friends who have picked Southern Hemisphere so they could get the fall bugs and fish and then visit their friends for the spring ones, making it possible to finish the museum legit within 6 months. But hemispheres don’t affect time zones so it’s still night in my town when it’s night in theirs. 😅
My guess is they’ll make more than one announcement that day, then later reveal what was real and what was a joke.
If they really want to be clever, they’ll put out multiple ideas that they want reception for and then go with the most popular one, but that’s assuming the reveal will be for something fairly far out.
@Kalmaro yeah, I suppose we will. I’ve never time traveled in the series and don’t plan to anyways, so it doesn’t affect me, but I am curious what they’ll consider cheating. I have heard that messing with the date in Pokemon Sword and Shield to get shiny Gmax Pokemon can be considered cheating in their book (with players getting disqualified from online tournaments if they’re caught using those Pokémon, likely discoverable due to the date they were caught showing up as a future date), so I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility.
And honestly, while it doesn’t affect other players directly, I could see how it would be “bad”. I remember in past games being able to sell items to other players online, which creates some level of an in-game economy. Time traveling players can use that to collect rare items and sell them for less than the legitimate players who took a long time to collect the items, thereby destroying that economy and making it hard for legitimate players to enjoy that feature. It’s a minor thing, but I’m sure there’s players who enjoy the feature and time traveling could impact that, especially given the push for multiplayer in this one.
@Kalmaro I saw that article, I’m not talking about events. I’m talking about seasonal stuff, like bugs and fish you don’t yet have access to because they’re in a different season. Could this check whether players have those things when they shouldn’t be able to yet?
Hmm. I wonder if it’ll detect players who time traveled? Like if they have items that shouldn’t be available to them yet or something. If so, there’s going to be a lot of players, even here, who wind up with account bans!
@Mountain_Man Nintendo has already confirmed there are plenty of holidays and events already in the game, these are additional holidays they’re adding in over time. Once something is added to the game (such as a new holiday or event), it’s there for good, you won’t need to download Bunny Day again. These are likely additional events they didn’t have time to add during development, they already delayed the game once.
@TAndvig I am quite aware, no need for hostility. I agreed that it might be a coincidence, but the odds are a little higher given they chose to go with the same nickname and Audrey’s story was on a lot of gaming websites while this game was in development. I could honestly see it going either way. That’s all I meant!
@TAndvig if you read the article, her in game username was already Audie. I agree it might be coincidence, but it’s not really Audrey vs Audie, it’s Audie vs Audie.
@Desrever doesn’t hurt to send ‘em in - you don’t need to call, it takes longer than just filling out the form online (they have a page JUST for joycon repairs). Who knows how long until this case is over and what solution will be ordered, though. For now, may as well take advantage of the free service.
@Moroboshi876 they do still do it for free, I had mine done a month or two ago. One set has already had to be sent in 3 times though, they just do a temporary fix and it’s super inconvenient. At this point, they need a permanent fix and/or some sort of compensation - having products that need to be mailed in for repair every year (or less) is not very good.
@Highlar there certainly will be a few digital events but I doubt it’ll be nearly as big a week as it was in prior years. Maybe you could take a trip somewhere that week instead? Traveling costs are low for the coming few months. It’s better than staying home all week feeling bad that E3 is off.
@AlexSora89 I don’t know if that would noticeably increase the number of demos distributed online. E3 demos are different than downloadable demos. A lot of E3 demos are for games early in development and are not stable, running risks of crashing or bricking systems. This isn’t a problem at E3 because, worst case scenario, they just pull out another console. Distributing them to consumers, however, means there’s a risk of damaging their consoles, which isn’t generally worth it to them. It’s why in most cases, demos are released for games within a couple months of release, after the game is more or less finished and very stable. No E3 likely doesn’t mean we get more demos at home, it just means there’s less demos being shown off (though there’s plenty of other venues they can just take the demos).
Though I too always wished I could download the E3 demos instead of just watching gameplay online or reading about them...
@Silly_G oh my backlog goes back several gens, it’s awful. Sometimes I literally get anxiety trying to pick what game to play, I’m spoiled for so many choices, and then I waste time being indecisive. Not to mention all the unfinished games... such a first world problem, but...
@Silly_G I know the feeling, Animal Crossing will eat my little free time soon and I still haven’t finished what I got for Christmas - I threw together a list of games I was interested in for any family that wanted to get me something this year (I figure at 30 I wouldn’t get much), and honestly next year I shouldn’t even bother listing games and instead list necessities. I ended up getting THREE RPGs for Christmas as a result. Digimon Cyber Sleuth Complete (which is two games in one anyways), Dragon Quest XI S, and Ni No Kuni. I was actually a bit annoyed, like when am I gonna finish these? Three RPGs at once is too much. I haven’t finished the first one yet.
@Silly_G part of me actually welcomed an apocalypse that let’s me focus on my backlog without worrying about new games to distract me. Like, I clearly have too large a backlog to finish before I kick the bucket, but it’d be nice to finish SOME of it, leave my future children less to inherit (that’s how backlogs world, right?)
@DarkTron highest grossing franchise in history and you find it that hard to believe that two of its tens (hundreds?) of millions of fans can independently come up with the idea of a no damage run? It’s not stealing an idea if this person didn’t even know about the previous person’s feat. No damage runs exist in other games, it’s not that outrageous of an idea.
@darkswabber it’s important to note that Captain Marvel is meant to be a character with very little emotion due to her Kree blood. That’s just how Kree are. A lot of movie fans that don’t read the comic books think that it was a flaw of Brie’s acting or the script, but it was intentional given she is part Kree.
That being said, I thought CM was alright but didn’t love it, primarily because I feel the character is too overpowered (similar to why I don’t like Superman). Once she comes into her full powers, it all becomes a curb stomp battle, and to see an interesting fight from CM requires a villain at least as strong as Thanos, if not stronger. At some point of the movie, she can just shred her opponents like tissue paper, and that’s an issue I have with the character in general, not the actress or the story.
As for political discussions here, what’s the point? Nobody is going to change anyone’s mind here, if you feel that much animosity towards Brie Larson then just move on with your life and don’t waste time commenting here. I, for one, am glad for any human beings who shares my hype for this upcoming game. The entire point of these sort of social games is to bring people together!
Still lining up with my theory of Nintendo dropping to only 1-2 Directs a year (outside of game specific Directs, Nindie Directs, and the E3 one). People can deny it all they want but Nintendo clearly aren’t planning to drop Directs as frequently as they used to. Heck, they might even wean off them entirely within the next couple years. They don’t need Directs to drop news.
@HappyMaskedGuy they’re already thinking of canceling the Olympics, which I’m not sure if that would be a bad idea. Few things are as global as the Olympics, and holding it in an area where there’s an outbreak would be the fastest way to spread it to every major country. And it’s already been stated that relocating or postponing it would be way too difficult, given the scale of the event. So it may indeed get canceled this year.
E3 isn’t quite as likely to be canceled (though possible if the epidemic worsens). Certainly people do travel internationally for E3, but not nearly at the same scale as the Olympics. I’m a little surprised GDC is being canceled, but the epidemic seems to be at its highest point so it’s likely just a precaution - E3 gives it some time to die down still (and the stakes are lower than with the Olympics).
Either way, hopefully this dies down soon, some countries are being pretty heavily affected.
Was hesitant until I saw the footage. Wario’s Woods is hugely underrated and I love the inspiration. Definitely being added to my list of games to look forward to!
@Seesh nope, and I doubt they’ll discuss that until the game comes out. It’s more likely a no than a yes though. It’s best to assume it won’t have cross platform saves, I think only a couple Switch games do.
I’m curious what Genrou wrote but I suppose I can deduce it. I wish there wasn’t such as stigma against mental illness. Mental illnesses can be fatal, but some people don’t seem to realize the brain is just as much an organ as the heart, or the lungs. If you suffer from mental illness, you can’t just get over it or even necessarily ask for help.
Imagine someone stronger than you and you’re alone in a room with them. Only one exit, they’re guarding it. You can try to reason with them but they can, at any minute, overpower you so you can’t leave to get help. At any minute, they can try to kill you. And no, you can’t just get stronger, they have access to the same resources and might always be stronger. That’s mental illness. Mental illness can actively bar you from getting help.
It’s horrible to go through, it’s terrifying and you often can’t see a way out, you can cry for help but often people don’t even hear you. And it’s horrible for loved ones too, whether you can tell they’re suffering and are powerless to help them, or you don’t see it and one day... they’re gone. And you look back on all the signs, and kick yourself because you realize they tried to call for help and you didn’t even realize it at the time, you thought they were getting better or didn’t even know they were suffering.
Mental illness is serious. And honestly, pretending it isn’t just makes it more fatal. Because just like the hostage in the room, they might not be capable of asking for help, and if you deny it then you don’t even see the signs. It’s mental for a reason. You can’t just reason your way out of it.
People who are writing it off really should give it a chance. It was surprisingly good. I’ll be surprised if Mario manages to be that charming. I was skeptical but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I agree live action versions of games generally don’t turn out good. This was an exception.
Pretty sure companies can’t be held responsible for user generated content. Every single game with user generated content that I’ve played ends up resulting in this stuff and I’ve not once heard of any legal cases against them. It falls in a gray area that the company can’t sue over, unless they want to sue individual players.
Continuing to line up with my theory that they’re phasing out general Directs down to about 2 a year (not counting E3). Which I’d be fine with, I’d rather they just drop announcements as soon as they have them rather than save them up for weeks or months so they can reveal a bunch of things at once.
Specialized Directs like this make sense. Though I honestly didn’t feel AC needed one, I was prepared to be surprised as much as possible.
@FiveDigitLP I suppose I understand it for people who want to own own physical copies of everything. At that point it’s not about the cost though, it’s about wanting physical options, and as I said I wouldn’t mind if they released a “definitive version” that included the DLC on the card just to cater to that demographic. Though I suspect there will still be people complaining that the physical option costs more. Still, having this content as DLC renews my interest in the series. It’s financially better for me.
@Incoherent1 it feels like they’ve been gravitating towards that is all. 😅 it’d be more jarring if they did it all at once. We used to get a Direct every 2-3 months, now we’re reach 5 months, and they’ve gradually had longer gaps. But we’ve had specific Directs for like Smash and Pokemon in that time.
Oh and Indie Directs, I wouldn’t be surprised if they continue to do a couple of those a year, it strengthens their connection to indie devs.
Unless I’m mistaken, the time between the last Direct and the Direct before that was longest at the time. They seem to be getting longer and longer. Honestly, I think they might be slowly letting them trickle off in favor of just releasing news as they have it and using smaller Directs for certain games - aside from maybe two Directs a year (on for E3, one in the fall), with MAYBE a third in the early part of the year? I wouldn’t be surprised if we get an Animal Crossing Direct soon. But it is kinda tiring when people start insisting “there has to be a Direct soon” as if Directs are always inevitable. A few people started saying it in December, a lot of people started saying it last month... a Direct will happen when and if Nintendo wants one. I almost prefer them not to wait until they have a bunch of news though, and just drop some announcements outside of Directs (or at least focus them on individual games or franchises). I wouldn’t even complain if we didn’t get an AC Direct, though we probably will.
@Silly_G I’m guessing it’s highly likely they’ll pull service from Bank soon, like within the year, given they expect most fans will transfer their Pokémon ASAP. Personally I think I may as well while it’s free.
And I’m sorry to hear you feel that way about the future of the series. Personally it’s had the opposite effect on me - buying the game again just to access the handful of new content in the “ultra” versions of the games, only a year or two after the original version released, was getting too much for me. Waste of my money. I’d rather pay half the price of a new game and just get the new content. Though maybe they’ll release a complete edition, like you said, for people who prefer that way? I don’t have the financial luxury to do that these days though, it’s just too expensive for me to buy the same game (with some new content) twice.
I would like a sequel to SV (as in, another farming sim with many more features and new characters), but I also don’t want to put him in a box with that game. That happens with a lot of indie devs. I’m glad he’s making something he wants to make. I hope someday he makes an even bigger and better farming sim though!

Re: Sonic The Hedgehog Movie Box Office Surpasses $200 Million Worldwide
People who are writing it off really should give it a chance. It was surprisingly good. I’ll be surprised if Mario manages to be that charming. I was skeptical but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And I agree live action versions of games generally don’t turn out good. This was an exception.

Re: Video: PS4's Dreams Is Being Flooded With Awesome Super Mario Games
Pretty sure companies can’t be held responsible for user generated content. Every single game with user generated content that I’ve played ends up resulting in this stuff and I’ve not once heard of any legal cases against them. It falls in a gray area that the company can’t sue over, unless they want to sue individual players.
Re: Yacht Club Games Is Broadcasting Its Second Official Video Presentation Next Week
Just add online to Showdown and I’ll never ask for anything from you again, Yacht Club! ...but I’ll still buy all your future stuff, don’t worry!
Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Official Companion Guide Confirms Museum's Return
Cute... but it comes out like 3 weeks after the game so I’m gonna pass.
Re: Animal Crossing Direct Announced for 20th February
Continuing to line up with my theory that they’re phasing out general Directs down to about 2 a year (not counting E3). Which I’d be fine with, I’d rather they just drop announcements as soon as they have them rather than save them up for weeks or months so they can reveal a bunch of things at once.
Specialized Directs like this make sense. Though I honestly didn’t feel AC needed one, I was prepared to be surprised as much as possible.
Re: Pokémon Support Explains What Happens When Your Premium Home Plan Expires
@FiveDigitLP I suppose I understand it for people who want to own own physical copies of everything. At that point it’s not about the cost though, it’s about wanting physical options, and as I said I wouldn’t mind if they released a “definitive version” that included the DLC on the card just to cater to that demographic. Though I suspect there will still be people complaining that the physical option costs more. Still, having this content as DLC renews my interest in the series. It’s financially better for me.
Re: It's Been 162 Days Since The Last Full Nintendo Direct, The Longest Wait Since 2016
@Incoherent1 it feels like they’ve been gravitating towards that is all.
Re: It's Been 162 Days Since The Last Full Nintendo Direct, The Longest Wait Since 2016
Unless I’m mistaken, the time between the last Direct and the Direct before that was longest at the time.
Re: Pokémon Support Explains What Happens When Your Premium Home Plan Expires
Re: Stardew Valley Creator Is Working On Two New Games Related To The Farming Sim
I would like a sequel to SV (as in, another farming sim with many more features and new characters), but I also don’t want to put him in a box with that game. That happens with a lot of indie devs. I’m glad he’s making something he wants to make. I hope someday he makes an even bigger and better farming sim though!
