The eagle-eyed among you have no doubt noticed that we like some modded retro consoles here at Nintendo Life; giving a new design and style to a lovely old system can be a fine thing indeed. This latest effort is also perfect for the upcoming Halloween festivities.
It's the work of Vadu Amka, who we've featured before with some stylish Nintendo mods. This time around we have a Super NES that's been well and truly given the Castlevania treatment; there's a skull, a whip, a coffin and an all-round gorgeous effect; there are even scratches on the controller. It all seems appropriate considering the time of year and the spate of titles from Konami's franchise currently making their way to the Wii U Virtual Console in North America.
Check out all of the images above and below and let us know how badly you want one; unfortunately we suspect it's one of a kind.

AMAZING,OMG that is a really collectable console
If I ever made millions.....my gaming collection would probably eat away a lot of my fortune.....thankfully I'm middle class at best so my collection is small and low on any actual value.
I don't even like castlevania and I would love to have that in my collection. Work of art.
This one is better than the Donkey Kong DS.
wow, that is super creepy!!! but cool nonetheless!!!
I like the controller the most.
Man that's eerie. I feel like playing on one of those will steal your soul and turn you into a gaming zombie. Also cool mod
That's 2spooky4me
...But seriously, amazing work. I especially love the controller.
Just wanted to say that North America really got jacked with the design of the SNES.
I both love and hate looking at these spectacular custom console designs because it makes my plain old generic consoles look lame in comparison.
Wow, amazing work....wish I knew how to do that, but I imagine the time it takes would discourage me lol.
For a second I thought it was a cake.
I'd love it, except for the fact that it's a Snes Model 2, meaning it's garbage.
I want it as well.
That is an astounding piece of work sure to be a showpiece for ages to come. Just needs a headstone treatment to a copy of Super Castlevania IV
Totally awesome
@AVahne I thought it was a cake at first, too, ha. It does look really nice either way.
This may me think why can't companies make these themes consoles. Sure they will be far more expensive but they would be awesome to own.
@Pokefraker
Actually it's either a PAL console or a Super Famicom.
Nintendo Life, don't you say you want EVERY custom console you post about?
Best SNES mod I've seen yet, including the one this local guy did. Two pieces of clear plasticy stuff (the texture reminded me of skate board wheels, aka, urethane), resoldered and reworked electronics board. Tinted black with white LED detail buttons.
I'll try and get him to send me a pic to post, but he cut the pieces himself so it looks really unique. As in, mass manufacturing would be almost impossible.
Best descriptor: a slimmer, smaller 3DO Goldstar.
With a matching controller and custom cut buttons (again, the same plasticy stuff, tinted black, with purple LED detail buttons and D-pad).
It's the only SNES I've seen that stands horizontally by default.
Is that the model 2 SNES or were the buttons customized as well?
@WaveWarlock: I can totally picture you playing Castlevania IV on that thing.
Nintendo Life, Y U HAVE NO LOVE FOR THE NA SNES???
It's not a model 2. It's Either a PAL SNES or a Super Famicom. Both of which look great compared to the sickly lilac NA SNES.
Those multi coloured A, B, X, Y buttons were my childhood.
That's glorious!!
Beautifully sculpted. Kudos to this guy!
yea, im soooo jealous
What you can do with a little bit of money
@AVahne Hahaha me too! Looks amazing though, the detail is astounding.
Dear lord, that's gorgeous.
Wowza! That looks amazing! I'm always tempted to try something like this but I doubt I have the skills or time needed to pull it off.
Looks really cool!
Chapeau
Gorgeous!!! That's a piece of art.
@Pokefraker No. actually it isn't.
Amazing... but does it play games!?
Super Spooky!
Very nice.
